Ed1 if you are about mate, I know you are a big Flanno fan, as I an as well, I know he had a bad injury just before he went on loan but has stayed fit for quite a while now, do the club expect him to get his sharpness back to were he was a few years back, I don't believe we have kept him for no reason this summer, also as he fully recovered from his knee injuries now?

{Ed001's Note - no one expects him to be back to the level he was at sadly.}

How fragile a footballer's career really is. One injury could affect so much.

What about falcoa ed.

3 years wasn't it for him to return and he was a part striker trying to get back. Whereas flanno is a not very speedy defender anyway.

He. has enough fight to succeed. He has never been about his athletism.

He just knows the game and if allowed to play he could certainly return.

{Ed001's Note - I hope you are right.}

I wonder if he could adjust to play centre back Ed001. He reads the game well, tackles well, follows his man as good as anyone, and despite only being 5ft11 he puts players off as they jump kind of like how Lucas did.

He is certainly good enough on the ball. I'm not suggesting he will ever be first choice, but he could potentially be the back up when Klavan is gone. He could even move back into midfield to cover defensive midfield.

It would have to be because he is good enough though, not just because he is scouse. I just think it may be worth trying him in a new role though. He started as a right back, played midfield for the academy, left back in the first team etc. He is well up for the challenge of learning a new position and it could save his Anfield career which he clearly wants to do more than anything.

He just doesn't really suit a wing back in Klopps system.

{Ed001's Note - I would think it is more likely he would play defensive mid.}

As long as Gomez and TAA are getting in the team and particularly once Clyne comes back there is no need for Flanagan. Should have moved on two years ago. I admire him for his efforts but he could be a starter comfortably at one of the mid table clubs instead of 4th string here.

{Ed025's Note - i hope you meant in the championship amerigo..

Players like flanno defensively in this day and age are a very very rare breed. Why. Because he actually understands the art. What defending us all about.

The same reason carra was so good.

He doesn't need pace and never has. He will be fine, when given trust and love. Oh and some game time.
