Needed a moment to mourn in peace. What a game yesterday though.

I was absolutely gutted for Sakho but it was definitely the right thing to do to take him off and get him checked.

Mignolet was awful for their goal but I am finding it hard to criticise him as Aguero would've had a hattrick on another day.

Clyne struggled however. Sterling caused him nightmares all game. It was an enthralling battle though.

Lucas. Wow. Man of the match.

Toure was solid and didn't put a foot wrong.

Moreno was constantly out of position and should've conceded a penalty and been sent off. You can call it abuse if you want but when a left back gets subbed and a right midfielder is dropped in to replace him, you can't really dispute how bad he was.

Can was formidable. Absolutely bossed the midfield for 120 minutes.

Hendo was okay. He made some great tackles to prevent counter attacks but on the ball he was ineffective.

Milner was anonymous until he switched to left back and then he put in some great crosses for Origi who was unlucky not to score.

Firmino had a bad day. His finishing wasn't there and he must've been caught offside 5 times at least!

Sturridge was poor by his standards but still linked up well in the final third. He looked tired though as he wasn't running in behind.

Coutinho was excellent. Good finish, hard working etc. Would've been man of the match if Lucas hadn't played like a god!

All in all, a good team display in which we were unfortunate to lose in the end. If there is one thing you can't question, it's the teams passion. They ran themselves into the ground for us so hats off to them.

Disagree about Migs. All the ones he saved he should be expected to save as a premier league gk, and the one he let in he should definitely have saved.

Thought coutinho's passing was woeful myself.

The one Migs pushed onto the post was a really good save, also the one he got finger tips to divert it around the post. He also got himself down to a point blank shot that went over the bar. They were all really good saves. Ultimately tho, the one he cocked up on changed the whole direction of the game.

Can't believe so called "fans" slagging the players off. Every player gave everything they had to win that game but just fell short. Penalties is always a lottery and can go either way. Like EMS said they ran themselves into the ground for us, they should be applauded not criticised.

Saying Aguero would have had a hat-trick is pointless. If he doesn't let in the clanger for the first goal then City don't get the space to counter attack in and the whole game is different.

I'm sorry, I can't forgive that clanger, it completely changes the game when you go 1 down against City and any Sunday league keeper would have saved that.

Disagree about Clyne. I think over the 120 mins sterling did very little.

no one can say they were shocked by mignolet's latest clanger though can they? when ferandinho struck it there was no way he expected it to go in, that was the game changer right there, otherwise he could have gone on to make the saves he did, and phil scores 7mins to go and we steal a 1-0 win, that's what the top teams do they find a way to win, when not playing well but to build a great team you need a top goalkeeper, we badly need one.
