Info for Aussie reds. As you know Optus have the rights to the epl next season. They have responded to the lack of sign ups and have an offer available til the end of the month. I've just signed up on their sim only mobile plan for $30 a month with epl totally free for the upcoming season. After that it's $15 a month for 2017-18. Bargain.

$30 a months is not a bargain, that's for 12 months so 3 months you pay with no premier league The cost after the first year is an ADDITIONAL $15 so $45 a month thereafter. That excludes extra payment for fetch tv to watch it on a large screen tv or buy Apple TV to AirPlay it or use their app ( depending on which version you have) They are absolute thieves holding the Aussie public to ransom. Lucky I had a friend that doesn't watch football that uses their lame mobile and broadband services already and pays over the qualifying 'free' threshold so I get it for nothing. I wouldn't want to give these guys 1 cent for the way they held the public over a barrel.

Of course the season is only 9 months. But for 30 you do get a phone plan remember? I'm just switching my plan. So cost neutral.

Whilst I don't disagree swish, you wanna try living here in the uk, now that's an expensive TV package!

Burkey, the only way its a bargain is if you don't already have a phone contract or broadband ( appears to be the case for you) eveyone else who is still under contract ( standard is 2 years) is being royally shafted as they have to pay for a mobile device they don't need or in most cases even want. I would have to pay $300-$400 to watch it as I'm already under contract.
I know sport isn't cheap in uk as I'm from there originally but I think if BT bought ALL the rights for football and the only way to watch it was to have their mobile or broadband there would be a massive uproar. They could have done an Internet season pass or a deal with Foxtel to screen it on Pay TV but that is not their agenda. It's scandalous they have got away with it. I think Ian Ayre even raised it at a recent meeting with the premier league as it serves no purpose other than to grow a lame service providers market share and rip off fans.

Understand what you're saying, not good for someone in your situation. If you were Optus and had paid that sort of money, which the premier league happily took, you'd also want to maximise the possibilities. I used to pay $90 a month for Foxtel which had a heap of crap I didn't watch, so I'm actually ahead. Also, you don't have to pay for fetch, just plug your device into your big screen if you can. That said, at least with Foxtel they had epl on demand for $90 a season, would be good to see Optus offer something similar.

Does anyone know if Foxtel will offer their liverpool tv channel online? I paid for their epl on demand last season and it wasn't too bad for the price. Wouldn't mind paying a similar amount even if it means delayed games.

You can subscribe to the liverpoolfc tv site and get access to the channel. About 50gbp a year I think. Foxtel have it and the Manu and Chelsea channel to try and compensate for losing the premier league, but no plans to offer online access.
