Its been fairly obvious for some time now that all we need is a 'bang merchant'.said simply someone who knows where the goal is and doesn't flap all the time like our current strike force.he doesn't need to be some super skilled tricky striker.just a player in ian rushs mold.those strikers are hard to come by but for me the likes of llorente, forlan, berbatov, gomez fit that mold and are affordable and obtainable.we play good football we just need a finisher.what do the eds and everyone else think of the sugestions?

Thanks,Alex

Thank you for talking some sense...

We played very well at times tonight. Some silly misplaced passed but overall the movement was good.

We could easily have been 3 or 4 up at half time. This performance is a perfect example of our season. We dominated the game and failed to take chances.

1 player. That's all we need. We don't need to get rid of Downing, Carroll & Henderson. We certainly don't need to get rid of KK.

I vomited in my mouth when you mentioned Berbatov.

I was happy with the loss tonight, bot that we deserved it but mainly because I thought champions league was impossible anyway and it will give the management the wrong idea about the quality of the squad. But I do not think an overhaul is needed. The rest of our league games are now officially useless, therefore I think key players like Gerrard, Suarez, downing and skrtel should play less and be rested for the fa cup. Surely the likes of shelvey, Coates and Carroll can step up and win Wigan at anfield. It will also be a good time to let some youngsters such as sterling and suso and coady make a few senior appearances since games mean nothing now. Have them well trained up for next year's Europa.

Oh yeh we'll definitely be able to attract top players in the championship

Yes this is how we should be thinking rather then firing post like sacking kenny and selling players,

21 Mar 2012 23:49:24
I think the overreaction is a bit silly. Ok we had a mad 15 mins tonight. For 70 mins we were brilliant tonight. We are having a great season so lets see what happens. I dont believe people can really judge kenny until next season if we are far away from the top four.

When he took over we were eighth from bottom to be where we are is a miracle so lets get behind the boys. we have one trophy in the bag and a massive semi to come.

Maybe we need to instill a winning mentality but that comes when the squad has played with each other longer.

Complete and utter roll*x - spent 100 mil and still struggling to maintain mid table mediocrity - there's no defending the indefensible

Sorry I laughed at the phrase 'massive semi'. Childish but hilarious

21 Mar 2012 23:48:54
What a goal from Coates...shame he can't defend.

Goals aint his fault mate

21 Mar 2012 23:47:41
Spoke to KD after the match, he said we don't need a new striker we have Coates! Carroll will be back up for agger! Lol

21 Mar 2012 23:47:06
Apart from hiding behind the Carling Cup win and comfortable home draws in the FA Cup where is the supposed progress? Thats about 2 wins out of 12 in the Premier League a record that would get most managers sacked. How many teams in Europe could have that sort of record and not be using their £35m striker?
Is this continual, unabated hard luck, or at some point does it come down to the ineptitude of the manager or the players he has bought?
How embarassing does it have to become before the required change is made?

And your name is?

What does it matter what his name is? Do you have anything to contribute about LFC or the performance?

Is he not correct by asking ..
Why Carrol was not used, we got him to play isnt it..
Its not working out, but was getting better..
Its other way round for Adam..

last 2/3 games we have seen Suarez, Downing, Carroll, Kuyt with Gerrard and Spearing is our best 6 ..may be Put Bellamy there..
Why play Adam and replace him with henderson .. Carrol came on in 80+ mins..
and replaces Suarez..

We can do with 2 C .Midfielders vs QPR atleast..
-- Not a biased Fan..
We have good team playing and being 2-0 Up ... But substitutions were not good..

its both managers (bas subs) and players letting 2-0 adv slip fall...

21 Mar 2012 23:45:42
I still believe kenny is the right man. Today it was the players who lost their concentration.

21 Mar 2012 23:45:32
Ee why does everone talk about average young players going to liverpool we dont need them we need good players like cavani and lavezzi

Do they want to play for us? Does their current club want to sell them? Can we afford them?

If the answer to any of these is no, I don't think it's going to happen..

Good God, I came on here to take the piss, but there isn't one single positive post by any of you. Perhaps you are now finally realising that 'King Kenny' isn't the man for the job. Seriously £100m on Carroll(the best thing he does is swear profusely at the referee), Adam, Downing and Henderson and Coates(who did score a good goal tonight). You need to get rid of Johnson, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Downing, Carroll and perhaps a few more. You may need to replace Suarez too. There are problems at Anfield, and I don't think Kenny is up to it. However, who is available that is up for it?

If we win our next game our points will 45 in 30 this season... That's exactly what we were last season... 30 played 45 pts.

Need 16 pts in 9 games to beat last season total of 58...

Do you know what, I'm not sure lads, not confident...

If you sign crap players, you'll have a crap team. Simple.

Ahhh I wondered where you were, Ash - I guess with the recent wins you had nothing to moan about so why post. At last, we have lost a game so you get to have yet another whinge.

Mate, we conceded 3 goals in 10 mins. some of the players r just not good enough for liverpool. Losing in this fashion cud trigger a collapse, eg, spurs.

Missed the game... Anyone know where i would be able to watch a replay of the match?

RedhEd {Ed001's Note - if you have Sky, the Liverpool channel is free and always shows replays of the matches.}

Im in Australia. No Sky. Usually get up to watch all the games but missed this one..
Sounds like another frustrating game though. Would still love to watch it if you know where i could stream a replay!
Cheers

RedhEd {Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I didn't realise. The sites I used to use to watch replayed games have all been removed in the latest US crackdown on them. Apparently streaming football matches was highly dangerous to the security of the US, so dangerous they shut as many down as they could find. Not actually sure what the danger is they possess, but I don't think it matters when there is money involved. So I no longer know of any, I have been meaning to try and find some new ones myself.}

Do what i do and expect to lose against the 'Lesser' teams. This way your not dissapointed and you gain a sense of realism. Face it were a 'mid table cup team'.

21 Mar 2012 23:32:40
Nice to see downing with a bit of confidence and seeing him try and beat defenders and score goals again.
One positive from today's game.
Another was that goal from Coates.
A goal scorer and a right winger are badly needed in the summer, really pacey ones as well.
The players are at fault for that one. The team was set up by kenny to win and dominate and that's what we did for 70 mins, the players switched off an let us down.

MIKEY

21 Mar 2012 23:29:28
So what have the players learnt tonight...

When you are winning, you haven't won!!!!

Numpties! how much are they paid? Concentration for 90+ minutes gentlemen... poor show form a team that state they are wanting top4 finish... not the right time of the season to start running out of form if you want to finish in the top 4.

21 Mar 2012 23:29:25
Consistency has been our main issue the entire season - without it we will not challenge for the league or champions league places anytime soon. Is Dalglish the right man for the job? On current evidence and form it's difficult to make a case for him. Had a good amount of money to spend but the signings have not reaped the rewards we expected. Not signing an out an out goal scorer in summer was an oversight - failing to sign one in January was negligent and stupid. Can't see KK being manager come the start of next season..

SMc

Diagree with the january issue, if the right striker wasn't available at the right price on the right wages! why pick up someone we dont want, so people can keep moaning about we spent to much for a carp player!
you need to think outside the box a little bit (excuse the pun) were not playing fifa or fb manager!

billynwa

P.Cisse moved to New Castle..
Jelavic to Everton..
And few more..

Lol count how many of the negative critics on here remain nameless. All the positive posts seem to be from regular posters or those happy to leave a name.
Poor result v QPR but I dont believe too many real supporters will blame the manager for this loss.

cozinoz

Finally someone talking a bit of sense. Fair play cozinoz.

No one man can be to blame for that result.

Walk on.

Curtiss

I only watch the game through alerts on my phone but we seemed to dominate, im normally allways positive but very dissapointed the boys went to sleep 15 minutes from time!

billynwa

Definitely not Dalglish's fault for the loss, but he needs to drop some players and punish them for an ordianary showing in the last 20 mins mate. I am furious at the lack of heart we show against teams that we think we should beat - unprofessional and disgusting. It is now Dalglish's responsibility to fix it by dropping the culprits and giving those who would cherish a full 90 minutes a go.

The gap between us and the relegation zone, and us and 4th, are getting closer - absolutely embarrassing.

Somebody else posted earlier that we are a mid-table cup team. There is no arguement anyone can make against that call - it is exactly what we are this year. I hoped for more, and to be honest, expected more from LFC.

Didn't care if we missed 4th, but wanted to at least make a go for it.

Oh well - next year........sigh.

LIVERPRES

Jog on...

I am disappointed at the lack of commitment from some of the players they need to realize that it is a 90 min game ..... i Hope KK takes the appropriate action and drops a few of them for the next game so that they realize their mistakes... KK should be given the credit when he turned around our poor defense during pre season
I believe in KK

21 Mar 2012 23:24:53
I'm absolutely disgusted by tonight's performance. Seriously bad to lose from a two goal lead (when's the last time a Liverpool team did that?) We can't finish, lose possession in critical areas and now seem to have forgotten how to defend. For Kenny to say he's not sure where it went wrong does not inspire me with any confidence at all. Sort it out for next season, there's only the FA cup left now.

Does reina make saves?
Jason

Great post, everyone says how good Reina is but when does he ever make a save like all the other goalies in the league. Maybe he is good with the ball in his feet or for hitting quick rushes but when it comes to doin the job in front of the net which is the most important he is just average at best for me.

I kno mate- I actually like him and think he is very very good but this season he's made more errors than good saves. Think he needs to really take a long look at himself and up his game. For that third goal he seemed resigned to the fact it was a goal because of an error by Enrique, when he should've tried to close down quicker.
Jason

Agreed. I just realized today why I'm always terrified whenever the opposition has a free kick, corner, or puts a cross in. And that reason (or at least a big part of it) is Reina. He rarely leaves his line these days and just looks so immobile to me. One example- Suarez through with a decent effort (not great, but okay) and it's stopped by Ruddy. Same thing happens to Reina and he's too slow to close it down, through the legs it goes... He does have excellent distribution, but for me I'd take Vorm or several others over Reina, likely at a profit and reduced wages to be used on other positions.

21 Mar 2012 23:17:53
i have to say that i was embarrassed and disgusted with the result today. there has to be a clear out this summer and probably a new manager. 7th place and behind newcastle. we lose against qpr of all teams. how is that a working progress?.

I really don't think there is a need for a clear out, the players we have brought in are good "squad" players, but not of the quality that was needed to deliver a sustained challenge for the top 4.

The fact we've gone on 2 good cup runs, beating Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City along the way shows on our day we can beat the best sides.

The frustration is that the players cannot seem to get themselves up for the rest of the games...

Eds I take it by Nathan Ecclestones absense from any first team squad this season that he has no future at the club? Surely a 21 yr old attacker with pace would have gotten at least time on the bench? {Ed001's Note - if he was good enough, but he is poor in the ressies, why would he get a chance in the first team? He needs to do better, then he will get a chance.}

He's not playing poorly in the reserves. He constantly plays for the reserves because Rodolfo thinks highly of him as I could infer from an interview Rodolfo once did. I have seen a lot of the reserve matches and he's not too bad, I mean obviously he is not great but just like Shelvey and the other decent performers in the reserves he just wont get much of a chance because we have Carroll, Henderson and Adam.

21 Mar 2012 23:04:23
We can't score goals to win games, and now our defence is starting to wobble.
Oh dear, I dread the last few games.
I hope we can at least reach 58 pts, otherwise there is no progress from last season.

21 Mar 2012 23:01:59
This team will never be good enough for the Champions League.
We are closer to the relegation battle than the battle for the league.
The 58 pts attained last season look a very, very far away.
Been saying it all season, AC is cr*p, and the others (except for Saurez and Enrique, Coates) are not good enough to wear the LFC shirt.
British players, please do me a favour, they are all useless!.

Enrique didn't look too clever on his backside...

If it wasn't for Kenny, we wouldn't have got to 58 points last season.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Then kenny's responsible if Liverpool don't reach 58pts this season.

21 Mar 2012 22:56:37
Well Fellow reds, another upsetting night. What we have to remember is that we already have some silver in the bag a possable final to look forward to europa league next year so we have move on since last year Rome was not built in a day and all that.We must stop calling for Kennys head we all shouted to kenny to take up the seat after roy and now we have him for just over a year we are all calling for his head. Yes he has made some really bad signings in the summber but what manager hasnt done. We are liverpool football club we stand behind the team no matter what like the song goes "hold your head up high" and even in these hard times we will look back when we have united off there purch and say god remember those days glad they are behind us now we need to be strong for the manager the players and each other. Tonight was a shock to say the least thought three points were in the bag. We switched off and payed the price a lesson has been learned, alot of these players are not used to the expections for the liverpool fans and there is pressure they never had before. Lads and lasses Can we hold our heads up and stand by the team and let KING KENNY do his job as best he can

loz9064

The sad thing is, this result is not really a shock we've had plenty of poor results against the so called lesser teams. Yet we have still haven't learned any lessons. how many times have we conceded goals from poorly defended set-pieces. How many poor set-pieces have we taken? How come everyone and their mother knows that charlie adam is way off pace and way off form apart from kenny and the coaching staff? How long will it take them to realise that Henderson cannot play right midfield? Kenny needs to stop being so protective of the players, they are hiding behind him after every poor performance. And most of all, can he stop peddling this rubbish that Champions league football is achieveable this season...

Yes mate love it! when i was young i allways thought that is what this club is all about!

21 Mar 2012 22:51:22
I hate knee jerk fans. I've said it before and I'll say it again - after a win, you all say we're amazing and Kenny is the best man to walk gods green earth, if we lose, Kenny should be sacked and we're a mediocre team. Seriously can't you look at the results and performance with a bit of realism?

