Hello Eds,

Even though i agree that we might need an upgrade on the centre backs, but they aren't helped by how we play without a defensive midfielder?

There is no other team i can recollect which plays without one. We leave the CBs' hanging out to dry when we lose the ball in attacking positions and there is a counter attack. Henderson and Can are not proper DMs. Do you think we should have bought a DM more than focusing on a CB? I am worried that we have not addressed our short comings.

Our defence and keeper play well for 89 mins of a game and then turn into Sunday league players for 1 minute of it. Nought to do with a defensive midfielder in my opinion. Majority of goals we concede are usually down to individual mistakes.

Thoroughly agree. People talk as though signing a new CB will suddenly keep us loads of clean sheets.

The way we set up and defend as a unit will help that.

Spot on, Jayden and Agger. People can be so myopic when it comes to our method of defending. The system we play leaves us exposed regardless of if you have Paulo Maldini back there. Klopp does not play with a true DM so that is a moot point. Klopp requires everyone to be switched on defensively as soon as we lose the ball. That is the system and even tho goals will be conceded, it is not a big deal provided the individual errors are cut out which is what we need to do, first and foremost.

Goals we're conceding are not from teams carving us up on the counter, they are from stupid individual errors and an inability to head away a corner.
