In the AZ Alkmaar v Villa game in European Conference League last night, a young fan made a banner asking for Moussa Diaby's shirt. One of the stewards after the game, took the banner and threw it in the trash, as is the norm after games at AZ Alkmaar's stadium. The kid was in tears sitting in the stars crying not just about not getting Diaby's shirt, but about having his banner trashed. He looked devastated.

What happened next? Moussa Diaby walks out of the dressing room and is taken to the edge of the stands and the kid is summoned over to meet him. Diaby takes off his shirt, hands it to the kid, poses for pictures with him (huge smile on the kid's face, ofc), gives the kid a kiss on his forehead, says his goodbye's and walks back into the dressing room, all smiles.

Frankly and no matter how much people think football is dying a slow death, I LOVE THIS GAME!

Very decent of the player to do that. On the other hand sometimes a kid needs to learn that they can't always get what they want.
How long untill every kid gets upset because of not getting a shirt?

About the same length of time that "adult" posters take to get upset because the club won't sign a player they want?

What are you saying Walter, he shouldn’t have gotten the shirt because life’s a beach and all? ?.

I literally have no idea how a thread started about a beautiful football story about a kid who loves a player so much he got a banner made for him, degenerated to a poster going after the same kid who just wanted the shirt of his fav. player. Seriously, I have no words, whatsoever. Sigh!

I’m going to take my kid to the game with a sign saying “Trent, can I have your sports car please? ”.

It’ll literally be hundreds of years @O2 - not all kids want a football shirt.
