You could tell which team were looking jet lagged and which team had been in the US days before us.
We were probably the better team up until the last 20 mins or so, but the game was just too soon after a long haul flight .

Isn’t that one of the reasons for the different leagues though ed, so east coast and west coast aren’t traveling constantly or one team isn’t playing at 8pm while another’s body clock is quite different. That said though, perhaps they were teasing me, I’m not head of sports science at Liverpool, as an example of their teasing nature.

{Ed002's Note - You might want to check out Montreal's fixtures in the MLS - or perhaps Boston's fixtures in MLB. Tom Tomsk would never play any Russian Premier League games with the 11 time zones in Russia if they need as much rest as those dear little Liverpool players. Chelsea have managed to get themselves to Australia without taking more than a week to recover after their flight. I accept that Liverpool are different to all other football clubs and the players are very special, it is good that they have an excuse available for every scenario.}
