MIDFIELDERS

STINDL

I understand from an ex-German international that Liverpool have watched Lars Stindl on more than one occasion this season but he has decided to reject the interest of Liverpool and will move to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer

MILNER
{Ed001's Note - Milner has an offer on the table from City and is considering it, but it is likely he will look around before committing to anything. He is certainly not a done or nearly done deal yet.

KHEDIRA

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid are looking much less likely to offer a new deal to Khedira now that Silva has arrived. He is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any side outside of Spain now and AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Arsenal and Schalke 04 sre all interest. Each of these clubs has spoken with thge representatives of the player. The player's representatives have also approached Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich to guage interest as Khedira is keen to play in the Champions League next season. Chelsea and Arsenal are both concerned about the player's on going fitness. At the end of the day, if he can prove his fitness, Liverpool or Schalke would likely be the best fit for him, although don't discount Dortmund.}

Looking very very unlikely now.

VAZQUEZ

Ed002's Note - Liverpool enquired about the availability of Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez and were told Espanyol had an option as part of a buy-to-loan deal but that he would be allowed to leave this summer.}

PJANIC

PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic but both are constrained by UEFA sanctions and will need to sell before buying - and may well be put off by the price. PSG would be willing to include Verratti as part of the deal but Verratti is set on a move elsewhere. Liverpool and Spurs have enquired and are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that would be very high (€50M) and the player has said he has no interest in either club - whether or not that would change if the asking price and wages were matched I don't know. Manchester United also made an enquiry before appointing a new manager in the summer, but it went nowhere. Borussia Dortmund and Zenit St Petersburg seem to have dropped their interest. The player is looking for €250k per week in wages and would probably not be interested in moving to a non-Champions League club. Roma's owners have said they don't want to sell but the player is probably looking for a way out.}

KOVACIC

{Ed002's Note - Even though he has very recently extended his contract, Inter are willing to sell Kovacic and have spoken with Arsenal, Liverpool and Hertha Berlin about the player. Nikky Vuskan has said there has not been any approach to him from any club at this time and that whilst Inter may be willing to sell the player, Kovacic wants to stay at the club. Nikky Vuksan has however said he is aware that Inter and Barcelona are having discussions about some "issues" that would involve Kovacic. To explain, Barcelona are plotting a deal that will see Alex Song and/or Pedro Rodrigues move to Inter on loan until January and then will be part of a permanent deal for Kovacic.

I am not going to go in to too much detail but Piero Ausilio, Inter's Sporting Director, told a Spanish journalist that Liverpool had made a "funny little joke" with a €10M offer.}

ILLARAMENDI

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid will look for a significant fee for Asier Illarramendi who is of interest to Real Sociedad and Napoli, in addition to Arsenal and in particular Athletic Bilbao who were negotiating a January transfer. Will almost certainly move in the summer. I understand Inter Milan and AC Milan dropped what interest they had after being told that the player would look for a return to the Basque country if he leaves.

FILIPE ANDERSON

Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid have approached Lazio about taking Filipe Anderson as a replacement for Arda Turan. Manchester City have a declared interest whilst many clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have had him watched recently. Lazio have offered him a new contract which he will in my view agree to.}

BENDER

No interest from Liverpool.

DE JONG

{Ed002's Note - Nigel De Jong is interesting Juventus who are expecting to make significant midfield changes this summer. De Jong may be considered as an alternative for Manchester United but he will be far from first choice.

He won't be moving to Liverpool.}

PASTORE
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool did make an enquiry about the player in 2010. PSG need to raise funds but he is not currently expected to leave. I am not aware of any contact with PSG about the player from Liverpool.}

VIDAL

There has been no bid for Vidal who won't be moving to Liverpool.