We we're fantastic for 70 odd minutes, granted losing our heads like that isn't acceptable at this football club and the result is awful considering how much we dominated the game. You can't just blame the manager for the collapse in concentration/mistakes though, players are at fault too.

It's football, these things happen. We're guaranteed European football next season, we have won a cup and are on another trip to Wembley we're we could face the blue half of Merseyside.

Please stop craving instant success and help our club build steadily to make sure of a sustainable future.

I love Liverpool Football Club, all of the staff, including playing staff - they wear the liverbird on their chest and I wear it with them. Sometimes performances may dip and concentration may be lost but we are in this together. We'll Never Walk Alone.

Curtiss

Must have missed your post here when Hodgson was in charge...

Couldn't agree more. Sums up exactly my feelings as well. I'm pleased with LFC at the moment. So what we lose? Who cares at the moment when we are in Europe, have won a cup and are off to Wembley again!

Next season will be better when the players have had more time to gel. I am excited over our future :)

Reid the Red

To the unnamed poster - what do you mean? Grow up and bloody support.

Curtiss

Good post,

I'm just frustrated as we should be so much higher up in the league than we are. We haven't got the results our play deserves.

The players are to blame for today, and should take a long hard look at themselves for today's result. We got a reaction after the debacle that was the Bolton away, we need something similar now

RedSG

21 Mar 2012 22:50:39
I think asking for kennys head is just plain stupid, we've won the league cup, we can win the fa cup, European football guaranteed next season.
weve had gerrard out for most of the season, lucas out for most most of the season, johnson out and saurez out for a massive chunk of it.
we lost a game big deal cl is impossible now, two cups for me and im happy, would you trade the cups for 4th, i doubt it

I would trade the cups for 4th as that would be progress and also the progress would be noticed by the calibre of players we desperately need, where I agree we played well but we don't have the quality where it counts and thats why we are not progressing and spurning the majority of chances created

"would you trade the cups for 4th, i doubt it"

It's very easy to say that when 1 Cup is in the cabinet and 4th place is nigh on impossible. We are Liverpool Football Club, we should be challenging for League titles and competing in the top European competition.

The past 2 League campaigns have been unacceptable, KK rescued us from the abyss that was the Roy Hodgson era, but we're in a results business and despite the fact KK has us playing the best football we've played in long time, the results have not reflected the performances and we find ourselves where we are in the league.

I want KK to get another season, hopefully with a squad bolstered by 2 or 3 quality signings and a fully fit and firing Gerrard, Lucas and Suarez.

21 Mar 2012 22:34:29
what was your take on the game ed001?
absolutely disgraceful :( some goal by coates though
josh {Ed001's Note - extremely disappointing to lose, but I fail to see why people are getting it out of proportion like they are. This was not another Spurs game, we didn't get battered and completely played off the pitch, in fact it was closer to the opposite for most of the match. There were just issues with seeing out the game. We missed Kelly at right back, Carragher looks even more short of pace than ever out there and he offers nothing going forward. Gerrard and Henderson switched off, Kuyt looked dead on his feet (unusually for him!), and the defence were exposed. The most worrying thing is that Reina was found wanting yet again, he has been a fantastic keeper, but the last couple of seasons he has let his standards slip. He doesn't seem to have the same confidence he once had, he will stay on his line when a cross comes in that is begging for him to deal with it. I wonder about the coaching he is getting.}

Ever since Xavi Valero left everything has been downhill. He was not just a goalkeeping coach as he also taught Torres (as said by Torres himself) and presumably other strikers how to deal with keepers such as when one on one etc. Too many times this season we have been unable to beat the oppositon keeper and our own has let his standards slip as well.

Interesting take on Reina Ed001. I have noticed this 'staying on the line' seems to be more prononunced when Carra plays. He certainly doesn't seem as comfortable or as commanding as he used to be. RED LENIN

Ed,

Why did Valero leave and where did he go to?

Any chances of getting him back?

If you remember, a few weeks back, I had asked what does Kevin Kean bring into the table?...You had told you will find out theopinions of players abt him? .. Any luck :)

LiverBird {Ed002's Note - He left when Benitez' team left and went to Inter. I doubt he will return. The other question will have to be asked when Ed001 is around.}

21 Mar 2012 23:13:31
Reason Kenny is to blame is that hekeeps changing the team. adam and henderson keep getting games, shelvey & maxi overlooked. Roy Hodgson would havebeen slaughtered.

21 Mar 2012 23:13:07
Kenny has to go the team in the 80s made him look good,he shold not of come back

You mean he shouldnt have come back to save us last season from the serious threat of drifting toward relegation? He shouldve stood by and not answered the phone when the owners were trying to ring him? He shouldve satyed on his holiday and not raced back to pull Liverpool to the point where top 4 was within reach? Are you serious? t**t with a capital T!! Seriously ed001 how can people have such short memories to forget what he has done for us and how far he has brought us in a year? It truly baffles me.

If I was Kenny tomorrow morning. The 1st thing i'd do after I give our defence a bollicking, is tell Raheim Sterling to get ready he's in the squad. For the game against Wigan. Now would be the best time to give this kid a run out. Just to see how much he has developed, over this year. Most of us have been watching him all year and we all agree, the kid could be special. So Kenny, stick him in the squad for the rest of the league games, what harm can it do?

Watched him yesterday against Arsenal reserves. He was the best player on the pitch (again). Bring him into the squad, stick him on the bench. And bring him on winning or losing, to see what he could offer. He'd be a breath of fresh air and could be the pace and skill we are so seriously lacking, on the wings.

IMO, Sterling could be that little spark that could brighten our end to the season.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Hang on! Look at the league results Blair, Kenny has to take responsibilty for 1 of our worst ever premier league campaigns add to that he has enjoyed record transfer spend and the only conclusion is that Kenny is utterly out of his depth he has not cured the teams major weaknesses. So before he lets loose at the team he should look in the mirror and say "im I the best that LFC can get to do this job" the answer is simple NO! The club deserves better.

Could be a good time to bring him in against Wigan, their defenders are strong but hardly mark tightly, so he wouldn't have to worry to much about them just going through him.

KT!

Maybe you're right Blair, mate. But do you not think it's a bit early in his development? I agree we're all excited about his talent but it wouldn't be worth hindering his future because of a less than satisfactory end to the season..

I'd love to see him make a few cameo's, but I don't think we should chuck him in at the deep end.

Curtiss

That is half the problem, Kenny won't kick arses. All season I've heard how the players enjoy going in for training, it's one big happy family, they are always playing jokes and messing about. I think Kenny is to friendly with the players like he was before, that can breed complacency. Kenny needs to get stricter in training and drop under achieving players and bring in the youngsters. Show who's boss Kenny and make changes...Bobbinred

I thought we'd actually played well, especially in the 2nd half unnamed poster. 3 mistakes cost us 3 points. Martin Skrtel was to blame for 2 goals but how can we slate him, he's been great all season? But I do agree, of course we should be higher. But I can guarantee you, if we win the FA Cup. Most of us will be saying, this wasn't a bad season after all.

I'll wait until the end of the season, to pass judgement on Kenny.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I would defo have him in the squad for the Wigan game, Curtiss mate. I'd also start Coates every game now. To get him blooded in, for next season.

We've f*ck all to lose mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

You said yourself Bobbin mate, the players are enjoying training. Would you rather they didn't enjoy training, like City players?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

We played really well this evening mate, up until 72 minutes.. It's a shame though, it's been the story of our season - playing well and not sticking the pigs bladder between the sticks.

I agree with you, we can't blame Skrtel - 2 mistakes in how many games? I just wish fans would look at the bigger picture after each game. Maybe results in the league haven't been what we're expecting. But who else would have us playing attractive football, love and care the club as much as Kenny does. Plus, there is no manager available to us who I could think suited the job?

If Agger is still out for a while with his broken rib I think we should bleed Coates in, definitely. I think he's got a bright future.

We have nothing to lose mate, except maybe adding stress and slowing Sterlings growth. We'll see!

Curtiss

On which basis do you ask kenny abt his responsibilities when you dont even sign your posts?

Absoloutely Livid !

Gutted. But also one of the reasons I love football. Just on the wrong end of it tonight. Nick.

21 Mar 2012 22:54:35
The players seriously let kenny down tonight, although partly his fault with very bad buys.

No other top class manager would have bought these players! and its true, we cant hide that fact!

If villas-boas came in instead of kenny he would have bought Mata not Henderson.... not Adam.....
Not Carrol... the list goes on.

Us as fans should demand change after all its us that pay these guys wages week in week out.

Kuyt has been great for lfc but, sorry mate its time to move on now, apart from a lucky goal tonight he was useless and has been all season. your always gonna be a fans favourite but is this good enough?

Kuyt demanded a place in the team tonight through the papers and kenny give in to him, that says alot.

From - GERRARD - ALONSO - MASCHERANO
To - SPEARING - ADAM - HENDERSON

We need to seriously consider our expectations unfortunately. Rant over!

Harley

{Ed001's Note - except you are missing the fact that Kenny did try and buy Mata, so your whole post is based on nonsense and fantasy football manager insanity.}

It was an example ed! and i dont play fantasy football manager....

Harley

I partly agree... on FROM - TO bit, but the club are in this situation because a few years of bad ownership... I've said many times on this site - Youth is the key because not many top players are going to come just because of our history, not unless we pay crazy wages etc. So, Kenny's hands are somewhat tied here...

We'll get out of this with a 5 year plan of investing in youth... other than that, bring in another manager who can win us the Champions league in his firs season in charge and people will come... but we have to get in the thing to start with!!

21 Mar 2012 22:53:55
Sorry Carrol never be good enough for LFC.Aslong as hes got hole etc etc

21 Mar 2012 22:53:46
You can't expect instant success we are a work in progress the club is being rebuilt. If we get the cup double and 6th place that would still be a good season. I would rather win cups than finish fourth in the league. What do you think everyone/eds?
Invernesian

I'm sick to death about hearing a work in progess 20 years is long enough don't you think and under kenny there is no progress,so please wake up we are s**t
End of

Are liverpool not a champions leave team then?

So 4th place and champions league or cup double. I would rather win things than come 4th
Invernesian

21 Mar 2012 22:53:17
let me tell u how depressing that result was. i have recently lost 5 stones in weight and now im eating kfc to drown my sorrows, thnx lfc! :(

You eat to drown??

"Downing" himself in fried chicken! :D lol

21 Mar 2012 22:53:05
Sickve It.Ed do the players read this site? Cos if they dont-They Fookin well should!

21 Mar 2012 22:50:39
The difference between us and United is ,they would have went on to win 4-0 and we lose 3-2

Sad but true...

RedSG

21 Mar 2012 22:49:51
For the last few months I keep reading the we gonna get 4th spot brigade big up our team, wake up and smell the coffee we are 7th and that says it all. Next season the top sides will buy even better players and we will go further down the slide with average ones. Kd has to go , get someone who can do the job to get us back up there.

And who is going to pay the money to buy the quality players we need... sacking Kenny is not the answer... Tell the first team, you haven't cut the mustard, the youngsters are going to have a go... from now until the end of the season.

21 Mar 2012 22:49:05
Here's a thought...so if we do win a cup double (IF) Kenny gets to walk with his head held high and legendary status intact.

New manager next season. I just can't see it any other way... as much as that saddens me.

Frenchy...

21 Mar 2012 22:48:13
S.O.S Rafa. You did fair few b lls ups.But under immense pressure with ownership issue. Before all that arose you did well.Under New ownership regimme,he'd do well.He nearly brought us Title.Given opportunity under Fenway, feel he could be the man.Kenny could be our Charltonesque figurehead-upstairs

21 Mar 2012 22:34:53
Hugely embarrassing result. This season has been disastrous. League Cup wins are only useful if they spur you on in the league. We've become worse since then. Without doubt a new management team needs to be put in place during the Summer. Preferably to include someone with a modicum of skill in the transfer market.

21 Mar 2012 22:34:26
For once, I hope the 'Sack Kenny' brigade can drag their heads out of the sand and see the players were responsible for that loss today - the same players who beat Everton and Stoke so well let us down today. Not Kenny and not specifically Kenny's signings. KKs tactics had us 2-0 up, the players lost that lead.

2-0 up an cruising! more goals on the horizon. so take off ur most mbile forward (who has already had an 9 game rest) then put on AC who has struggled all season but put together a good run of 3 or 4 porformances before kk dropped him for the Man Utd game. i love kk but i think hes tactically inept. if he really loves our club then he shoud step aside. brendon rodgers an steve clark dream team for me! future of english football

You didnt notice that Suarez was running on empty then, unnamed numpty?

21 Mar 2012 22:34:18
Had we of closed the game off after being 2-0 up and bagged the 3 points, it would of glossed over the fact that we need a striker, one that is always on the shoulder of the last defender.

It makes it so much easier as a player knowing that you'll always have an outlet. Someone that is constantly sniffing for a through ball to be played in-behind opposition defences.

Andy Carroll can be an outlet, but he needs good service from out wide and doesn't have the mobility to poach in front of goal.

Personally, I'm a great admirer of Klaas Jan-Huntelaar and I believe he fits the bill. The only concern is that he will be 29 at the start of next season.

So if not him, then at least a player in the same mould. Please.

Stone YNWA.

Torres!

21 Mar 2012 22:33:49
So, Kenny is to blame for Enriques mistake and Henderson poor marking?

Excuse me for asking, but are the players exempt from any of the 'blame' here?

Stu.

21 Mar 2012 22:33:30
Look, maybe its my anger but Wtf is going on?! Why didn't we buy a striker in Jan? Either Kenny and Comoli and their team do not know to close transfer deals or John W Henry and co didn't trust Kenny with money at that time? So which is it? WE NEED A PROLIFIC STRIKER FOR GOODNESS SAKE! WE HAVE DONE FOR MONTHS!!

