Anyone got a explanation for AFC's fighting performance today compared to the shambles when we played them, I thought that they were well worth the point, and don't suggest Derby cause we are all battling for top four.

Don't think liverpool got the credit they deserved after the arsenal game. Everyone's first reaction was "arsenal were shocking" when in fact we just done a number on them. They're a great little side but we didn't let them dictate for a second and it could have been 7 0.

Spot on, Superred. After we thumped them, 75% of the match reports were about how Arsenal was crap. Very few if any, talked about how great we were. Clearly, the media love LFC, right? NOT!

Arsenal was up for it as they always seem to be vs Chelsea of late and also, they were always expected to rise to the occasion cos they were more than dire at Anfield. It also does help a lot when Conte is completely outcoached and hammered tactically by Wenger. Even the Chelsea fans said Conte was pants tactically so a perfect storm for Arsenal. Well done to them.

I'm not trying to take away anything from our performance, but it helped them against Chelsea by picking a much more balanced side to fit their formation.

He actually picked a LWB at LWB. He had more experience at CB with Mustafi over Holding. He picked Iwobi and Wellbeck where Ozil and Sanchez played. The difference in work and hard graft that came from them 2 made a massive difference in making them harder to break down.

I'm not saying we weren't good, but anyone think Arsenal were anything better than shocking against us, beeds to take the red tinted glasses off.

You can't expect Arsenal to be soft every game, they are capable of bringing out a resolute performance every now and then, it explains the amount of FA Cups they've won recently. I was very impressed by that performance from them.

United are strong but I'm not having some of this Stand. De Gea is not the best in the world. I'd say he has very recently broken into the top 10 and he is now the best in the Prem. But I'd still take Neuer, Buffon, Oblak, Handonovic and Trapp ahead of him. He will surpass Neuer, Buffon and Handanovic in the next 12-24 months though.

On Valencia, that is hilarious. The guy is a time bomb defensively and sub par going forward. He wouldn't get in our team ahead of Gomez or Arnold. Plus you have Ashley Young at left back who would be 3rd choice left back at Liverpool.

Bailly i said when he signed will be the best defender in the league one day so I'll give you that. Jones, Smalling, Shaw etc are all profiting from being English and over hyped. Bang average players. Though I'd love some centre backs good enough to be called bang average at Liverpool, it doesn't make them good because they'd get in our team. LFC is hardly the centre back bench mark. Rojo, Darmian and Lindelof i remain unconvinced. Your defence profits massively from having De Gea, Bailly, and Mourinho's very tight defensive system. The players are still by and large very poor. Lindelof could be very good though in my opinion, once settled.

On your midfield, this is why you are title contenders. Matic (best in the league in my opinion), Herrera, Pogba, Mata and Micky are all great players. The depth there is ridiculous. I mean you still have Carrick who is probably still good enough to get on our bench who can't get near yours. Fellaini i don't get but he somehow does win you games despite being absolutely useless on paper. Mind blowing that.

Going forward though i think you will struggle at times. Martial, Rashford and Lingard are all young and will have off days, and Lukaku and Zlatan are very wasteful. When they're on form you'll hurt teams but you won't be in this purple patch all season and it is those days you'll need a bit of magic from your monstrous midfield.

Would some of your players get in our side? God yeah. De Gea, Bailly, Lindelof, Matic, Pogba for sure. That is the problem we have though, I'd say more of our players get in your team than vice versa, but all your players who would get in our team are the spine of the team. Keeper, centre back, and midfield. As we all know, it is a solid spine that wins titles. We have far better attacking players and marginally better full backs, but those are not positions you necessarily need world class players in. Top managers like Ancelotti, Mourinho and even Rafa know this. Coaches like Klopp seem to not understand it.

You are a better Team than us because of your world class spine, but Mane, Salah, Firmino (touch and go; Lukaku is a better goal scorer, but Firmino is a better player) Coutinho, Robertson and Gomez would get into your team most weeks. And just for clarity i don't even think Robertson and Gomez are top players yet, but you literally have retired wingers at full back! We badly needed Van Dijk and Keita this summer gone and then maybe we'd have the spine capable of challenging against yourselves and Man City. As it is, i expect us to finish 4th again. Liverpool have had one bad week though so I'm not having it that all of a sudden our team is shot. 3 weeks ago we dismantled Arsenal and were dubbed 'genuine title contenders'. International break and a bad 7 days later we are a bad team? Ridiculous.

{Ed025's Note - you usually talk a lot of sense MK, but to say that valencia and young are not better than your full backs is wrong imo mate and de-gea is top 3 in the world..

Valencia and Young are useless Ed. I don't know how you cannot see they are the biggest weak links in the United team. Martial, Rashford and Lukaku are all young and will reach the heights of Liverpools front 3, but wingers in their mid 30's will never be good enough for Man United. Salah and Mane will turn them into a smooth paste if we can isolate them against each other. The problem is, we won't be able to, because Mourinho has mad a habit of playing 6-3-1 against Liverpool in every game for the last 3 years since he came back to the Prem. They'll have Rojo and Young on Salah, and Darmian and Valencia on Mane in a boring 0-0 or a 1-0 win for them with an offside goal 🙄.

{Ed025's Note - its all just opinions in the end MK..
