I feel kinda bummed for Lucas. Starting against WBA means he won't start on Wednesday. Most likely on the bench.

But the result comes 1st I guess. Klopp will likely start w Cab n Milner as CM. Whatever it is, hope everybody gives 200%, regardless of result.

On a different note, while Smith may be a bit better defensively than Moreno, Moreno is better technically.

Which is harder, teach technique to a defender or teach defending to somebody who has technique?

{Ed001's Note - teaching defending.}

Where was Smith for their goal? Strolling back into position until it was too late.

Hounsred I don't think you can blame Smith for that goal. Allen gave away possession cheaply, then he made a weak challenge to get it back from Leko.

Smith had made a run for Allen which is why he was caught out of position. If Allen's pass had been accurate, then it wouldn't have mattered. You can't have it both ways. Smith had to make a run to give Allen an option. It's not his fault Joe stuffed up twice (arguably 3 times because once he failed to tackle Leko he should've taken one for the team and took him down) . Bogdan should've stopped the shot anyway. Smith still got back quick enough to force Rondon into rushing the chance. Bogdan got beat at his near post by a very average finish.

Don't look for scapegoats buddy. Smith was terrible against Swansea but he played well yesterday and was the only player who did anything to try and prevent their goal.

Agree MK, and also just to note Lucas was actually the one marking Rondon but had to step up to tackle Leko, Smith did well to track back and try cover the danger, just unlucky his block didn't work or Bogdan didn't manage to make a fairly regulation save.

Smith did make mistakes but to blame him for the goal isn't fair at all. he was arguably the least at fault compared to those all around him.

{Ed001's Note - I would have more issues with the way Skrtel stood in no man's land watching it all happen without making any attempt to cover the gap left, than I would with Smith's positioning.}

Lol, It started with Allen's poor pass and neither him or Stewart put in a tackle to stop the player while Smith did a Moreno ( Out of his position )
What game are some watching here?

I don't have an issue with Smith leaving that gap behind him. Its the way he didn't make any effort to get back until Rondon was slipped in. Only then did he get on his bike and try to put a block in.

You praise Smith for getting back but that's what Moreno does every game. Gets caught out of position then relies on his pace to save him and the team.