K.Bennett

Torres!

There wasn't one worthy and available. it was evident the club were looking but january just isn't the time to buy. some fans need to understand that the club have tried their best, we've made our interest be known to llorente, gomez, mata and probably many others but they either haven't wanted the move or wasn't allowed.
s.p

Look, don't patronize me okay.......im aware how hard it is to sign players in Jan. However, what happened to the De Jong situation? Did we not get him simply because Steve McLaren went back to FC Twente? Seriously? That deal was already in the pipeline before the transfer window and before McLaren went back so what the hell happened? And the lad from Inter Milan, the deal with him broke down too! Why? Who else did we go for I ask because i don't recall an attempt for anyone else! And don't tell me that there was no one worthy available at that time, I'm not having that!

We are still having the same issue.......creating lots of chances, getting tons of corners etc but can't seem to put the ball in the net.......STILL!
I'm sorry but seeing Carroll on for Suarez last night was unbelievable!
Our other problem area is rw, I dont recall any attempt at this position in Jan! Not even for someone like a Matt Jarvis who would have been relatively cheap, most likely willing to come to us and is a decent player imo

So me asking is the question.....was money being withheld or do we have a no so good negotiating team is relevent!

Your 'some fans need to understand talk' has offended me! How patronizing!

K.Bennett {Ed002's Note - Don't take it so seriously; it's only a game.}

21 Mar 2012 22:33:21
I'm not kidding......I'm effing fed up with this crap. I've got to budget for next year.....do I eat? Do I fill the car with petrol?..Do I feed my dog, replace my kitchen, upgrade my matress, paint my fence, give my kids more computer games or .....and this is the crux....re-new my Season-ticket!?
Anfieldpete

Its a no-brainer mate , feed the dog .

Depends what kind of supporter you are Anfieldpete. Plenty of people will take your season ticket and follow Liverpool FC whether they win, lose, succeed or get relegated. Very easy to replace sunshine fans like you with real supporters

as mentioned by lawro we need at least another 5/6 players.are bench is shocking.

then we will challenge DORSET RED

21 Mar 2012 22:30:20
We have a soft centre and have not got the quality to close a game out, this gives the smaller teams belief that they can take a point or in this case all three,we are also paying the price for too many missed chances

21 Mar 2012 22:25:05
Edd01 i could nt find a link that worked for the match, thankfully. Seeing as you are a voice of reason can i ask,
A What you thought of tonights performance
B How henderson and adam are going on posts, and
C Is it time in your opinion for kenny to go

Taffytel {Ed001's Note - A. some of our play was excellent, but it was like that annoying Arsenal thing, were the players pass, pass, pass on the edge of the box when a shot is on. Then of course it ends up petering out. But, until they snatched a goal, QPR were overrun and struggling, the lift it gave them changed everything. Worst of it was that none of our players responded at all, none, they all let their heads drop. That is unforgivable. At the end of the day, we should have won, it was rank bad defending as a team that cost us those 3 points.
B. Henderson didn't really get into the game, he needs to start imposing himself, he is clearly short on confidence. Makes me wonder why Shelvey wasn't the sub, he would have suited the way we were playing better as well. Adam was dire, in the first half he was slow, not just the way he was moving, but he was slow with everything he did. He only ever did anything with pace and that was his burst forward that ended up with him injured. It is speed of thought he needs to sharpen up, we were playing a formation that demands quick passing and movement, in the first half he was slowing it down. He also failed to get forward and provide any real help to the team at all. I really can only think of one thing he did right - kick Barton.
C. for who? It is not that simple, there is no one around to replace him. Before anyone says Rafa, I really couldn't handle watching that slow methodical everyone deep football again.}

I agree with most of the Ed's reply, especially the Arsenal analogy. I thought the same thing, except to say we're more like a poor man's Arsenal. Teams can get at us and we look lost if Gerrard or Suarez are not making things happen.
More players need to step up to the mark. Or as is more likely, players need to be brought in, who will step up to the mark and make a difference.
Rigsby.

What like when we were battering madrid, 4-0 and man utd away by 4 goals, i guarantee if rafa had of been given the funds for the players he wanted we would not only be the best team in england but probably europe aswell, i love kenny but i would have rafa back any day {Ed001's Note - oh give it a rest, he also alienated most of the squad and lost the support of the players at the end. We had one half season of good football, after it was too late and we could have already had the title wrapped up. Sick of people who are so blinded talking absolute rubbish about Rafa and what great football we played.}

Great reply ed001, one of the few people that actually see the bigger picture on this page. so many fans are demanding a new manager but in the bigger picture who is actually out there? someone with experience and pedigree to survive the premier league? who wants the job? who we could realistically afford(in regards to wages)? who will happily deal with what will be a restrictive transfer transfer budget come the summer whilst the club continue to make a loss? many fans seem to forget that despite being out of management for 15 odd years kenny is still the 3rd most successful manager in the league! he's added one trophy and quite possibly will add a second.
inter milan are still reeling from rafa's reign and we are just finally clearing out the remains of his over paid acquisitions as it is. too many rose tinted glasses towards a manager that had never had a plan b away from 4-2-3-1 philosophy and was truly found out in the last 18 months of his managerial career at lfc and inter. quite simply boring football 90% of the time, no thanks!
i felt at the start of the season that our squad was the 5th strongest in the league, i expect we'll probably finish in and around there. the carling cup was a bonus and the f.a cup may still arrive too.

Just let out a bit of accidental wee
:-0

Liverpool might escape relegation if you TRUST in KK

21 Mar 2012 22:43:58
Love Kenny welshboy etc.Sadly its not about him.Bought badly.Poor tactics. Now that can get you by in odd Cup game, and it has.But as Shanks and clubs mantra always been-Leauges the barometer. We aint improved.Spent fair amount.Sorry Kenny, youve steadied us,but endve season you got to go upstairs fella.NOT GOOD ENOUGH

21 Mar 2012 22:43:58
Any bit of respect i had for kenny as a manager has gone. If Liverpool are going to progress on and off the pitch we need a manager who can make the right decisions. What is the point of increasing the capacity of Anfield or building a new stadium. Who in their right mind would want to grow up watching us and spend their hard earned money on tickets.

21 Mar 2012 22:42:10
Anybody else really angry? So angry u could give up watching football? Because that is how i feel! Sickened,upset,low.....all the words come to mind. Not even the f.a cup can give us hope. If kenny is to go, who can possibly replace him? There is nobody out there who can hit it off. And do we trust kenny will buy us some class players if he gets the money in the summer? Sorry to be a derpressant but it has come to this.

21 Mar 2012 22:41:48
Ed do you know why Shelvey is being overlooked by kenny? He's a better player than Adam and Henderson yet never gets played {Ed002's Note - It is the manager's decision who he plays. I cannot rationalise his pick of the team.}

21 Mar 2012 22:41:24
I thoughh we played well up to the point the second goal was scored. Then everything fell apart. I cannot believe that professional footballers paid millions a year would capitulate just like that. Complacency, arrogance, whatever, Kenny has to sort it out. If we had played with the same intensity for the last 20 minutes as we did for the first 70 this would not have happened.

21 Mar 2012 22:28:28
Terrible last 15 minutes lost the game, cant fully just blame Kenny for that.

To be honest, we knew we weren't going to get champions league after the arsenal game, which I felt even worse when we lost.

If we sack Kenny, who is good enough to replace him?
at the moment no one with premier league experience, who could take us back top.
I think we should give him one more full season.

John

Ofc you cant blame King Kenny, the team sucks

Time has come to go all out for Jose M.

And another £100M ?! ;)

One thing I know for sure Woy is having a laugh.....

Back to the top lol.youve obviously just stepped out of a space craft that has been traveling at the speed of light for the last 22yrs mate.get real ffs

21 Mar 2012 22:27:46
woeful defending ; final third - the usual poor final ball we relied on a brilliant goal by Coates as we did against Everton ( three great goals by Stevie ) We talk about Champs league but imagine if we defended like that against a top euro team - it could be really embarrassing !
Forget about Champs league for a while it might be humbling to get battered by a so called run of the mill team.
Keep the faith and remember the good times, no doubt we we will win the FA Cup depending which team turns up - Jeckyll or Hyde ?
Just like to play the same team until the end of the season with Luis, Carroll and Craig up front with Stevie just behind. We need to kill teams of early and maybe we need some luck up front and some steely determination in defence please ? !

21 Mar 2012 22:27:44
The league position does not lie and it ain't looking very good. Carrol is proving to be a real waste of money. Henderson may come good in the end but one can legitimately l question the wisdom of signing him for such a high fee. Surely for16-20m we should be signing players who already further forward in their development. These are two very expensive mistakes. Even though mathematically possible 4th spot is completely blown. Kk should use the remainder of the season to give 3 or 4 youngsters a real opportunity. Ngoo, silva, suso, shelvey and Coady should be given at least 3 games each to show what they can do. Reality Red

21 Mar 2012 22:27:40
Last week fans were crowing about winning the Carling Cup - now it's a 2nd rate Cup - unbelievable! It's assured us of European football and whatever anyone says this is important. I said several weeks ago that it is time to blood some of the younger players and today has strengthened that view. I know that some of the Editors say that they are too lightweight but you can say that of some of today's team. I am sure that Dalglish and his staff know which players are going to leave in the summer and they should be barred from the side right now. I don't expect the youngsters to come in to the side en masse but there are nine games in which they can learn in the hope that they can play more regularly next season.
Dutchmal

I think Carling Cup win, puts us in the qualifying stages of Europa League, not the actual tournament as yet.

RedSG

RedSG - nitpicker. 4th place would only put us in the qualifying stages of the Champions' League.

21 Mar 2012 22:26:18
not only tonights game but the bulk of games this season is unacceptable for a team of liverpools stature!! it must change and sooner rather than later, we need QUALITY players really badly or we will be in serious trouble if we are not already in it!! get the kids in until the end of the season to show a bit of passion that the club deserves. post the names of players you think we need and be truthful thanks!!

21 Mar 2012 22:26:09
Hi Eds.

Do you have any idea what the general feeling is inside the club both at managerial/boardroom level. Are they happy with our progress, our cup form has saved are poor league form this season. Are they generally happy with our summe signings? Enrique, Bellamy and possibly Clates have worked out well yet Henderson and Downing have not lived up to their huge price tags. Also what's the boards view on Kenny management. I hope he stays but if our league form continues to fail then questions maybe asked. Maybe if we win the FA Cup then the league might be forgotten for now. Also what do you yourselves Eds think about all of this?

Thanks for all the updates.

Stevie Jones

Top 4 and a cup was the target...

We've won a cup

Top 4 is now a NO as we're 12 pts behind and have played those top teams twice so no 6 pointers.

Met 50% of our targets and still can win one more.

Form is main concern at board level due to managing the fans expectations. FSG know fans like Liverpool's have highers expectations due to their history... if you don't meet fans expectations then profits can fall with a global brand... this is a concern.

Trust me, I'm a doctor ;-)

21 Mar 2012 22:19:44
If LFC have any self respect or ambition left then they MUST SACK KENNY!

Too many passengers being carried many signed by Kenny!

TIME TO GO

Idiot post of the week

You wont be saying that if we win the fa cup some big clubs are going to finish with nothing and your calling for kk to be sacked go support some one else

21 Mar 2012 22:23:47
We need to finish our chance's and keep the lead. Also our set piece marking needs to improve. come on red's were better then this.

ATM your not better than this tho but you should be with the money spent

21 Mar 2012 22:22:32
2-0 up, 13 mins to go, and we lose to a club
destined to go down! Who's fault is it now KK? The ref maybe? Should've had a pen maybe? Dodgy linesman maybe? Please somebody tell me. He(KK) has to go NOW! Ok we won the Carling Cup, against another Championship club and only on pens, and we're in the semis of the fa cup, after struggling against Stoke. It's not bloody good enough. There has to be a decent coach out there. Someone to take us forward. I think the owners should beg Rafa to come back and bring Nando and Xabi with him. Get shot of the Geordie carthorse. KK paid £35 million, £35 million! Ashley must be laughing his proverbials off.

You're from Manchester, aren't you

21 Mar 2012 22:21:49
Dalglish has got to take a long hard look at himself, we are average at best, carling cup holders...beat cardiff on penalties. Wont win the fa cup whilst spurs and chelsea are in it, henderson, downing, carroll, adam just rubbish, even under woy we would have held on to that lead, it makes me sick, the money wasted on these rubbish players makes me question dalglish. it aint even Man Utd or citeh, its QPR, bottom 3 team, heading down, 1 win in 9 home games and it comes against us...please dont question why we cant attract quality, just look at the garbage they would have to play with!

Neilos

Don't talk complete rubbish. It's fans like you that this club could do without. If your not behind the lads then go and support city

Mark

Mark, I have supported Liverpool for 30 odd years, they dont need me, they dont need you either? I am behind them but they are so far behind everyone else...I will support who I like and therefor have an opinion on what I like and my opinion is that Dalglish is not the man to take us forward, hes football is draconian, players not up to the job, take your blinkers off and see the wood through the trees!

21 Mar 2012 22:21:25
KK upstairs or maybe outside !
This sort of performance is unacceptable and Kenny knows it.
In Gods name what has Commoli done to earn his money ?
Sorry time to go .
Hate to say these things but enough is enough.
Even when we win I have doubts about several players, but to lose after being 2-0 up ????????

