Great result last night. All about the 3 points at this stage of the season.

Could really do with starting to keep some clean sheets now.

Only kept 5 since the turn of the year in all comps.

Last season in the run in to winning their treble, Man City had a player rise to the top and start taking games by the scruff, coming up with huge goals/ assists every week, and ultimately dragging them over the line. That man was Ilkay Gundogan.

What we're seeing from Mac Allister right now might just be his best impression. I said last summer when we signed him he was the closest thing to Gundogan in Europe with his ability to play 6, 8 and 10 whilst still being the best midfielder on the park and coming up with clutch moments. I think I was wrong though. I think he might be better!

Also shout-out Ed025. He said last summer that Macca would be the best South American to ever play for us and at the time as much as I rated Macca, I thought it was disrespectful to Firmino and Alisson. But damn, I think he might be right. If Macca stays here for 10 years he'll win us everything. What a player.

Reading the match reviews in The Guardian last night they made it sound as if Sheff United gave us a tough game. Then I saw the match stats and wondered if they had actually watched it. Teams will always get a chance in games but SU had just 18% possession and had 3 shots on the Liverpool goal.

Spot on, MKS. Mac10 and Endo-san have really stepped up, of late. It seems like they embrace the pressure cos the higher the stakes, the better they play. Mac10 is some player, my goodness. He near a complete midfielder and at 24, there is plety of room to grow. So happy we got him and with Endo next to him, he is realising all the potential we all knew he had at Brighton.

@johnnyr1970, I will say that Sheff. Utd gave a good account of themselves defensively (and sometimes on the counter) and made things difficult for us esp. in the first half and after the equalizer so there is some truth to what the pundits are saying. However once thet equalized, we poured it on and were it not for their GK and the bodies they threw at our shots, we gould have won that game 5 or 6-1. Just my opinion, man.

Sheff Utd used the pointless dark arts yesterday and it really ruins the game of football as a spectacle.

I’d say at a guess their players went down injured about 6 times off the ball and then when it came to the subs coming off at one stage I had time to pop down for a pint a hot dog a quick stadium tour and was back in my seat before the Sheff player had walked off the pitch.

They had there biggest chances in the first 90s and then did nothing at one stage in the 1st half Liverpool had 95% possession.

Never trust the hype of the media they were waxing lyrical that the Utd vs Chelsea game was one of the games of the season and a proper advert for the premier league, in reality it was two mid table teams (I’m being generous) who can’t defend or control a game playing some type of kamikaze football. All I can say is sign Poch and ETH up to long term deals quick.

Sheffield played a 5 - 4 - 1 and came to try and not get a good hiding. They are poor (in relative terms) and we’re in damage limitation mode. I understand what they were trying to do but like @JK was saying, it’s not the sort of game that you’d ever want to see. At the end of the season they’ll get what they deserve.