FIRMINO
Firmino (he will most probably move to another English side who have had discussions with his club and put a couple of offers on the table

TURAN

{Ed002's Note - Ahmet Bulut continues to whip things up, but this time he is correct that Arda Turan will very probably be available to move in the summer - however it will take a bid of around €40M for any sort of deal to happen - plus very significant wages and plus Champions League football. Atletico Madrid have twice rejected offers from Schalke but the only club that has shown any real interest at this time is Galatasaray, and the cost would be an issue. Don't rule out interest from Bayern Munich or Manchester United at some point. Bulut has spoken with a number of sides about the player - and there remains aslim chance that Atrsenal could turn to Arda. Atletico will negotiate as they need the money for the summer with bids for Cavani and Vietto coming.}

HERNANES

(A little bit of a wild card, but here goes. Talks with Barcelona over Kovacic have not really come to any useful conclusion and no one seems interested in putting any sort of acceptable offer on the table for him Inter need to sell a couple of midfield players to bring in the replacements they want - like Liverpool they are constrained by previous spending and the FFP rules. So, Inter now say they will keep Kovacic as no deal seems possible, and will make another player available - so I will throw the name of Brazilian Hernanes in to the ring as a player Liverpool might well consider. I appreciate that at 30 he is far from young, but he would be a very worthy free kick taking, goal scoring central midfield addition to the squad - and one to ably replace Gerrard. He is available and will be at a price that would suit Liverpool.)

MATUIDI

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in Matuidi and PSG need to sell to raise funds, but whilst the player is keen to stay in Paris his agent has made it clear that he will listen to offers from England. Arsenal has also enquired about his availability.

Liverpool has shown no interest

GRIEZMANN

{Ed002's Note - Griezmann only moved last summer, and Atletico has no intention of selling unless a very significant fee is offered. Whilst Griezmann has said on a number of occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, he has said he would be interested in a move to Chelsea if the opportunity arose.

Chelsea would need to pay more than his release clause to make any such deal happen, but with interest in other players not looking fruitful, I expect them to make an offer for Griezmann. Atletico have a replacement in mind.

Both PSG and Bayern Munich would also be very interested if he became available - but I doubt that PSG will be in a position to do any sort of deal, even though they are desparate for a high-end French player, and Bayern Munich are looking to him for a specific role that they have another player in mind for.}

NAINGGOLAN

{Ed002's Note - Nainggolan still has some complex co-ownership issues which once fully resolved will see offers from at least Manchester United and Manchester City, whilst Roma look for a new deal. He has a stupid enough hairdo to fit in nicely at Liverpool, but there has been no interest

SCHNEIDERLEIN

Liverpool has no interest in him

KONDOGBIA

{Ed002's Note - Kondogbia has had varying fortunes since moving to Monaco and whilst they were willing to let him move on both in the summer and, if the price was right in January, the only interested clubs have immediately back down for financial reasons. Monaco has FFP problems which are a little worse than those of Liverpool. They will certainly be looking to sell players this summer. Manchester City have a firm interest in Kondogbia as a possible replacement for Yaya Toure. Chelsea and Arsenal may well rekindle their interest in Kondogbia - but both will look to other players first.}

ALONSO
{Ed002's Note - Alonso will not be returning to Liverpool this summer.}

Thought there was a bid in for Vidal and it was our usual embarrassing half price bargain bin offer, which serves to alienate the sellers and at the same time looks to placate fans wanting marque signings

Great update. If we get Milner, it feels like we're in no great urgent need so we can afford to go for deals only if make real sense rather than panic buys. Lucas for Kovacic maybe? Then we can also sell Allen.

Hope Milner doesn't choose Arsenal or somewhere else now given the shambles of the last few weeks.

What worries me is that with Lucas allegedly going, we'll have no effective defensive midfielders. Rodgers will persist with this wretched 3-4-3 formation with Can at centre back, meaning that Joe Allen will be the midfield anchor. Teams will literally run through us for fun. As they're doing now.

What about mitrovic??? I know you guys think a lot of him and believe he is exactly what we are missing !

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Anderlecht's Aleksandar Mitrović from Borussia Monchengladbach, Manchester United, Swansea, Dortmund, Newcastle and Eintracht Frankfurt. The interest of Leicester and Bayern Munich seems to have gone, but Arsenal may just look again at the player - depending on which direction they wish to go given their first choice as opted to moved elsewhere. The interest from Manchester United is recent and ramping up I am told. Newcastle are likely not an option.

I think he would be a good fit for Liverpool, but there is no interest right now. Aleksandar Mitrović offers everything Liverpool are missing - he is young, strong, fit, good in the air and he scores goals. In a way he is like a traditional centre forward. Unlike Manquillo, Moreno, Sakho and Gerrard, he speaks fluent English. People who have met him have said he is likeable and is reliable and will do what he is told. He would also likely slot straight in to the first team squad. Lambert perhaps at his best and 10 years ago or so would be the closest Liverpool have. }
