I'm happy with the Milner deal; I hope he is used mostly in a CM role.

It will be interesting if Lucas stays; if he does then four CM's in Henderson and Milner either side of Lucas or Can does look good.

Personally i would still buy a new No1 Goalkeeper.

If he was attainable I'd get Garbutt on a free from Everton.

I personally think Sterling will go; especially with Rodgers staying; hopwever with Lallana, Coutinho, Ibe, Markovic, Ojo, Texeria we have enough wide and AM's on the books.

I think Enrique as well as Coates will go as well.

After reading some of the comments it would appear Borini is on his way out and Balotelli is unlikely to find a buyer at the price we are asking; I think I saw a post saying Lambert would be staying. If we have Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, Lambert, Sinclair and maybe Ings then that does look a little overloaded to me.

Hopefully the money we get from Sterling will cover the transfer fee's, signing on fee's etc. for the above players (of course I would love a couple more world class players but I think we blew that when we spent the money last year).

Milner who is good not great, Henderson who is good not great, Lucas who is good not great and Can who is good not quite great. Hmm can't see many folks swooning over that midfield. Hardly Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano is it? More midtable mediocrity.

I would prefer Lucas to Mascherano any day

Alonso from Real Sociedad, a good not great player.
Mascherano from West Ham, a good not great player.

They elevated their status in the game whilst with us and earnt their 'galactico' moves. We can't feasibly bring in whatever many class as 'great', at least not currently. So we go the echoelon below and hope we come across more Alonso types, who flourish and become world beaters.

imagine if we were trying to bring in the then Real Sociedad, Xabi Alonso now. Many would be in meltdown!

Well said Big E.

Most of the signings we have are knocked before, during and after they play for us.

When Milner signed for Man City if the teams had the money then most would have attempted to sign him; wasn't it us that bought Villa's second best player the season after for £20m (Downing).

It's no shame playing second fiddle to Silva and Toure.

Also the attacking midfielders we have can play centrally so in my opinion we have a strong midfield.
