Hey ed's appreciate you don't talk money and this may be a stupid question but can a player's individual sponsors affect what team they may sign for?
I remember a story saying Rory Mcilroy wouldn't have been permitted to represent Ireland at the Olympics (If he'd chosen to) as his Nike contract wouldn't have allowed him to wear the NB ireland kit.

He chose not to represent Ireland. Wasn't about sponsorship. Very disappointing.

He's from northern ireland; not ireland lol maybe that had something to do with it? Could of went with team GB.
