I think, FSG need to use their resources in a better way. They have no doubt been extremely generous in trying to put our club, their club back into the English Elite but it hasn't quite happened, many will blame the manager or the transfer committee or even the players not performing which I think in parts is all true.

But we have spent so much money on players that are not helping to drive the club onwards and the great hope for this season, Daniel Sturridge has been crocked not just for this season but for the start of next season we hear as well.

It's goals we've lacked considerably this year, the one thing we had in abundance last year. I think the big risk signings the Andy Carrolls and Mario Balotelli's need to stop, even though when we spend big money on one player it is always somewhat of a gamble and when they come from another league it can be an even bigger gamble but we need some quality to lead the line.

If Champions League is a must, and for many of us it is and rightly so, then I think in the Premier League we are only as good as our frontline. Instead of the committee, manager trying to sign risks and nearly men, we need to sign goal scorers, Suarez was a goal scorer and he showed it brilliantly in his last two seasons for us, Torres was a goal scorer for us and we need another prolific goal scorer to accompany Sturridge otherwise we will struggle to make the top four again, and our rivals in the league are just as powerful, if not more when it comes to signing the players they need when they need them.

I do think the young players we invested in will do better next season but we need some leadership and guile in our forward line to make us a genuine threat once again. Just my opinions on the current situation, as I see it. Cheers for reading and look forward to any feed back.

Agree in parts, Ollie. We know why we have and what we need. The prob is does BR know what we need and based on the facts on the ground, it looks like he just spends money on players and has no idea why he signed them or on how to use them. He wants marquee players, he gets the money, he doesn't buy them and then complains about not having marquee players. Can you believe that BS? We have good players and we need to focus on getting three top players in to boost the first team. If BR is in charge, he will sign nearly men so he can mould them to what he wants them to be as players but will and IMO, can't handle big characters hence, won't sign them yet complains he can't get them.

The development of players can only improve if they are given the playing time, so they gain confidence. We do need a manager who doesn't bench them, after a negative result.

That takes courage, commitment and strategy from a club standpoint. The manager has to be true to youth policy because as much as we have to win now, it doesn`t mean the youth should go to waste as a result. Look at other big clubs like bayern, barca and Real. They buy mega stars everytime BUT still make space for their youth like Carvajal, Jese (Real), Munir, Rafinha, Thiago, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Pedro (Barca)and Alaba, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Muller, Gaudini, etc (Bayern). They are all under pressure to win YET believe in their youth setup. Tha is what we need to do as well.