21 Mar 2012 22:20:03
Carroll, Adam spearing Henderson out! Not good enough for Liverpool. Average players with no qualiy

Finally, some sense being written on this website!
Keith

This is written nearly every day Keith, where have you been? Anyway its not sense its stupid, Carroll starting to show form Adam im not quite sure whats happened to him. Spearing and Henderson are young and still learning.

with no chance of gettin 4th place now time to give the youngsters some game time in the league and rest some 1st teamers for the fa cup

21 Mar 2012 22:17:30
very disappointing, particulalrly after getting past the potential "banana skins" of Everton and Stoke, I thought that LFC would put a run on and that QPR was a nailed on 3 points

So did the players - therein lies the problem.

LIVERPRES

Gutted to concede 3 goals from inside penalty area is abysmal. We were not robbed we gave it away....Bobbinred

21 Mar 2012 22:16:23
Great result for liverpool tonight maybe you lot can fight over who's better Kenny or Hogson instead of posting crap on the arsenal page never forget the 80s

Yeah and never forget that you have never won the champions league

At least we are gonna be in it

At least they've got a realistic chance of playing in it next season....

RedSG

How many premier league titles do liverpool have

21 Mar 2012 22:16:20
gutted with that result. Have to say we completly out played qpr tonight and when we were 2-0 up was thinking how well we were playing but to lose 3-2 is unbelevable. Now I'm not one for calling Kenny's head but things need to improve in thr league, it's no good playing well and not winning. we have dropped points this year to some poor poor sides such as qpr, bolton ,blackburn, wigan and thats not good enough for Liverpool. If it was the odd freak result I could understand but it's been to consistant, so is this because that's the level of are team or have we just been unlucky.

The summers going to be a big one and we need to get it right. I still believe kennys the man but the pressure is on now.

First 3 lines pretty sums up our season

21 Mar 2012 22:16:05
Anybody who doesn't know what the phrase 'snatch & grab' means when talking about football will be made to watch that game.

Being a Liverpool supporter can be frustrating, but hey we played well but them cheap goals cost us again.

To the people slating Kenny for taking Suarez off, he was dead on his fett around the 70th minute so it was right to, hindsight is great eh?

KT!

It's 'smash and grab'.

I honestly have no idea why i wrote snatch, i blame the shock.

Still apllies.

KT!

I prefer snatch

21 Mar 2012 22:16:00
The only player to commit his future to lfc! suarez best player by far again tonite gets taken off! Downing no crosses again tonite henderson adam useless andy caroll no words 80 m well spent i think given more money next year we will make the championship. If only benitez had that money to spend never saw a game as bad as that with him charge. no competition for places in the team just kennys freinds on social.

Wondered how long it would be before I read the name Benitez
You clueless muppett

21 Mar 2012 22:15:42
I am an avid liverpool supporter but have not been interested in my beloved team since Kenny Dalglishs appointment. Eds 001 and 002 can vouch for the fact that I have constantly slated KD from the very beginning, even before his first match in charge.

I hope this teaches you guys a lesson to think with ur head and not with ur heart in future. Dalglish will quit as he has done in many of his managerial roles but it will be sugar coated and presented in the media as a move to an ambassadorial role.

There is no way on earth he will be our manager next year...the americans do not play around and they, like me, will have seen enough to suggest that Kenny is second rate.

All you guys laughing at me when I said to bring in Benitez or Mourinho I bet you aint laughing now lol

Benitez and Mourinho are the only solutions if we are to compete next season and we should break the bank to bring either of them here.

We truly are a mid table team these days. Do not let our carling cup win fool you, that cup is mickey mouse at best and we were forced to penalties by a championship side.

Kennys reputation will now be in tatters...I warned you all.

Leo

Rafa Benitez? I'm laughing at you
Avid Liverpool supporter? I'm laughing even harder

rafa benitez eventually failed at lfc due to his stubborn nature and inability to play any other formation than 4-2-3-1. in the last season we were forced to play narrow by every team and he had no answer. he also then took the european champions of inter milan and made them a mid table team which got him sacked again after mourinho left him a team instiled with a winning mentality. they're the basic facts of the last 16months of benitez and his managerial skils.
let it go.

can't Completly blame kenny the players must take responsibility we should be good enough to see out a 2 goal lead and that's what kenny thought too! it was very poor to lose 3 goals, I blame the players myself.

Square tomato

100% blame the players - if we had won 2-0 you'd all be singing Kenny's praises. He didn't change his tactics at the end except to take Luis off who was knackered. The defence let us down for once.

i have decided im not watching league games anymore just gonna stick to the cup games.
thanks

Same here mate, and i went nuts to See every game, even during the hodgson-era. not that he's the better coach, but it feels just like a dead-end street right now.

Ian Ayre booked onto SSN tomorrow at 5.30pm where he will announce that following tonight's implosion the owners have changed their minds and will no longer be supporting the King.

Seriously though, surely giving a youngster or two a chance cannot be any worse than using out of form players such as Adam and Henderson.

The Jackal.

I haver to agree - we have nothing to play for in the league now - not even pride in my opinion. Bring in some young kids to give our first teamers a kick up the rear, to remind them that it is a privilledge to play for LFC, not a right - hunger and heart needs to be reinstated. Just because we are LFC, it doesnt give us a divine right to take 3 points from "smaller" teams - we have to earn them, which means playing a full 90 minutes. What a joke we are - we are a "smaller" team at the moment.

Give the kids a go.

21 Mar 2012 22:14:17
time to accept that no matter how much the football style may have improved the players that kenny has bought are not good enough.
proof - a poor adam gets subbed and carroll and henderson are subs to start??
we miss a free transfer - bellers and we can't cover the loss of lucas despite spending 100m.
QPR stats are awful before tonight, regardless of domination of the game yet again we self destruct.
this is kenny's team now and it either can't score or can't defend when it does manage to score more than 1.
sick of hearing about bad luck, woodwork strikes and second best defence - simply look at the league table.
shanks said the league is our bread and butter, the one we want to win every year. he said he'd like to win the european cup one day but he always wants to win the league. so forget the cups and give us a team that can once again profess to be amongst the best in the land.
this lot are over hyped, over paid and believe their own press too much. shanks also said he reminded his players that they were privileged to play for us................this team has not the heart or strength of character that the fans have, players like carroll, downing, adam, johnson, henderson just don't posses the qualities to represent our great club.
I believe kenny is giving everything he has and is trying his best as he loves the club like all of us however the results just are not good enough, rafa, houllier, souness, hodgson all delivered similar league results.....before anyone says it's only been 1 season, no of them got 100m to spend in one season.
cups should not gloss over this lack of league improvement - we are shocking.
ALB.

I had a feeling this was going to happen when it was 2-1. Shocked

21 Mar 2012 22:12:46
Has KKs crown slipped yet r you lot still in denial ? He's not up to the job - was a little peeved when City scraped their expected win and u lot were cruising - then I switched over to listen to some match reaction and imagine my surprise nay joy when I found the wheels had fallen off yet again lol

He's the only manager that has won a trophy this season and is the only manager that could possibly win 2 trophies from the list of premier league managers.
in 15months he's already equalled harry redknapp's tally in his whole spurs managerial career and done more than wenger has in 6 and 3/4 seasons soon to be 7. he's also the 3rd most successful manager in the league despite having a rest for 15 years. mockery will get you nowhere. if his crown has slipped then the managers that are around him are really in trouble too.

21 Mar 2012 22:12:10
That was a game we shouldn't have drawn, never mind lost. So, so wasteful and we can't see out the game when they get a goal back.
It shows we lack leaders. Not enough players willing to take responsibilty. Too much is left down to Gerrard and Suarez.
I just wish Downing had a bit of fire in his belly; he'd be a far more dangerous player.
Ah well, we'll have to see what happens in the summer but we need more quality and character.
Rigsby.

21 Mar 2012 22:11:56
I'm guessing tonight that we will see the return of the kenny fans and the others or realist fans tonight.
Then kenny fans believing that because of his past he is untouchable which he is not and the realists that see things how they are and believe that they need to be dealt with.
I am a realist and believe that nowadays history means everything but it shouldn't be used to be complacent and for appalling excuses to be covered up
I am dumbfounded and can't make words, we all knew that when they scored they would equalise and win especially when kk took luis off so that he could get a clap?
Also one other thing I read rather other day that we have won 8/9 games that Adam has started on the bench, he is not good enough so why play him today
Coates super strike should be the only thing we remember from tonight
Speechless red!

21 Mar 2012 22:11:10
KD is my all time hero, the greatest player to ever wear a Red Jersey. As a manager the 1st time around, he had the full support of our most successful manager, Bob Paisley. When Bob stood down from his supporting role, KD started to struggle as a manager. I was always a bit on the fence about him returning as a manager, but thought, let's see if he can still cut it. The answer to that question my fellow reds, is a resounding NO. If proof was ever needed, then tonights game was it. I don't really have to say anymore.

What did KK do wrong? He had us winning 2-0 until our players wilted.

What did he do wrong. His negative tactics towards the end of the game, as always, and unless you have a short memory, they are the players he bought. Open your eyes man.

21 Mar 2012 22:10:28
Today's game shows that our players have given up the fight for the forth place, they might say they haven't but it pretty clear they have, QPR had no hope in winning that game but we handed it to them on the plate, our player stopped playing around the 60 minutes mark.
Good luck to QPR with the survival.

abbs

21 Mar 2012 22:10:16
I don't believe! How can you lose when you are so in control of a game. kenny needs to stop being so pally pally with the players. He needs to start knocking some heads togerther and if he thinks Cara is a right back needs to look at himself. Not by a long way good enough.

AC Milan lost CL final against us while they were 3-0 up and in control of the game, even teams at the bottom can win games once you stop competing against them.

21 Mar 2012 22:10:08
that was shoking. a complete joke of a last 15 minutes. i didn't think our squad was arrogant like that but i was wrong. you look around the world for millions of players and people who'd kill to play for liverpool, even youngsters would die for the shirt and we can't even get 90 minutes out of our boys ? a disgracful display i hope to never see a repeat of that. hopefully lessons were learned.

21 Mar 2012 22:10:02
Hang on guys i think calling for kennys head is a bit silly we are playin good pass and move football creating a bucket full of chances the only mistake kenny has made is not getting a striker in jan if he did we would be in to 4!!!

21 Mar 2012 22:09:54
See my message of 18.47, hate to say told you so but, well , as none of you reds could reply to me with any confidence, maybe you thought it too !! Too many poor players i am afraid. Just like at bolton, a team that had only won 2 home games all season beats the reds. Criminal losing a two goal lead and that was rank bad defending. Controlling games for x amount of minutes wins you sweet fa. What happend to our professionalism, killing the game off, holding onto the ball and make them work harder and harder. QPR not won for 11 games then we stroll into town ! Started off bright again but this not putting the ball away is killing us. Why did they smell blood as soon as the first goal went in though ? Big questions need big answeres guys.

Mick

21 Mar 2012 22:09:50
That's about as unprofessional as you can get. I hate to say it, but finishing 7th or below, regardless of cup success is just not good enough. I am sure another manager can get more from the players. How many times have we screwed up this season. There's a pattern here, poor tactics, poor substitutions, and no doubt we will get poor excuses. The teams above us are crap, yet we still cannot catch them. Unbelievably depressing. I wasn't expecting to finish top two this year, but this is just pants.
Red First & Last.

21 Mar 2012 22:09:08
Funny thing is, QPR really didn't even play all that well in the last 15 minutes. They had 3 attempts and scored 3

21 Mar 2012 22:08:51
seriuosly i give up with lfc with this season, still thought we could get top 4 but no. supported kenny all the way but now im questioning whether he should be here next season
remember noone is bigger then the club and if kenny should be fired then he should be fired no matter his status

21 Mar 2012 22:08:14
Fustrating Yes. Poor Result Yes. Should have won the game Yes. Credit to QPR they kept going and the inability to defend crosses cost us 2 goals and the last was just one of those things that happen.

Is the King dead, not yet. The League is a write off this season. CL qualification is laughable but let's wait until the end of the season before starting to demand a new manger. The performance was actually quite positive going forward.

Rafalution II anyone?

21 Mar 2012 22:08:00
When you buy world class midfielders such as Adam ad Henderson what do you expect. Neither of them have the ability or the potential to dominate the midfield, hence we will always be battered with pressure from the opposition.

21 Mar 2012 22:07:33
28 points behind Man Utd is simply not good enough even with cup win or cup wins! - in the league we are not gaining to many players not good enough and need to be moved on they are not Liverpool class

21 Mar 2012 22:06:53
This should not be happening...2 up against QPR and then losing 3-2. This is not acceptable....heads need to roll!!

21 Mar 2012 22:06:52
I feel like Reina hasnt made a single save all season. All the other gks pull off heroics constantly...

21 Mar 2012 22:06:45
Our Cup runs are just papering over the cracks.
so fed up with it.

21 Mar 2012 22:06:41
got to say I'm disappointed with the result tonight, and some of Kenny's decisions baffle me.

Why play Carra at right back? He's too slow and offers nothing going forward when we are desperate for width (Hendo and Kuyt dont offer much as out and out wide players)

Why play Suarez up front on his own? It makes it easier to mark him out of the game and he ends up trying to do more and more on his own with no support.

Changes are left too late to have any impact. Carroll creates space for Suarez when they play together but when he came on he was isolated and came too deep to get involved (once when gerrard picked up the ball on the left Carroll was behind him in the left back position)

Enrique was at fault for QPR's 3rd goal, he has worried me a couple of times by being too casual and we payed for it tonight.

Got to say well done to QPR though, as a club at the bottom they could have crumbled at 2-0 down but they kept coming.

I thought Spearing had another good game, and Coates took his goal exceptionally well, fingers crossed we'll see more of those.

