None of the top teams have strengthened there squads (yet) to obviously a stand out bet for the title. We are not in the mix because we need to GEL a new squad so where is your money gambling Reds ?

we've been geling our squad since the mid 1990's - it is no longer an excuse.

2.) 25 Jul 2015 23:56:51
Arsenal with cech says it all

3.) 26 Jul 2015 00:06:57
No idea lol but I got 30-1 for us to win the league and 20-1 on Benteke for top scorer, so for a score each I won't complain if either comes in ha ha

4.) 26 Jul 2015 00:52:53
Arsenal and Chelsea have the two best squads, as things stand. I'd still back Mourinho to outdo Wenger though. United won't be far off and have done well this summer, and may be about to get €60m for a rotational option. I'd argue our squad's better than City's though, we've improved this off-season much more than they have, if Rodgers plays it right we should be able to nick fourth!

5.) 26 Jul 2015 04:06:08
Id say Chelsea to regain the title because of how solid they are defensively

6.) 26 Jul 2015 06:00:18
I would say our squad is similar to city, except hart and aguero.

7.) 26 Jul 2015 07:04:11
Chelsea need not add people while arsenal will bring in one class striker. UTD beat barca yesterday and they look like a very solid team.

8.) 26 Jul 2015 08:48:24
I agree with Red Lenin. With the money Liverpool have spent over the last 2 decades and not one league trophy in the cabinet? A couple of near misses is all we have. Its a terrible statistic, everyone envolved in that time should hang their head in shame.

9.) 26 Jul 2015 10:39:08
I would have to jump to Rafa's defence here rover. he had it hard ( mancs had Ronaldo etc and god it pains me to say it but great at the time)

10.) 26 Jul 2015 11:19:09
Toddy, you mean the rotational fella they paid close to 80million POUNDS for if you factor in agents fees wages vat etc etc for half a season, that rotational fella? The same rotational fella they are about to lose probably about 30million on for as I say " around half a season of mediocrity "!

11.) 26 Jul 2015 11:36:41
Love Terry as a player, but I reckon he'll he caught out thus season.

Wenger has been very smart by making a solid goalkeeper signing which they've craved for seasons.

I can see Arsenal flying.

12.) 26 Jul 2015 13:08:56
Where does that put us, LFC and your pal, Rodgers, Davey?

If we are working on a loan deal for balletelli and presumably with an option to buy at the end of it, doesn't that make Brendans comments a few days ago where he categorically stated that balletelli would not be coming to Liverpool look a bit foolish?

It's my guess that the £20 million loss on Carroll and seeing other expensive recent purchases sat on the bench or loaned out has made the decision makers extremely cautious. We don't have the bottomless pit of cash like city or chelsea so it's a sad reality that we cannot afford to throw more money at a deal to make it happen. I am sure we will be in a better position to attract and afford the players to move us forward once we become an established top 4 team again with the extra revenue from the capacity increase at Anfield and the progress Brendan is making with the way we are becoming more consistent. Don't give Ian Ayre a hard time, it's not his money he didn't spend, it's ours and our futures.

I think it's been obvious since day one that downing could not get his head around the extra expectation at Liverpool, he was a better than average player at best and had we paid 10 million I could see the logic in signing him if we thought we could improve him, 20 million players should be the finished article at downing age. It's a shame BR didn't have the Dalglish money to spend because there seems to be a lot more consideration going in to new players. I am genuinely excited about the new season because it's the first time in ages that utd don't start as favourites and a real chance that they won't even make the top 3. I am hoping our season is decided on how we get on against the likes of spurs, arsenal and above and not dropping stupid points against the cannon fodder. Come on you reds.

Hands up all those people who have taken a job with a career ladder in mind, I.e a route to better pay and prospects. As much as Suarez has peeved me with his desire to move on he is only doing what people in the real world do and that is in his own mind rightly or wrongly, decided he wants a new employer, more money and better prospects. The great and the good have pulled on the red shirt and worn it with pride but we were kings then and sadly like most clubs we are now more of a business than an institution. We still have a monumental following and we have our memories, oh God do we have memories.I cannot crucify Suarez for believing the grass might be greener somewhere else, but like most honest reds just wished he could have had a bit more class and bit more patience before giving up on us and the club.

And asked him whether he would go straight out on loan to a Spanish second division team with a view to a permanent move with subsidised wages and for a fee of less than half of what we paid. I would not let the guy buy water on a hot day in hell.

Rodgers out seems to be the hot topic at the moment. My own personal opinion is that he is in over his head and just not capable of the job. The problem is its not just him is it.The rest of the management structure and decision making process at the club is making us a joke. Signing Ballotelli should be costing the job of whoever made the decision to spend £16 million on him. He was always going to fail and yet again we face a massive loss on a player to add to the massive list

Nothing and I mean nothing will ever change my opinion on Rodgers. He is out of his depth and is taking us backwards with every passing week. We played the worst Utd team for years yesterday and there was no drive or direction from the manager. How far away from where we should be does he have to take us before common sense prevails and he goes ?

Still amazes me that there are still people out there not seeing Rodgers for what he is. The club cannot sustain his method of buying players without any plan of how to use them whilst overlooking the obvious positions where we are weak, especially when you bring in players that nobody else will touch with a barge poll like Ballotelli because the manager's ego thinks he can polish a turd that has no intention of taking the talent they have on to the pitch and repaying the Faith put in him. Sorry mate but Rodgers deserves the bullet for that decision alone.

It really annoys me seeing players getting slaughtered by fellow reds when they have had one season in the EPL. He is still a kid and still learning. Maybe you should be asking questions of the coaching set up last season because when it comes to player performance last year he wasn't the exception,he was part of the rule.

What did sterling do to receive praise for ? Shocking end product yet again. The lad has an unbelievable turn of pace and a couple of tricks other than that I don't see a lot else. Credit to the defence and keeper for the clean sheet but the rest were average to scrap tonight.
