Hey ed001, when you have the time do you think you could put together a profile on everyone's favourite Liverpool defender, Joel Matip? I bet it'll be an interesting read. Cheers mate.

Thanks Ed, mustn't have noticed it from last year. He has got to be one of the most frustrating players to watch at LFC, to be honest I think he's rubbish and I do hope we move him on sooner rather than later.

To be fair, he has done an ok job for us in the absence of Gomez and Lovren. I was fearful when those 2 were out injured, but Matip has stepped up, in my opinion. He is never going to be the best, but alongside VVD, he did a decent job.

Regardless of opinions on Matip. Fair play to the guy, he stepped up when we really needed him. And has done decent job, and finally managed to string more than 4 games together without injury.

Ed was there a reason that he has been playing over Lovren? Was it down to Lovren having niggling injuries or something else?

{Ed001's Note - Lovren was out injured and Klopp just kept faith with Matip when Lovren returned.}

I think Matip is better than Lovern. Lovern can have absolutely brillant games and then do something to cost us next game.