21 Mar 2012 22:05:32
Cant really believe tonights game. Starting to Question whether kenny can attract the type of player needed to significantly improve us next season. the players we have evidently aren't playing for him. crappy cup competitions just aint progress in my eyes. europa league is a miserable thursday night punishment for u nderachievement. somethings gotta change for next season.

21 Mar 2012 22:05:31
I love Liverpool and I always will. Everyone can complain all they want and yes i'm disappointed with the lose. But at the end of the day if you don't still love the team because of a bad run and bad times that we will get out of you can go support man city or chelsea for all I care. You'll Never Walk Alone

Red Rat

To be honest lad if people dindt love the club they wouldnt be cursing they would be laughing.

Im glad there is some real supporters i can agree with, rubbish result tho.

aussiepool tristan

21 Mar 2012 22:05:20
I posted before the game that I hope Kenny didn't regret not starting with Carroll. How wrong was I he's probably regretting bringing him on!

21 Mar 2012 22:04:44
Sickening kick in the teeth! To lose 3-2 when we are 2-0 up...loss for words. We really need to work on defending from corners and set pieces. Singred

Can't believe it losing to a smaller team when we are leading is like having a needle go through ur heart.... Am in Kenya and feel this pain what about the fans who were at the game feel....?

21 Mar 2012 22:04:36
what is henderson!? shelvey is a much better player

Don't blame that on hendo! it was a team failure

I totally agree....the poor guy was scoring goals for blackpool only to be return back to sit on the bench

21 Mar 2012 22:04:23
Can someone please tell me why we did not buy a striker in jan i just dont get it its crazy if we did surley we would be in top 4 the amount of chances we creat is incredible but then so is the amount we miss its so frustrating!!!i

21 Mar 2012 22:04:20
3 goals in the last 15. What a frustrating season this has been, I am not sure what everyone else thinks but this is the lowest point in this disappointing season for me so far.

21 Mar 2012 22:04:06
their is no end product from downing and keeps on giving the ball away to the opposition.

That sounds like Kuyt , except for tap ins of course

missing the champions league?
you will never be there again

Missing winning a trophy??
You never will see one again!! Birmingham ooh embarrassing

We have 5 of them, you'll never win it hhhh

You can only talk when you win a trophy, let alone the champions league!

We'll see

A bit like the way your missing winning things

Maybe but you will never win it

Missing dusting the trophy cabinet? Heard wenger had the board sell it, isn't much use to arsenal

Boasting about winning the carling cup shows how much of a small club you have become

21 Mar 2012 22:03:01
looking at liverpool vs QPR was horrific almost scary we wont win fa cup if we lose matches in this style

21 Mar 2012 22:02:58
When Kuyt scored the 2nd in the 70ish min, I actually fist pumped knowing we're LIVERPOOL FC, we're home dry. When have we lost a game from the 70th min being 2 goals up(doesn't happen)....wtf just happened???

Lee YNWA

21 Mar 2012 22:02:57
i can not believe wat I have just seen, we turned in a commanding 75 minutes then went to sleep and got beat by a team that was praying for a point. Why did Henderson come on? could we not have brought Carroll on and played Kuyt out wide? Henderson although still young and will come good has had a huge dip in form recently and should not have played, he was at fault for goals one and two, and by then our heads had dropped and was only a matter of time in my opinion.

Downing is starting to look like the player we signed from Villa so that was a plus and Suarez and Gerrard are starting to link well, another positive.

3 points thrown away because of sloppy defending, far too inconsistent this year, lets hope for better soon.

Personally i think reina was to blame for the first 2 goals.in my day of been a keeper you was told to dominate your 6 yard box.pepe was rooted on his line for both,he could o been out nd caught or even punched away.

21 Mar 2012 22:02:56
Hi eds plz post on rumours, i have still been pretty optimistic throughout the season that we could yet make a push for CL. I think the likes of hendo, adam and downing are all getting better game by game ! However ive just sat through 90 minutes agaisnt QPR of what should have been ( and looked to have been till the 77 min ) a complete walk over and a easyish win ! i have now decided that we do not deserve CL because we cant keep saying we will fight for it then do this every week ! But will this affect the club looking at more new players in the summer? thanks eds
Jamesp

21 Mar 2012 22:02:29
So, another dismal performance against a second rate team (no disrespect but not a good team at all) and another bad performance from our managment team. Why was Henderson even on the bench, never mind on the pitch after his recent poor performances, why was Carrol not on the pitch from the start(we are trying to build a partnership after all , and how the hell did we loose a 2 goal lead.....not saying sack kk, but can he be trusted with that prat Cammoli to spend more money or will he just buy more total pony.Pinhead,

Maybe you should manage liverpool ?

21 Mar 2012 22:02:21
Oh! Well we didn't get the 3 points our play deserved,
Spearing tired as the game went on, should not have brought carroll on, should've tightened the midfield with 10 minutes to go.
kidmillions

Spearing didn't tire he was just put under pressure and couldn't cope, cause he's hyped up by the Carra brigade. He's average mate AVERAGE.

I'm getting tired of saying that now, same old same old.

Stone YNWA.

21 Mar 2012 22:01:56
Hmmmm i don't know what happened there!
Did we just conceede 3 goals in like 10 minutes?
Well i'm sure you all will blame KD but why? Its the idividual players who let the club down not KD
Jose enrique shoulda marked his man instead of trying to push on for goals and coates is deffinatly not ready to hold the line in the prem
One think i will say is that you cant play steven gerrard in a 5 midfield and you need a Carrol with a suarez atm!
Usually Positive Red!

21 Mar 2012 22:01:46
please god heal lucas asap .

Couldn't say anything much better myself

Lucas wont be t5he saviour everyone expects him to be when he comes back. It will take him 6 - 12 months to get back to anywhere near the form he was at! Its the same situation with Gerrard, we wont see his best until next season.

Steve

21 Mar 2012 22:01:44
ANOTHER 3 points dropped to ANOTHER bottom team, now 12 points off 4th place and 5 points behind Newcastle, and ONLY 3 points ahead of Swansea for 8th place, seems to me heading DOWN the league towards the end of the season
BYE BYE KENNY

21 Mar 2012 22:01:39
I wont even say we were unlucky. We let them back into the game. Henderson came on and did nothing. He and Adam better find some way to become world class overnight or they are doomed. On a serious note we do play better without them. Good goal by Coates today and a reasonable effort by Downing. Carroll was never truly going to contribute much and he takes away a bit (sometimes more) of our pass and move play. Reina hasnt been great this season, he really only seems to react to attempts from distance and also as of lately is being beaten to easily in one and ones, nonetheless I still regard him as one of the best.

21 Mar 2012 22:01:38
Played pro and semi pro as a goalkeeper so im saying my opinion is relevant but Reina hasnt been great this year, he used to command on a crossed ball but this season he just stays back or flaps....And how come so many goals are scored through a keepers legs nowadays!..............poor....wouldnt have happened in my day lol!.....I feel old now.........

I said the same before i used to be a keeper and we was told to dominate the 6 yard box.reina should of had the first 2 crosses.instead he was rooted on his line, his decision making at mo is poor

Never mind Wigan saturday massive 3 points needed

very unhappy, to go from winning to losing it just shows the team have defense issues we must sort out. We have to keep clean sheets, we are at a vital time now.
I hope this will spur the team to better results and teach them to not lose concentration. The boys did play well though.Suck it up and move on and learn from our mistakes nothing else you can do.

21 Mar 2012 22:00:14
I know this might sound a little harsh but I feel it could be for the best......! I'm a massive dalglish fan and I think he is a true Red! He is an absolute legend and I also feel that he has built a very good squad....but I think that he has done his bit for liverpool as a manager! I think we need to look for a manger that will manage the mighty reds for dacades. Don't get me wrong dalglish has turned things round so much since Roy but we don't have any consistency and that is what we need to get ourselves back into contention for a champions league position!

Yeap good calming job KK.And brought some togetherness to club. But hes done best could.Change needed, endve season

21 Mar 2012 22:00:13
How we lost this match is beyond me. We should have beaten QPR 4-0 and yet we lost 3-2. No wonder we're 7th and have lost all chance of a champions league place. Tactically we were naive after QPR scored from the corner. Why can't we defend corners and crosses? I'm not calling for KK's head but he can't be a happy man after tonight.

21 Mar 2012 22:00:13
Absoloute crap how can we let them overturn a 0-2 lead. Things need to change i'm sorry but were no better off from when woy was in charge..................

21 Mar 2012 22:00:01
Unbelievable, I now see why all other teams laugh at us, 2 0 up 13 mins to go against a team who is awful !

At least now we can put fourth to bed and fifth.

No matter what we say about rebuilding, 100 million spent should be teams like qpr!

Kenny you are a legend but not a manager

Wow this is reaction will be brutal. Jenny to go, Adam Carroll Henderson were all terrible etc etc etc.
Reality is it was good attacking performance, downing looked like a new signing, great goal by coates, suazez played well and spearing was good.
League results are irrelavent now. Liverpool were unlucky, and rangers were lucky. Not too bad. Would be a great season to win both cups.

That's wat we get when we buy average player inconsitence good profamce one day bad the next day poor defending

Well frustrated to live, indeed. What a s**t. Disgusting... its more of a slap than 3 points gone. leading by 2 and still conceding 3 against a team that has won long time ago. defeat against relegation battlers. Awful to accept. :(

21 Mar 2012 21:58:50
ok something needs to be done... like ok the carling cup, who cares, Fa Cup yes ok grand, but at the end the day champions league and PL are the only thing i care about, cause there the big ones, like, something needs to be done....

21 Mar 2012 21:58:50
How bout them apples lol... That's what happens when you think you've got the game won against a so-called weaker team. Well done QPR. As for Liverpool, very disappointing. What a chance to get back in the hunt for top 4 but we choked and can surely kiss CL footy goodbye now. The FA Cup will do i guess. Bring it on!

Games like these are why were lucky to get Europa League!

21 Mar 2012 21:58:25
Just finished watching the game like everyone else and here is my take:

First of all, why do we always take a lead and then just sit back and defend it? We're not QPR at Anfield we're Liverpool at Loftus Road go 2 up and go for more - don't take Suarez off leave him on to get his deserved goal! Kenny's first two subs were ok simply because Coates scored and he left Kuyt up top and he also scored but 3rd sub as I said was poor. I'd love to know Ed1's take on this thing about us sitting back when we go ahead - it's very frustrating!

Depressed Red!

shocking last two seasons now same old story kick a teams arse for 70 minues then blow it why cant we just keep the ball last ten minutes and kill the game off! struggle against the small clubs time and time again cant wait fo wigan...

21 Mar 2012 21:57:10
Nooooooooooooooooo why are we having such a messed up season? WHY?
Ive tried to stay positive for so long all year ive actually convinced myself to smile when im actually bloody depressed i cant sleep right till the next week!!
It was too bad while man city was at top but now the utd is and theyre going to pull one back on us!
I couldnt take it when they went 19 and kept saying next season we'll take revenge but theyre walking away with it now and with teams like city/chelsea/arsenal/tottenham all GETTING results week in week out, we have no hope for atleasf the next couple of seasons :'(
Disillusioned, Depressed!

21 Mar 2012 21:57:08
Well that game has actually p*ssed me off. All of the players need to take some blame not good enough none of them look like they want to play for the team apart from a few. Absolute Joke

21 Mar 2012 21:56:56
Nooooooooooo!!
I want to cry.
Astonishingly Unbelievable.

Tom in wolves

21 Mar 2012 21:56:55
Never been one to jump on the team when it's not going right, but to lose 3-2 after being 2-0 up to a team in the bottom 3... serious questions need asking of everyone, players, coaching, management, simple really 2-0 up.. play simple keep ball football! and someone please show them how to take the chances they do make, should've been out of sight by half time yet, again blew it!

How many times are we going to see the team f**k up before they finally learn the lessons!

El Diablo!

21 Mar 2012 21:56:53
i think team in bottom always feel its liverpool which they can take three points away, bolton, wigan, blackburn, and now qpr.

21 Mar 2012 21:56:45
Hey eds,
I heard a crazy rumour that we threw away a two goal lead to QPR. Any truth in that?

That's UNBELIEVEABLE

21 Mar 2012 21:56:44
Oh my god!!!!!! What happened????

21 Mar 2012 21:56:43
pa-bleeping-thetic. 2-0 up and threw it away. Midfield evaporated and defence didn't have a clue

21 Mar 2012 21:56:43
to many bad players and kenny is not helping with his poor poor poor poor tactics and that has to be a bad nite for any fan ynwa so sick of it now

21 Mar 2012 21:56:43
watched the game tonight how any one can say we dont need major signings amazes me if we cant afford it fine we will just be a top half team it was a dreadful performance we are not good enough doing well in the cups are just papering over the cracks as for the last 10 years too many players just not good enough if we want to challenge for title what does the eds or anyone else think?

21 Mar 2012 21:56:38
A disappointing result but lets keep our chins up and support the club. I would of took a point at the start of the night. I know its hard when you lose a two goal lead but we are having a brilliant season and lets not be fickle. As i say things dont happen overnight but we are building just nicely and i suppose we after put our efforts into winning the fa cup and pick as many points as we can.

Maybe our squad got a bit stretched tonight but things will come within time.

Kenny has done an amazing job so far so lets keep on supporting him and the club.

Mighty reds

What medication are you on?

21 Mar 2012 21:56:21
what the hell happened there you could see kennys reaction he couldnt believe it.no communication at the back.yet again we shud of won by half time battered them totally then at 2-0 sat back and thought weve won this.kenny needs to read the riot act for that.DORSET RED

21 Mar 2012 21:55:48
couldnt care less that hes called kenny dalglish and i couldnt care less weve won the carling cup, we have no bottle and we cant finish, i say new manager, kennys past it! Let the slating commence! Tonight was embarressing....

