With skrtel signing his new deal it looks like one of Sakho or lovren will be sold.

Rubbish. Skrtel and sakho are the best we have for experience. Lovren will not be sold because Rogers will put his trust in the guy forever and hopefully will be proved right. He was great at Southampton. It's the right back position that needs solving now. And they need faith in the keeper.

Magico you really need to have a little search around on internet regarding Liverpool right backs 😊

Meant the left back sorry. Jose Enrique needs scrapping and moreno needs to concentrate or he'll be heading back to Spain soon also.
But moreno going forward is great to see. reminds me of riise

Thought we'd just signed a very accomplished right back in Nathaniel Clyne.

Skrtel is the worst CB we have and the fact that BR and many others think he's our best CB shows how little they know about defence. Lovren is a good CB who is short of confidence and playing with a poor CB (Skrtel) next to him with no cover from non-DM's like Allen and SG exposed him while he never had to do that at Southampton due to playing with a more competent CB in Fonte and protection with Wanyama and Scneiderlein. Skrtel is the common denominator in all the poor games the other CB's have because he doesn't communicate, drops too deep, other defenders can't play the offside because he keeps the opposition onside, goes for balls he can't win hence, others have to cover for him, lacks positioning hence his last ditch tackles and gets bullied by every big striker so don't know where his reputation for being tough comes from. Better get ready for more heart in mouth moments from the so called "best CB at LFC".

He's a good centre back Ohio, but unfortunately not Liverpool level, despite his admirable passion and effort.

Redohio

Sorry but you are completely contradicting.
Skrtel is a poor defender and Lovren is just short on confidence? Give me a break mate.
So lovren needs Wanyanma, Morgan and fonte to be effective and then you say Lucas is enough in the middle and should be the first name on the sheet.

Now let's talk about facts.

Lovren always lacked pace and every player with bit of pace will take him to kinder garden. He needs to play high up close to the DM every time else he is in big trouble.

He goes for the early audacious tackle, miss them completely and track back to cover them up, by this time Skrtel might already have dropped deep.

We have one good defender in Sakho and that's it for now.

Its getting a wee tiresome reading people's word for word copy of Ed001s view on Skrtel.
Personally I don't agree with Ed001 here.

Skrtel has a tough job. Covering for right backs who go missing/don't concentrate. Covering for a general lack of pace in the back four.(I know pace is available but it's not picked).
He knows his limitations.
IMHO he commits in the tackle, generally strong combatant (although Drogba/Benteke et al don't seem too worried about him). He gives a 100%.

He also scores goals.

True he's not skillful.
True he drops deep sometimes
.
True he makes mistakes.

I don't think he's a TOP centre back but he's not as bad as portrayed by some of you.

Nonsense, Red and Glory! Red, Skrtel has a tough job? Really? Doing what? Being a headless chicken and being bullied by each big striker he faces? Sickest joke on the planet, really. Skrtel is not covering for everybody and if you think so then I'm afraid that you have no idea what you are talking about. We can't even play the offside because he drops so deep. He communicates with no one hence no one knows what he wis or will do and can't stop grabbing jersies to save his life. Has no positional sense and awareness hence his headless chicken approach to defending and tackling. A good CB doesn't run around making tackles because due to positioning and awareness, he won't need to. Don't see Sahko, Ramos, Varane, Fonte, doing that, do you? Exactly! I have watched him closely and seen the exact faults the Ed has seen. His faults are there for all to see and well documented and the fact that you think we are copying and pasting Ed's comments just because we disagree with you, shows your disrespect and insulting attitude which shows your intellectual bankruptcy on this issue. Watch for yourself and you'll see what we are all seein.
