A few thoughts from the game

1) clearly Klopp was looking to keep his depleted first team fresh, but likewise also it's incredibly clear how much we miss Hendo and Can and how little backup we have there

2) Stewart has had some good games, likewise Chirivella, but asking them to control the game without senior players around them (and with Ibe and Ojo ahead of them) was a bridge too far

3) Ojo had some moments but Ibe continues to flatter to deceive. Skrtel and Smith are running out of chances too.

At the end of the day, the result doesn't matter too much but this should give Klopp some resolve around strengthening further in a few key areas and I sincerely hope we move on quickly and pick ourselves up for Thursday. We need Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge and Llallana to be at their best if we're going to have a chance.

Up the Reds. Two more big games to overcome this season, let's give it our all.

Well said zimbo. If klopp is looking to strengthen at left back, bringing markovich back, grujic to arrive and possibly the arrival of a wide player ot looks like loans for many of todays players. I'd suggest smith, Stewart, chirvella, Ojo and ibe need a season long loan ideally with a premier league club. We know skittles is likely to leave, we need a top class keeper as mingolet isn't the answer with ward inexperienced to just step in. I see a lot of ins and outs to be honest. Don't see sturridge with us next season either.

Agree with Zimbo, If you're playing Stewart/ Chirivella put someone experienced along side them. Don't see what anyone seems to in Brad Smith just runs about like a headless chicken and is no improvement on Moreno. Also agree with Bon that maybe Chrivella, Ojo and Stewart need a loan in the prem or with a team Challenging in the Championship,

Spot on, Zimbo! Yes Fencey, Smith was bang aweful today. I'll never slate a young player for making mistakes HOWEVER it seemed he was just interested in attacking and couldn't be bothered to do his first job as in, defending. He did nothing right and he might as well have Ben sent off from the first whistle as we were playing one man short the whole game as he couldn't attack nor defend and the second yellow was flat out stupid. I'll give Chirivella a break as Klopp should have not started him without some experience around him. Smith needs to step it up, improve or he will be gone.

He may have played poorly today, but 'running out of chances' and putting him in the same sentence as skrtel. He's a young lad, with a handful of premier league games.
