I noticed Salah got some stick again yesterday (not for the first time) for not finishing chances ( even though he was our most creative player) yet Firminho is always defended for his finishing because of what else he brings to the team even though he is our striker. Similar to Hendo he is deemed essential to the team for what he brings but for me he does exactly what Allen used to do and Allen was more or less scape goated out of the club. As fans we seem to move the goal posts on what is deemed a good/ bad performance from 1 player to the next.

{Ed001's Note - the same as Allen? Have you ever watched the two of them play? They are nothing alike. That is the most absurd comment I have ever seen on here.}

How exactly are they even remotely similar? That comment is daft mate Ed001 is totally correct, they are nowhere near the same.

lol I'll take that as a compliment Ed 01 as I've seen some absurd comments on here mate. For me though I stand by the comment. Hendo offers more closing down wise but apart from that 98% of the time both their passing range is 5-8 yards sidewards or backwards.

Apologies I'm watching my son play rugby so rushed the initial comment so doesn't read great. I meant to compare Salah and Firminho for the crtitcism they receive for finishing and Hendo and Allen.

Ed 01 my initial comment I was comparing Henderson (Hendo) to Allen. Not Firminho. Reading my comment back I can see where I have caused confusion. My bad English I apologise. I compared Firminho and Salah on finishing.

{Ed001's Note - ahhh now I understand. Ok but again I disagree, Allen was a headless chicken who did not understand how to press, Hendo does press. The problem is that the midfield 3 have no understanding and all just rush out to press the same usually.}

I often wonder why we expect Firmino to score as many goals as a striker when he is clearly not a striker and never has been. If Klopp played Mignolet up front (don't rule it out) would we expect him to get as many goals as Rush or Fowler?

No worries Ed 01 perhaps I'm being too harsh on Hendo and I do actually think Hendo is a better player than Allen and agree on the pressing. Just think when Allen had a similar pass percentage to Hendo (for same range of passes) he was lambasted and Hendo is held in high esteem. Keep up the great work on the site mate 👍.

{Ed001's Note - Hendo is not held in high esteem though, he gets pelters all the time. It is just some people will defend Hendo because he does show more at times, while Allen never offered a thing, bar huff and puff in the wrong areas.}

Perhaps I am being a little bit too harsh on Hendo then Ed 001. Cheers for the replies and your views.

{Ed001's Note - I just wish he would impose himself more on games, then there would be no debate. Unfortunately he is not playing in a position that gives him a chance to really settle any argument, it is far too limited a role and the most important things it entails cannot really be seen unless you only watch him all game.

Henderson will be replaced next summer by a proper holding midfielder ( let’s hope its Julian Weigl ) while Wijnaldum is replaced by Kieta!
Don’t worry lads mediocrity will end by this season! Proper midfield on its way!