How the hell was that kennys fault we give away to many corners and free kicks...we went to crap simple as

It was the players who let him down

I agree mate.... yes he is a legend but look at money we have wasted on henderson, downing ,carroll and co and yet we arnt improving we are in same league position as we were under hodgson so wots the differance? yes we won a carling cup but we had to do it on pens against a championship team and any half decent team can do well in cup competitions but u need consistoncy and quality in the league which we havnt got. look at newcastle 5 points in front of us, newcastle that were near bottom of league last season, wot changed? oh yeah we gave them 35 million for carroll. who got the best deal?????

I agree has to go

It was kennys fault simple . He bought that shower of s**t. And last time i checked he is the 1 who picks the team and tactics. Sentiment dont mean bolix in football its about putting points on the table. If we want the club to progress we need a manager who can actually make the right decisions on and off the pitch.

It's his team.

They are his players.

Enough is enough - I defended him until I couldn't anymore. It's all over now.

Inept, incompetent, we only scored twice because of forced changes.

The lineup from the start was a joke. The first 45 abysmal - Kuyt laughable - he scored after being forced to play upfront with Suarez - that's the only place he's any good. But Kenny plays him wide - pathetic.

Then he manages to break that up too by bringing on Carroll for Suarez - our worst combination, whilst defending a lead.

Enrique is a poor defender, that Glen Johnson gets abuse about poor defending is beyond me. He's better defensively than Enrique. But he's not to blame for everything, he has had good games too.

Bringing on Coates and moving Carra to RB is ridiculous.

I don't think Henderson knew what he was supposed to be doing - he seemed to be trying to swap wings with Downing - what the hell was that about.

By the end I don't think we had a formation tbh - we were like a pub team.

Very annoyed. Beyond hope now. At this rate we may finish 10th.

How the hell are we supposed to improve with Kenny breaking up anything that works.

It's the first time I have ever written these words - and it makes me sad to do so.

Kenny out.

BJH YNWA.

ps - QPR are abysmal. The worst team in the league. I love the Pool, I still love Kenny - time to bow out. He was caretaker and got us into Europe, even if we finish 10th, FA Cup or not. The next manager can thank him for that.

Will he go now or the end of the season, I'd say they'll let him stay for the FA Cup run, but this is a Hodgson/Rafa's last yearesque low.

21 Mar 2012 21:55:30
A disgrace to the liverpool jersey

Disgrace to the north west! LOL!
KK will turn you back into euro qualifiers ;)

DodgyBanter

Well if this is progress we better hope one of the lads has a good voice as it seems the only way we will qualify for europe after next season is if we enter the eurovision lol

Ps just thought maybe the players are having singing lessons and thats the progress that kennys talking about as theirs no progress on the pitch

21 Mar 2012 21:55:21
surely that has to be the end for kenny dalglish, how do you throw away a 2goal lead. simply not good enough, in fact diabolical.

21 Mar 2012 21:55:20
simply disgusted.

21 Mar 2012 21:55:17
really really embarrassing, bad decisions with the team again, bad substitutions, Adam poor again before he went off, just not good enough against a bottom 3 side, on tonights performance all the top 4 would have done QPR 5-0 no disrespect to them at all,

Dagleish isn't stubborn do you think adam would be in the team if lucas weren't injured ? the last 15 was a disgrace and lessons were learned.

21 Mar 2012 21:54:57
What is there to say?

21 Mar 2012 21:54:54
TIME to face up to the facts lads were a mid table club now absolutely pathetic performance from the team tonight. some major decisions for the owners to make in the summer. 1 on agenda as hard as it is to say is getting rid of kenny. what possesed him to take off suarez the only player who was causing a threat the whole game . bye kenny

21 Mar 2012 21:54:48

21 Mar 2012 21:54:33
Not good enough Liverpool. We just are not moving forward, yet another crap season in the league.

21 Mar 2012 21:54:33
I hope we dont win the fa cup. It will just divert the attention away from what has been piss poor performance in the league.

Well, whatever it means. I'd wish that we win it. But what a disgrace was today. played brilliant but what crap. loosing against relegation battlers, even when leadin by 2. Disgraceful. :(

Dont be so spiteful and stupid how can you want us not to win silverwere you know what gone go off and support man u you'll fit in well there

21 Mar 2012 21:54:18

21 Mar 2012 21:52:49
Can someone please tell me how this season can be an improvement as we are nearer the bottom than top on points? And by the looks it of getting even nearer the bottom. Why when we actually score goals does the defence decide to take the night off. What a load of b******s

We go 2-0 up and just sits back! Why oh why do we do it, united went 2 up the other day and kept on attacking - we invite trouble by doing what we did tonight...

21 Mar 2012 21:48:41
Post on banter plz ed :)
I think Kenny got something wrong with the formation today!
As we've seen over the past few games, playing two upfront has been one of the reasons that our season has seen signs of revival..
Having Carroll upfront allows defenders to be occupied giving Suarez and others i.e gerrard/downing room to manouever in and around the box more freely..
Secondly, Carroll has shown vast amounts of improvement in his iming of headers, positioning and most importantly linking with suarez!
However, he's the man at the helm, steering this club at the right direction and he may know something i dont (Y)
Anyway, i just hope we get the 3 points in the bag and look forward to the game on the weekend!!
P.S thaaaaank goood man city WONNNNN :D

Skirts that was the worst dfending i ever seen. if an ubderage kid defended like that he would get a boloking. very bad

21 Mar 2012 21:46:37
Kenny needs to be sacked tonight that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Bet you were celebrating reaching the semi final on Saturday...

INDEED. What a disaster! Should this be Liverpool standard? Do we fans deserve this?

Agree x 100

Why sack kenny, he brought on carrol for suarez when we r 2 zip up, sounds more like the defence needing to be made redundant, wat has kenny done wrong really? aussiepool tristan

All cant be blamed on kenny the players thought the game was one and obviously it wasent unlucky on the 3rd but all chances must be taken

Now let this s**t off. he wasn't playing. Conceding 3 is absolutely disgraceful.

Absolutely shocking result qpr havin won in f**king 2 months, we always seem to be the roll over boys ive noticed teams seem to break there ducks and players break there goal drought against us, were bejond a joke now, i dont care about the cups, the league was the aim, i love liverpool but falling out of love :(

Such an UNBELIEVABLY ignorant post. I'm just as gutted as anyone else, but it's one game. We've still won the League Cup and in the Semi's for the FA. And besides, what could another Manager really do? Inject some kind of magic into the team to start winning the Premiership and Champions League? Dalglish has brought the team on leaps and bounds since he's took over, and he's done it in a much shorter time than it should of took. Liverpool are a work in progress and until then we'll be a bit inconsistent, but I do 100% agree that loss is unacceptable. Either way with the 'new Manager' crap though, keep dreaming mate. If Dalglish takes our team to become one of the best in the next couple of Seasons, I'm sure you'll be singing his name proudly. Get behind your club and understand there's going to be some bad days, and some good days, rather than just requesting for a new Manager, which is completely and utterly stupid and just shows a lack of common sense.

When the pressure came, where was our Hobbit who was hyped as the next Makele? Waving his hands and running after people that's where. I was watching him tonight, trying to figure out what the fuss is about him.He 's a average player and that's being borderline average.Fans are kidding themselves thinking he's good enough.I know you can't just blame him.Carra was useless too.Hendo and Adam waste of space. But Spearing my god he's so Hyped and he's average!

Leave it to the end of the season and let him step down he deserves more respect than that

Or perhaps that is the reason why we are not doing so well because any one else would have been goin ages ago

Tactically naive at best, seems out of his depth. He was just what the club needed following the turmoil of the two prats and Hodgson. But know we need a modern forward looking manager, a Guardiola or Mourinho, even Rafa

Think you spoke to soon there pal.

Bet you regret saying that now!

Whole game watched and there you go

Erm...this is awkward...

You should have watched the full game pal

O.k watched all the game and what a load of s**t same old..playing the game in our own half passing back to riena every chance we get rather than attacking goal.which when we do we seem to have no one up front who as a clue how to hit the goal(i dont mean woodwork either cos were all good at that) another poor game and yet more dropped points times ticking and at 35 am hoping i,ll get to see another real liverpool team. glory days av truly gone.. p.s dont go giving me this n that blahh blah blah are you really happy at this? thought so

Bet you wish you could take that back eh mate?!

Kennys subs are baffling I just don't get it,why bring on mr under average" henderson" " BRING ON CARROL" this I not what I call improvement it's more frustrating watching this team.

Suarez wasteful how many chances has he missed this season..Sell him in the summer and buy someone who knows were the net is

21 Mar 2012 20:44:42
This is what pissed me of with kenny he brings back Adam who has been s**t most the season and drops caroll who has been improving and dirk kuyt brings nothing to the game at all.we need another striker ASAP.

Awful selection. Pathetic. My patience with Kenny is running out.

Why he insists on changing what works is beyond me.

Derry looks world class. Pathetic.

I really hope we scrape a win - but I won't feel positive - I can't trust the manager.

BJH YNWA.

21 Mar 2012 20:39:00
Suarez needs Big Andy up top with him to start occupying the defenders.
Suarez is being crowded out again.
Can't understand the formation again!!

It's prob the formation most of the "fans" have been calling for all week on here.
It's only half time have some faith.

MIKEY

Kenny makes no sence sometimes,Adam should never put on a Liverpool shirt again,Carroll should be on the pitch the QPR defence is poor he would give them nightmares,as for kuyt if he was to leave I would not be fussed .

21 Mar 2012 20:03:42
Disappointed that Kenny has dropped Carroll again, hope he doesn't regret it later.

21 Mar 2012 19:59:07
Not a rumour but Luuk De Jong has injured himself in game for FC Twente today, early reports are suggesting snapped ankle ligaments. Will this hamper any interest liverpool have in him ? {Ed002's Note - On past experience it will strengthen interest.}

21 Mar 2012 19:54:20
population estimate for Liverpool was 445200. so why is the new stadium 60000 seater? it seems very low, unless we don't have the supporter base we all think we have world wide. Why does the stadium have to liverpool if all the supporters life in london.

Why do fans have such an issue with Everton/liverpool ground share. It would make the most sense out of all the plans. at the end of the day, this is a business that involves filling a stadium full of punters. Having one stadium, one set of costs, but two revenue streams would make much more sense to a business man. Isn't it time to change and go forward with Everton fans

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

Doesnt work

Is it free ?

Yes it does. Watched all the first half and currently watching the second half. Best picture was on some Greek Channel - Nova 7. Crystal clear. There were a couple of links in English but the picture wasn't up to much and the other links had poor picture and poor sound so I 've settled for the best picture.

Yes is free

Who needs enemies when you have fans like you liverpool supporters . According to you lot - based on posts on this site you need to get rid of Henderson , adam , carrol , carra , spearing , ( even gerrard ) .

Best most knowledgeable supporters ? my f**kin ass .

Some fans are asking for your youth players to be given a chance - I say throw them in the deep end and watch your own supporters turn on them .

my opinion is that half you loserpool "supporters " are closet Man City supporters - you want success overnight . Before you lot turn your abuse on me look at your own supporters ( red turk , red indian , ash ) and tell me i am wrong !! I have NEVER heard 1 positive comment about your team from these guys .

You sorry lot are even calling for the fall of your own manager ( who is a club legend ) . Liverpool FC will fail because of their own fickle fans . FACT .

Like I said - hate and abuse me if you must . A draw or a loss tonight will prove to you people that I am right . Watch the vultures come out after that

see you losers !!!

Vern

U named 3 people! millions of other fans around the world are right behind the team! so shush ur self vern!

You do realise where seventh in the league with swansea 3 points behind us

Nobody listens to the 3 you have mentioned. They are routinely abused on here by the real Liverpool fans.

We're 7th in the league with a £100 mil of attacking players who rarely score! Are you blind? If you've never heard me say anything positive, you should pay more attention. And Mikey, I don't even recall a post from you!

You may not have seen this. I hadn't.

Fowler interview from '95 - 'Fowler Goes back to Toxteth'. Pretty good.

He had an Irish granny it seems - and also seems to concur on my Scouse-Irish theorem!

Don't they all have Irish grannies?

Scores a nice goal towards the end too, even if the opposition aren't great. lol.

Does anybody have a sixth sense when certain games are on the horizon? Before the carling cup final I would have taken a 1-0 victory even if we had been outplayed, not suggesting we were but there are certain games that just do nt sit right with me. Fulham away and wigan away, vibes were not good before these games and yes, here we go men, i have this feeling again as i write this. Its almost a game that has been put on the back burner and of little interest . however, until you receive more points for beating scum/bitters/flag wavers, this game is as big as last tuesdays derby game surely? Three points tonight again as vital as last weeks 3 points. Got to shake off this negative feeling in the next hour or so men, can you give me some good vibes boys ( and girls sorry )

Cheers

Mick.

So it's your fault!! ;-)

Adam was starting to get an understanding with Lucas.Since the Brazilians injury,it's clear to see that his form as suffered.Adam is an offensive player, who doesn't have the engine to be a box to box player. Lucas sat and covered allowing Charlie to join in the forward play.Jay can.t cover both sides like Lucas did.and it is a waste for Stevie to be used in the Brailian role.Jay works better with Gerrard, because Stevie can get back quicker than Charlie can.I think because of Charlie and Jays lack of mobility in the middle it was never going to work.I don't think either are of a standard that we require to become a top 4 team.

Don shootme

I agree with what you have said. But none the less i think Adam and Spearing make good squad players.

