Olirish, I could not believe it myself as I saw the tape with sub-titles. Did you see where the lino literally asks Eriksen if Lovren touched the ball? "Insert face palm here". I could not believe the rank incompetence happening in real time. These clowns had NO idea what they were doing and NONE of them know the offside rule in this situation. The more you look at both pen scenarios, the worse it actually gets. Both pen decisions were pure guesswork. Yeah, that was what our boys had to deal with last night so I don't wanna here the regular "Klopp could have done this or players should have done that@ nonsense esp. not after reading the transcript or watching both incidents over and over again.

No I didn't see him (the assistant referee - Ed Smart) ask Erikson no, are you sure that wasn't directed at the referee John Moss, this is what was hinted at in what I saw/ read?

Moss the referee literally asked the 4th official if he saw replays and as he asked that, he literally also exclaimed that he was giving the penalty, it seems that no matter what the 4th official would have said, he was giving it anyway even though he wasn't sure of much.

I was under the impression that referees cannot ask 4th officials for their input anyway?!

The second one, I think that is only a penalty if this is a non contact sport, there's still images doing the rounds of Lamela literally in mid air a split second before he was even touched by Van Dijk's boot, dramatic back arch and the whole lot - a clear over exaggeration of the contact.

Yes there's contact, but it is minimal and in my opinion it's just not a penalty.

We should still take the result as a positive though I think, as we were so poor throughout and Spurs shaded that game - we are still ahead of them in the table and they have a couple of tough matches coming up too.

They celebrated the draw as if they won, it shows that they feared us quite a lot and were delighted with their draw, so we need to take the positives from all of that.

Just dodgy as hell, I don't know how they can get away with it because they cost us our 3 points yesterday which ever way one may look at it.

I'm overall happy with a point because before the game I didn't even think we'd get that. After the game I was gutted because them 3 points should've been ours, they just had a ref on their side more then anything. But it is what it is, we move on.

I think by the letter of the law the ref was right to award the penalty. The linesman didn't give him any new information so he had to go with his original decision.

This is assuming he had already award it, my memory is hast whether that happened or not.
