First time poster
I think Ben foster would be good option for us next season
Experienced number 2 and let Karius develop.

Welcome mate! I think Ben Foster would be alright as the older back up keeper, but i wouldn't want him playing unless there was an injury crisis. He is basically the English Mignolet; makes a lot of errors but can occassionally string a few good games together. As per Ed002 though (he's our best source on this brilliant site to be honest) Klopp really likes Keylor Navas.

I do agree with what you implied though, that Karius may just be earning the right to be our number 1. He needs to keep this form up though in both the League and CL though. This is his first sustained run in don't of a settled defence and he looks confident, and has made sone fantastic and important saves from Arnautovic and Diame in recent weeks. It's just nice to have a competent keeper to be honest.

Look forward to your posts. Always nice to see the community on here growing.

Foster is awful. Would rather have Migs!

I never doubted Karius for a minute. I've been saying how awesome he looks in training all season. I'm glad he is getting a run. I think Vvd may has very something to do with Karius being 1st choice. Karius reinstatement lines up with the arrival of Vvd. It's like klopp asked "who do you want behind you? " and virgil says "Karius"

I haven't forgotten migs heroics last season but I do pray he never plays for us again. Karius is awesome.

I agree SS, I have said it for quite along time now that I think Karius will surprise many people, he is miles ahead of Migs, I just wish Karius was given the full season but it's ok now he's number 1. Unless we can go buy a GK like Allison (highly unlikely) then we should just stick with this lad because he's showing incredible potential in my opinion. I mean that save yesterday just to mention one thing lol it was quite possibly the save of the season! He's a breath of fresh air for us as is VVD and Robbo, it just goes to show how quick things can change in a positive way by bringing in VVD and changing GK.

I think it should be Karius' spot until he proves he's not able. If he has the guidance of a good experiences keeper it may help. Can navas be that guy? Will he want to? He's still got plenty of football left in him.

I just think it would be a cheap sensible option and would leave us with money to spend where it’s needed
I think we need a top striker like Werner if Bobby gets injured we are in trouble.

Agreed salah, I see no need for a new keeper. If we only had migs then sure but Karius looks really good atm.

I get what you're saying speny but I doubt Foster would want to play 2nd fiddle, he may not be great but he's too good for that.

I have been a major doubter if Karius, but I will hold my hand up and say he looks like he has improved a lot.
I think his improvement coincides with VVD arriving. VVD is dominant in the air and reads the game like none of our other defenders.
To me it’s like Klopp has waited for VVD to arrive before making Karius #1 to help Karius settle back in. We all know Karius looked shakey on crosses. Solution - get a defender who is dominant in the air to deal with crosses.
Well done to Karius so far 👍.

Has Karius had a lot to do? barring a top save on Saturday he was basically a spectator. Him and the defence certainly seem more assured but that has coincided with VVD coming into the team and I think he takes a lot of that credit.
I think people need to relax with all the praise, half of the time I think it’s the same people who will be so quick to shoot him down when he makes a mistake.

No thanks, terrible goalkeeper who is a manc on top, only time he shows up is when he plays us! Karius maybe didn't make too many top saves but in the last 4 games he has made 1 or 2 top saves each game specially from one on one's where he came out fast and made himself big. He comes for crosses and long balls and catches them which is a damn sight better than flappity flapp simon!

I thought he was alert to play sweeper a couple of times when needed, and for a refreshing change my heart wasn't in my mouth when he did.
He's got a minimum of 12 games to let Klopp spend his pennies else where, really hope he makes it.

I'd rather take Foster as a back than Navas, given that Navas has no experience of the Premier League and is pretty rotten on crosses amongst other issues, but I would only take Foster as a number three to Karius and Ward being one and two.
