Hi Eds, I am just wondering if any of you have watched a GAA match or are regular viewers of the game, and if so what your opinions are of the game.

{Ed004's Note - I played it for years. It's a fantastic sport to watch and can be very hard to play at times haha}

Any professional soccer player wouldn't last 30 seconds on a Gaelic pitch.

{Ed004's Note - Or 10 seconds playing Hurley}

If you think rugby is a hard mans game you have no idea mate

Try getting a slap of a Hurley across the shins and as for the football side you need to be a mix of a ufc fighter with a bit of what you guys call football plus wrestling and rugby then I think you might have an idea

Ed04 Hup whip 😜.

{Ed004's Note - What? Haha. I didn't last long at Hurley. Very tough sport to play but fantastic to watch}

Played both but will never forget my last year playing couple of years ago was in a senior hurling match our corner forward got the butt of the Hurley in the ribs he turned to your man and bang broke his Hurley off his helmet 😁😁😁 amass brawl erupted of course but we went on to win and I got 2 goals and 3 points but football is a better game to play as it's more physical

Best games in the world. plenty of current and ex premier league players had good careers ahead of them before moving over to play professional football. Niall quinn, shane long, both have minor (u18) hurling all irelands. Neil lennon played for Armagh minors. Xabi alonso also also played when he came to ireland as a teenager to learn english. Socrates, the brazilian legend, is also supposed to have won a sigerson cup with ucc.

I'd take Hurling over Gaelic football any day. Unfortunately for me I live in county Antrim and we are terrible at both at county level. Still play for my local club but haven't got the legs for it anymore. Totally agree though some soccer players wouldn't last a minute in a GAA match.