I believe that adam will be sold in the summer, next seasons midfield will have lucas back and we will resign alonso, this will allow stevie g to get forward and play as a third forward

I cant believe some of the stick Charile Adam is getting ok the last month may have not been his most productive but other than that he has had a really good season. The first part of the season with Lucas he was immense and they formed a really good partnership.

But to have a player like Adam fighting for a place shows how good our squad is and i believe how well the likes of spearing is playing. But now he has had a rest can only benefit the squad.

For his first season i would give him prob about 7 out of ten and his left foot is pure magic and he will only get better next season.

Fans need to start supporting the players.

Mighty reds

Could not diagree more. Adam is in no way good enough for liverpool. his corners and free kicks have been awful and as for his tackling, me and me mates at the game are just waiting for him to get booked, he gets the wrong side of his man and commits to many fouls.

Mighty red...

If his name was Charlyarno Adamori people would probably give him less stick. Adam is a fantastic member of our sqaud and will get better when he's settled in well.

TIZER RED

Spearing can't even get near an opponent never mind able to tackle one. Both adam and Spearing are desperately slow. That is why neither Imo are going to take us forward.I don't believe the Spearing hype at the moment as soon as he's turned he's out of the game

Spearing and Adam are only squad player standard for Liverpool Football Club.
I do not know what happened to Adams corners. The evil one said his corners for Blackpool were worth £10 million alone. I agreed but I would say more like 50p for he ones he has taken forums

If Charlie was born in Marsh Lane and brought up supporting Everton ,then he would be Idolised by the Carra brigade. He should learn to hoofit all the time. Then wave his arms about swearing at people ,cause dat's hard and shows he cares.

A massive three or four day for us with qpr and wigan to play. To come away with three points would be brilliand tonight. I can see kenny using his squad a bit over the next couple of games. So maybe a rest for gerrard in either game. I can see maybe a fresh charlie adam starting tonight along with hendo and kuyt. Anyway whatever team plays lets hope we come away with three points and pile the pressure on the top 5 or 6.

*long(ish) post alert*

(such matters are subjective)

For the sake of discussion.

If we don't get top 4 this year (I'll never give up on it till it's impossible.) - our Carling Cup victory will see us in the Europa League next season.

Some people may not like the idea - but if we approach the competition with an eye on developing our youngsters, being in the competition can prove very beneficial to the project -

We can get a look at the kids in competitive first team action and in turn, this may help keep the best young players happy.

From reading various posts here and elsewhere - it seems that some of our young talent has been/is growing frustrated by the lack of opportunities.

Our young goalkeepers never get a chance, whilst Sterling (rumoured to be unsettled), Suso etc could do with a chance also.

Pacheco could have gotten more chances also.

For example -

Gulacsi looks a quality young keeper - but rumours of discontent suggest he will likely follow Jones (perhaps) and Doni out the door in the summer.

I'd like to see him given a chance in games against lesser sides in the domestic cups - and in the Europa league.

Reina playing the big games is fine, but the likes of Doni and Jones must think 'what am I doing here' when they don't even get a chance against League One sides.

The games would be good for Gulacsi, who could prove a great deputy to Pepe and no doubt be a lot happier to be involved in competitive action - and even if we did decide to sell him later - his sell on value would surely have increased.

Why pay the likes of Jones & Doni so much - or move for another keeper in the summer when we have quality at the club.

The same goes for lots of young players - such as Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson, Coates, Wilson, Coady, Shelvey, Suso, Sterling, Morgan, Adorjan, Teixiera etc.

The progress of some of these lads has stalled this year - the opportunity to play them in the Europa league - and lesser sides in the FA and League cups - would be a great chance to get them all involved - and to see how good they really are.

If the kids (helped with a good balance of senior players throughout the side obviously) could compete well in their group and advance in the competition, it could be a great experience for them.

The same goes for playing sides in the domestic cups - but only in low-risk games - against L1 sides and below. I like that Kenny tries to win each competition - but no need for his strongest XI in such games.

If we don't the Europa league, fine - But I'm not saying we shouldn't try to. Lets see how these kids can do. Hopefully a few will announce themselves on the scene with some big performances.

10-15 senior appearances for a lot of these kids may not be unfeasible in such circumstances. They'd be buzzing and surely hungry for more!

I'd look forward to Thursday nights!

Also.........

I can't wait for the match tonight - lets hope their 'keeper doesn't play another blinder! If we don't play 442 and roll them over... i'll be very sad....

Team tonight.. (If I was the boss)

Reina

Kelly Skrtel Coates Enrique

Shelvey Spearing Gerrard Downing

Suarez Carroll

subs - Doni, Carra, Flanagan, Hendo, Adam, Maxi, Kuyt.

God.... we need a new RW badly... Shelvey is better centrally, but i'd just give him the nod over Maxi, with one eye on the future. Maxi will be gone this summer.

Kuyt is a striker - and a good one. Not a midfielder, good option on the bench.

Considering no Bellamy, Johnson or Agger - not a bad team. Decent options on the bench too.

I'd actually change Adam for Sterling on the bench, as i'd give Hendo the nod as the backup CM player, I think you only need one on the bench playing a 442 - unless one is defensively minded - but that is not the case, they are both similar in this respect.

But Sterling only played 2 days ago... and it's not what Kenny will do.

Anyhoo.

3 points pleeeeeease!

BJH YNWA. (Big Andy..... Your time has come. I want goals!)

Shelvey on right wing. Perhaps, I don't think he is good enough when playing on the right. He is very much more comfort in the center and its the position where he should be tried. YNWA

Generally agree BJH. The Europa league can be draining on the squad due to the early start and number of games. However the experience could be invaluable for Henderson and the like. I would like to see us select a mixture of first team squad players (I'm less uncomfortable about some of the squad i.e Spearing, Coates, Shelvey than the likes of Nunez, Poulson et al) and promising youngsters. Due to the nature of the league format in early rounds we can rest/rotate players .... otherwise I can see the effect of the Euros and early start/number of games having an effect, especially if we were competing for Champions League or higher...

Richards

@YNWA - I agree Shelvey looks better centrally, he could be great there someday - I recall he had a good game (Villa was it? I can't remember for sure) on the right, then never played there again.

Personally, I hate Kuyt on the right - and would prefer Henderson to play centrally too.

I understand completely though if people would disagree with Shelvey there - Kenny will likely disagree tonight!

I'd just want to get him involved tbh - I think he could surprise a few people on the right. He has a good engine, decent pace and has good delivery - he is better technically than Kuyt and more attack minded than Hendo, he can pick a pass and knows wher the net is too! - I only left out Maxi with an eye on the future, he'll be gone in the summer. Not great options there tbh.

@ Richards - Cheers man, i'd like a good mix too. The kids will certainly need a few older heads around them as you say.

The likes of Spearing, Coates, Kelly - and even Carra, Kuyt, Adam can be very good in this respect if they're not starting every game in the league.

I hope we approach the competition like this though. As you say, our league form could suffer otherwise. Gotta keep our best players fresh.

BJH YNWA.

ps - Champions league though! You never know!

I like it - only consideration is that I doubt we will be signing Ramirez and Philips at the same time, it will be one winger; still, we are truly working towards lowering our wage bill, creating a stable, long-term squad in the same time.

Tonights game is a must win if we are to carry on and prove we can win games and score goals.
Man City need to beat Chelsea (sorry ED002) and for probebly the second time this season I will be cheering for Everton.
I know its a long shot but if Everton do get a resalt at home to Arsenal then just maybe that will give us some hope in the race for top 4.

Ed, if GJ is sold in the summer how much do you think we will get for him considering he is English? Do you think we will get anywere near the money we paid for him? (if my memory serves me well about 18 mill)

With Lucas out at the moe, and if Agger was fit ild try him playing along side Spearing in CM, Stick Gerrard on the right if carroll was playing, if not behind Suarez!
Stu

You wouldnt see a dentist do a doctors job would you?

I don't see the fascination people have with playing Agger in midfield. Why not stick Reina on the right wing? He has an excellent delivery on him.

In all seriousness though. Why play one of our best players out of position when we have players who can cover until Lucas returns? Not having a go or anything, ht wondered why people think it woul be a good idea.

"The Irritation of King kenny"

"eds, is there any chance that we might go for jacob mellis after he was released from chelsea? he was tipped to be a first team regular, and only got sacked for a practical joke rather than form."

Then there was the post about buying "the next bright young thing we'd seen on telly last night scoring a goal and he is the next best thing and why don't we buy him cos we need players like him and why don't we bid for Messi and then talk to Neymar's agent about joining Messi and Robben and Podolski and Ribery and Pele and spending another £300,000,000,000,000.... oops, just shot my bolt!"

What is it with fans that we expect miracles and miracle signings whenever we read the papers (not too many from this site doing that I think) or watch some 16 year old score two goals in a televised game? Where has the sense of reality gone in modern sport? (At this stage it might be better for those with short attention spans to just skip the rest of the posting)

Neymar is the next bright young thing to come out of Brazil. Just about anyone who can swing a foot at a ball in a favela is called a 'Samba wunderkid' by the red tops, but this is consistent with the sort of hype SKY Sports and the atrocious talkSHI*E come up with. My point is that we are selling ourselves short and expectation is breeding a new generation of fans for whom "sensational" and "the greatest of ALL time" is commonplace.

Lionel Messi is a little bit special; but I ask if he is 'that special' in a side that really is special? Not to say he isn't amazing and worthy of plaudits. But is he so far ahead of others in the pantheon of great players? One of the 'greatest films of ALL time' is anything Harry Potter. Why? The people who vote for this are invariably of the younger generation. They probably haven't seen 'Citizen Kane', 'The Searchers' or 'Schindler's List.' It's the same with football.

I've always regarded Cruyff as one of the most memorable, inspiring and charismatic players I have ever seen - not of ALL time as time hasn't finished yet! But he will be remembered for a long, long, long time .... The issue is that some of our own greats like Peter Thompson, Chris Lawler, Gerry Byrne and Roger Hunt are often forgotten, or ignored, when we have people of a more current era such as KK, Steven Gerrard, Barnes and Hyppia to remember. Yet there is a difference here with the main tenet of my argument.

Our 'greatest' players tend to be the nearest ones to us. We have SG and KK, JB and SH, JC and LS, but the hype is never far away. We are progressing slowly in our pursuit of Academy players that will have a chance of making it into the first team. Why is it then we are always asking for them to be promoted too soon and asking for players to be bought who are not likely to make the grade?

Sterling (of whom I still have personal doubts) and Morgan, Suso and Eccleston, are all potential players for next season's squad. Then posters will say that Sterling is too slight at present (a view I think some of the Editors have) and that Eccleston is never going to be a Liverpool player. The real issue is that as they are already 'our' players, a little bit of the wanting and the hype slides off them. In life we all want something that we may not have - hence the posters asking the club about signing some NextGen player who scored twice on telly last night.

Then again, this is one of the exciting things about football. We are buzzed about signing a new striker or defender and - as we always seem to be these days - looking forward to next season. So it should be, but with some respect paid to what we already have. Lucas returning will give us a 'new' player next season and Adams will come good. We need some new players, but let's be more realistic please. Cast your mind back to 2010 when posters on here were extolling the virtues of Owen Coyle (Christ!) and AVB. They were almost apopletic when people like myself mentioned they were novices or possibly not that good. What the hell did we know about the game? No marks with no ideas! Well, about as relevant to real socialism as Ed Miliband and the Labour Party in the 21st century!

I have come to dislike SKY Sports for its hype and Alan Hansen has sadly crawled through my alley of revulsion for his ludicrous overhyping of anything. And I mean ANYTHING! It's so OTT that it transcends even moderate acceptance of hype. At the risk of being called crass or outrageous - was Muamba's sad case any sadder or depressing than the majority of cardiac arrests each day? The answer lies in the media coverage and the easy access to information. If anything, I felt sorry that the poor man's plight was so media intensive. If there's anyone to blame it's our collective greed for information.

The next 'new/best/senastional' thing might well be in our Academy. We need a blend, but the endless masturbatory wishlists only serve to illustrate that in the world of instant communication we want instant glory and heroes.

Steve Parker

{Ed002's Note - I dread to think where your "alley of revulsion" is.}

Great post

Steve Parker, glad to read your well-written and grammatically correct drivel again!

Curious, you speak lowly of people who have wishlists and want to see these "wonderkids" come in, and rant and rant, but where's your point? I too feel bad for poor Muamba having his stuff put all over the news, it's tough enough as it is, but what are you proposing we do as a club? Curiosity has gotten to me.

McSnuggles

McSnuggles: why is there a need for a point? You call it a rant and others a treatise; some call it comment and others fact. It's personal interpretation. What is YOUR point about those who have these wishlists?
You ask what I propose we do as a club - the discussion was never centred on any solutions, it was a discussion piece.
Opinionated I can live with - drviel is rude!

I'm going by ED 3's rating of Phillips here so saying that if this was the team next year I would be happy.

Reina
Isla Agger Skrtel Enrique
Phillips Gerrard Lucas Downing
Suarez Carroll/De Jong.

Ed23

Nice team but in my opinion I would let kelly hold the RB postion which he deserves and Let Isla and Philips fight it out for the RW position

Agree with the second post and think with that team we could make atleast top 4
and the signings are not out of the question?

I think u will see Ramirez rather than Phillips as Ed001 suggested Phillips is being watched for the future.

