Hi Eds. I'm curious to know how Fabinho is doing. I know you've mentioned that he's had some difficulty picking up his role the current system (if I'm not mistaken) . I was wondering if he has made any progress.

I notice he's starting at right back for Brazil tonight, along with Firmino and Alisson.

{Ed001's Note - from what I am told he is settling in nicely to the UK now but the progression in understanding his role is taking a bit longer. Liverpool never used to bring new players straight into the team, they always used to spend 6 months or so learning the system and how they fit into it. That was much less complicated than modern football tactics etc, so I would not worry too much. It just shows how happy Klopp is with the squad that he can afford to give the lad time to adapt fully.}

I think the best way to look at it would be how badly Bakayoko performed last year at Chelsea, he was thrown in and expected to replace Matic immediately and it didn't work out.

Robertson didn’t play much before Christmas last year and he is a UK native. It’s worked out well for him. I think Klopp is taking the same approach for Fabinho 👍.

{Ed001's Note - and we used to get a similar 'where's Robertson?' 500 questions a day until he got in the team as well.}

Accepting the credit there Ron lol. I am pretty sure it was a similar thing with the Ox, and all have become integral parts of the squad. Patience is a virtue.

Fabinho played right back for Brazil last night apparently.
So we have a RB converted to a midfielder and a midfielder converted to a RB.
Happy days. A good footballer is a good footballer.

I wonder with Fabinho will play in a midfield 3, or as a true DM with 3 in front and 2 up top, or withdraw Salah and Mane and leave a lone striker?

Even "where's Gomez". Took him time to adapt too. I must admit I was worried about Gomez. Silly me.

All in good time, we really have a decent player there.

And sorry, I didn't mean to sound like it was a "where's Fabinho" type of post, haha. More a matter of being interested to hear about his progress. Thanks again!
