A change from Managerial squabbling:

Captaincy. What difference does a football captain make to a club in your opinion?
Capello is widely quoted as believing we overhype it in England. Personally I disagree, I think the captain's personality rubs off on a football team. It's for this reason I will be delighted if Hendo becomes club captain next season.
Gerrard was known for being a bit quiet as a captain. I don't know him, but I get the impression rather than confront players he'd just try and do it all himself. I don't think that's a great leadership quality. A good leader inspires the whole team, gets everyone working together.
I think Hendo will be a great leader, in the mould of Emlyn Hughes, then man Shankly correctly predicted was going to be England captain after just 28 appearances for Blackpool. I think next season will see the squad re-energised and confidence will be restored under a great new captain.

Don't make a blind but of difference who the caption is. Fabio is right in my opinion. Other than scoring a couple screamers when we were in the preverbal I don't rate Gerrard as a captain, a truly great player yes but not a great captain.

To many times we've been in a mess and all he does is clap his hands lol

Funny that, every pro that's played with him always seems to make a point about what a good leader he is.

I saw a team put together by Craig Bellamy on Soccer AM that contained a ridiculous amount of good players, leaders and captains, and he said "There's only one captain for me. Stevie G". That spoke volumes to me, even though Bellamy is a Liverpool fan.

There's a lot more to being a captain than just the 90 mins you watch on your TV.

There are two types of captain for me.
Those who lead by example and those who lead by communication.
Carragher led by communication "I am going to kill you if you don't do what I say" type of thing whereas Gerrard leads by example.
The very best captains can do both.

its amazing how many 'fans' give Gerrard grief recently.
The man is ONE of liverpools greatest ever players IMO and has been captain fantastic on many occasions.

its the mans last season and yes he's not the same player of years past but let's remember all he's done and give him the send-off he deserves.