Isla, isn't needed much. Kelly can become a top Rb, understudied by Flanno, who I remember last season got few games and was very good. Ramirez, Phillips and Luuk de jong, can become great for us. YNWA

The Real KB {Ed002's Note - The only bar I recall in that area was the Earl of Lonsdale at Notting Hill. It has been many years since I lived in London.}

The Real KB. I did the refurb work many years at East Acton social club not far from loftus road. It was always ok round Shepherds Bush market area in them days.
Some of the lads used to have to bypass a few though as there Slate hadn,t been paid:)
The Good old days lol
Are you Hitching down there:) lol
kidmillions

KB, there's a good one on the junction of Uxbridge Road/Askew Road......about a 1/2 mile from Loftus Road. Can't remember the name atm but will get it later when I'm down there if you want mate

K.Bennett

Kb, you will be fine in most pubs tbh esp round sb common, theres a couple down the uxbridge road or holland park road (dear though), probably better off down the uxbridge road (just off sb common), stay away from the pubs near the scrubs though, one of the side roads down uxbridge takes you straight to the ground think its called something fontain? while your down here theirs a little cafe down the uxbridge that sells pie mash n liquor try it!
sir billy nick

Cheers lads.
I will head down the Uxbridge Rd then. Like the sound of that cockney dinner sbn. Lol.
I'll ask the chef for the recipe for you ed002.
Never been to QPR, so looking forward to this one.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - Have a great time. A small atmospheric ground.}

Any round the Green should be fine, or bars in the outdoor food street in the Westfield centre, many pubs closer to the ground may be home fans only but you'd be fine around the green, not sure if any don;t allow football colours though. But there's pubs everywhere so you'll have no trouble finding somewhree

I think the one Bennett was referring to was the Goldhawk? There are the local pubs, bit more traditional just on the Uxbridge road close to the ground (White City) one of which is the Rangers fans pub (Bell?) ... there are a number of pubs/bars around Shepherds Bush Green (5 mins from the ground). You get a lot of Aussie, Kiwis around there because of the Walkabout....

Pie and Mash? We're not in the east end you know ;) There are a number of West Indian cafes close by... it's the place to get some Jerk Chicken or Roti's... failing that there is a Nandos....

Apart from walking through the estate it's a great little ground... mainly because of the atmosphere, and cause it's closest to my house!

Richards

Richards, I painted a house on lime grove? think it was that one but there is a pie and mash shop think its just before the bridge? unless its now closed?
sbn

There is a pub called the Oneils near shepherds bush green which is where all the away fans go to for QPR games. The landlords friendly and the beer is good. Its around the corner from both Goldhawk road and Shepherds Bush Market Station! Just ask anyone

Eldon- Shepherds Bush Red

Sbn, not sure you're probably right.... I won't be home until Easter but for me if you like Pie and Mash you have to go to the City (Clerkenwell) or Borough market/ East London. Personally when I'm down that way I like going to the West Indian food places... very underrated (oh and spicy).

Richards

Richards, I do mate love me pie mash n liquor, fav is cooksies over hoxton way, got one thats just opened near me in enfield! I'm a spurs fan but enjoy chatting football with kb and other intelligent football fans, nothing like good friendly banter without putting teams down
sbn

Sbn, that explains that then... west London isn't normally known for it's pie n' mash, and well I like liquor about as much as mushy peas or curry sauce so I'm probably the wrong person to comment (I don't get it... all Mancs seem to drown their chips in it!)... nothing wrong with friendly banter, maybe I'm being nostalgic but their is far more hatred between teams nowadays. Plenty of Spurs fans near me too...

went to watch toni silva last night at burton albion.he shows some good touches on the ball but got tired very quickly and got replaced early second half .nowhere near ready for the premier league yet tonywebbo

Time...
Every so often, usually when we lose, people get hysterical and decide to get rid of everyone currently playing cause all the kids/new signings are better... in reality each youngster has to be allowed the time to break into the first team, without all the added pressure. Not everyone is a Messi. Personally I think Silva needs to continue his development next season at a Championship Club although I have said since he came he is exciting, always trying new things.

Richards

I don't think it is time, more a lack of quality

How many tickets will each side get for Semi?And subsequent final(If get there)-isnt F.A Cup Final,only about 25,000 each?After all the Hangers on,have their slice {Ed002's Note - I am not aware that it has been announced yet but I would expect more for the semi-final than the final to go to the clubs.}

I'm a bit disappointed with Kuyt coming out and basically saying "play me or I'm off".
Compare that attitude to Carragher when Agger had taken his place or others not getting a lot of game time (Coates) and I think it is poor.
I know he will be leaving in the summer anyway, but there are plenty of games until then.
His value will be a bit lower with buying clubs knowing he wants to go as well.

Carra wouldn't get a game for any other top side and is a one team local lad. Kuyt still has something to offer and you can't blame him for wanting to play. Kuyt is squeezed out in favour of Carroll who's in the shop window scenario with a view to the summer and not ahead of Kuyt on merit in my opinion.
kidmillions

Typical Kuyt. He has a good agent... one that never stops.

Rest assured after every defeat, draw and/or abject performance you will read Kuyt's latest views on everything on LFC.TV.

The regular tone is -

"Dirk issues rallying cry". "Kuyt wants improvement" "Kuyt the warrior" - That sort of thing.....

When these stories appear after he's been particularly rubbish, he will then proceed to talk about the failures of "the team".

If he happens to score however, he will praise "himself - and then the team."

I noticed this during Rafa's reign, then Roy's. It continues now.

To test my theory. I went there (LFC.TV) whilst typing this.

"Dirk predicting Suarez goal spree".

I read his latest blethering...

I was very disappointed not to start against Everton or Stoke," Kuyt said.

"I keep trying to convince the manager he needs to pick me. I'm feeling physically very strong.

"I'm training well so I'm just waiting for the manager's call. Hopefully it will be on Wednesday night.

"It's almost impossible to play every game but when you are the type of player I am, you want to play more games and be more involved.

Then the biggest laugh of all.....

"You can talk a lot about things but at the end of the day you need to speak with your feet and show it on the pitch."

No sh*t Dirk.

Years of mediocrity and a good agent and he thinks he has a god given right to be in the team. His PR people have seemingly attached the "legend" moniker to his name.

Carra - legend, Stevie - Legend, Hyypia - Legend. Rush, Dalglish, Barnes, Whelan, Neal.....

Dirk - no. Jesus Christ no.

An abomination of a right sided midfielder.

Cult hero I accept - he "works hard" after all - like Iain Dowie did. He is also very limited, like Niall Quinn, but he tries.

If thats the criteria, Spearing will be a legend in no time.

His comments annoy the hell out of me - they're very disrespectful to his teamates too.

Does he know we won the games he didn't start in?

Does he care?

My favourite ever is Kuyt PR line is as follows -

"Kuyt could play for Barcelona".

Thats the moment I knew it wasn't me being paranoid - there was actually a concerted campaign on LFC.tv wholly designed to convince people that Kuyt was an indisposable figure of legendary status - and that as a result I should buy a Dirk Kuyt Mug from which to drink my brew, whilst wearing my matching Dirk Kuyt "the warrior" T-shirt and slippers which were just shipped in from Malaysia.......

He's a good striker - and a rubbish winger/midfielder. Thats it.

If he won't shut up - sell him. Who the hell does he think he is?

grrrr.

BJH YNWA.

ps - You know... I do like him as a striker - All those years ago I wanted us to sign him as a striker. He was my first choice that summer.

But Rafa destroyed the young striker that I admired so much.

I remember him eyeing up Rush's goals record when he signed. Little did he know what he would become.

He will always be a wasted talent in my eyes. He should have triple the goals he's scored - and should be a world renowned striker - but no, he's Dirk.

He remains a useful option up front in a 442 - but I constantly live in fear of him being picked in midfield or on the right of a front 3 ever again.

When he does - more often than not - we are sh*t.

Again, show some class and shut the hell up Kuyt! Support the team, stop thinking of yourself. {Ed002's Note -

KD has a problem with Dirk and tried to offload him in the Jan transfer window. Nothing transpired and Dirk has been pretty much on the naughty bench ever since and was even singled out for criticism in the dressing room after a recent defeat. Carra's on over a 100K a week mate, so he's going nowhere and if he did it would be at least one step down but he's teachers pet so he's safe

Then I read this at live4liverpool... Kuyt speaking to the Mirror apparently...

I can see myself staying at Anfield for the rest of my career, as long as I am satisfied and am entitled to play in each game to get to the level I want to be,ť

before finishing:

As long as I play as much as I want to play then I will be happy, but if it gets to the point where I am not playing every game anymore, then maybe I will have to make another decision “ but I don't think about that at this stage.ť

Every year he played every game we won NOTHING.

He is a symbol of our greatest trophyless run in god-knows how long.

Good lord... SHUT UP OR SHIP OUT DIRK.

BJH YNWA.

If anyone read what he actually said you would know he said he wanted to stay and like all professionals was 'disappointed not to be picked', would you expect anything less?

BJH, why are you so angry at Kuyt? Did he take your sister out or something? He's a valuable squad player and knows where the net is... And you're skewing his comments ridiculously. Relax on the rage, mate.

McSnuggles

Lol. Sorry Mc Snuggles.

I do actually like the guy, and rate him as a striker too. He is a good squad player - go and tell him that though!

I copy/pasted the quotes. I didn't change them. Maybe the media skewed them originally.

The rage has subsided though. Sometimes you've gotta let it out I guess. lol.

BJH YNWA.

Ed kenny is talking about funds for the summer. Do you think he is sure he is in charge for next season as i still think a few poor results and he may be replaced? {Ed002's Note - Let's assume that he is for the time being.}

It's not about a few poor results, try to see the bigger picture, where playing the right brand of football to bring sustained success, if we have any failings along the way it's down to players and not the pass and move system we play.
Just a few adjustments " Couple of players out! Couple of the right players in! Now that Kenny has had a good look at the overall squad. Next season we will play exactly the same way but with a more balanced team. Why would any one change the Manager? " We are on the right track" have faith.

when lucas comes back he should have his own song, it's about time. any ideas? RI RED

He has his own song? Where have you been the last 6months? Haha

Lee YNWA

Untrue!You obviously dont go!

What wrong with the one he's got?

King luis

He has one already.

His first name is Lucas, is Lucas, is Lucas,
His second name is Leiva, is Leiva, is Leiva,
And that's why we like him, we like him, we like him,
In fact we f***ing love him, we love him, we love him
wooah wooah woh wooah wooah woh.

Seriously??
some people really are clueless.. he already has a couple! do u actually watch the games.
one of them gets sung at pretty much every game!

Who disagreed with that? That's the song they sing at the matches, check you tube and type in his first name is lucas.

He has that one but its sang all around europe. Feel like he deserves a proper liverpool chant.

Always thought a Hey Jude tune would fit nicely.

Naaa, Na NA LUCAS LEIVA!

x

That's more insulting than anything!.
How plain, boring and let's be honest idiotic.
Hard to believe this is the city of the Beatles.

That one is bloody pathetic.

BthekingB

The lucas songs are s**t. we should adopt the 'lucas lucas leiva' to 'we will rock you' complete with verses if you care to look it up.

I think tello could be great beside suarez

Available for 10 million. Bargain of the century. N a future superstar.
Indian Buzzer

Not convinced!.
Looks a little "light weight" for the English game.
Why would they sell him anyway, Villa still out and doubtful long term success!.

Light weight? Is there any lighter than Modric and Lucas?

BthekingB

Yes, Modric and lucas don't have to battle it out with the likes of big CB, think Stoke, then think Tello, he will spend most of his time on the turf.
Needs to toughen up a bit, this is not Barca mate!.

Michael Owen is one of the best premier league strikers ever and he wasn't built well.

BthekingB

The original post, suggested Saurez and Tello.
Is Tello strong or tough enough to 'lead the line', I don't think so, so that's all I have to say on this. I believe we would best served with a strong and tough striker who can battle and win the ball in a tough physical confrontation.
Presently we don't have this kind of player.

question for the eds, do you think we have progressed?

gee man {Ed001's Note - yes, I don't think there is any question about that. It might not be as much as some people hoped for, but we have stepped forward.}

Of course we have progressed, winning 1 trophy and getting to wembley again in a couple of weeks, we have done more in 1 year than we have in the last 6. so well done king kenny. and all the other staff.

My Liverpool next season.
It's evident we need a world class striker and winger. Huntelaar has been in sensational form of late and with him and Suarez already having a proven and deadly partnership, it would be nonsensical to not attempt to link them up. Robben is reportedly unhappy at Bayern, and we all know how devastating he can be. Bayern have just signed Xherdan Shaqiri, his replacement maybe? We should definitely look to sign them both. I think Matt Phillips should also be signed to succeed the aging Kuyt, he looks one for the future and fits our transfer policy perfectly; young and english.

Suarez - (Klaas-Jan Huntelaar)
Bellamy/Sterling - Lucas - Gerrard - (Arjen Robben)
Enrique - Agger - Skrtel - Kelly
Reina

-

Carroll
Downing - Henderson - Kuyt/(Matt Phillips)
Adam - Spearing
Aurelio/Robinson - Coates - Carragher - Johnson
Gulacsi

Whilst sending Shelvey, Flanagan and Wilson out on loan, and selling Pacheco, Maxi, Cole, Aquilani, Darby and Doni.

Would this be possible Ed's? {Ed001's Note - not a hope in hell we would consider paying Robben's obscene wages.}

Our transfer policy isn't young and English - see Enrique, Adam, Doni, Suarez, and the recent under 18s purchases.

cozinoz

If there is any chance of signing Huntelaar, i would love to see him at Liverpool with Suarez. as for Robben, im not so keen.

Phooey {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to hearing any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell as it is going well for him in Gelsenkirchen.}

Me again Ed's, who do you think is most likely to be signed then? {Ed002's Note - It is too early to say the most likely.}
