I don't get the Lucas love in. Yeah I suppose he was an average squad player for the last ten years but he just sums up the last ten years for Liverpool. mediocrity. I wish him well, I hope he does Well, he seemed a decent bloke but he was never ever good enough. he won't be missed by me I'm afraid.

Terrible attitude to have to a loyal server to the club that gave everything. Not to mention his importance in off the pitch matters helping foreign players settle whilst minimising the effect the language barrier had on them. He was never a world beater on the pitch but that's not the reason people are showing him love, he was simply a great guy that is Liverpool through and through. I wish him all the best and thank him for everything he has done for the club over the last ten years. YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - he was a decent enough player CMK but lets not go over the top about him, he did a good job for which he was paid a phenomenal salary and he never let the club down which is to his credit mate..

Opitimizes everything you would want in a player, especially heart and respect. Very underrated and loves the club. Like actually cares!

Ben is being a bit harsh but his sentiment is bang on. Lucas is a top bloke and an amazing professional but with limited ability. It's to his credit that he stayed at a top club for so long for a player who lacks any physical attributes to be an elite footballer. It just shows how good his attitude and application is to have a place in our squad for so long. I hope he does well he truly deserves it but I'm glad he won't be playing for us anymore as he's not good enough for a team challenging for top honours.

He was a good holding midfielder,

He was used as a utility player of late and often played out of position.

He always gave 100% and always had a smile on his face.

Ed025 which is exactly why people are showing him the love and gratitude he deserves. He went out and gave 100% every game he played and helped foreign players settle (that's what they've all said) . I wouldn't say it was over the top, simply confused how after ten years at the club a fan can question why people are wishing him good luck and thanking him the day he leaves.

I guess that is very dependent upon who you are, your values, and what you want for your club.

I'm not showing my hand either way other than to say that I very much respect LL and his loyalty and wish him well but the questions ask is:

Would closer to everything you want in a player be closer to a Luis Suarez or a Lucas?
