I think it would be interesting to see the difference between chances against over the last few years. A new midfielder is not going to stop the shambolic (at times non existent) defendibg. Every team will concede opportunities it just appears that a few of our Fab Four at the back couldn’t be arsed and hoping some one else will sort it.

Part of the job of a midfield is to protect the defence. Our midfield didn’t do that. Henderson isn’t a number six and that was patently obvious tonight. Square pegs in round holes.

To me the 3 biggest issues right now are:

- energy
- team defending, especially midfield-defence
- Getting Mo involved more than an outlet on the wing.

Klopp will sort it.

Obviously a midfield has to protect the defence as well as many other functions, my point is that even with the best midfield on the planet if our right back goes walk about, or can’t look over his left shoulder, or Virg doesn’t press an attacker or attempt to block a shot it makes little difference what the midfield is doing. Trent and Virg are coasting. I would say that our ratio of conceding chances has not increased that much just our defenders are bang average at the min. I trust Klopp to sort it and in fairness it’s still only August so the talk of the season being over is completely ott knee jerk crap.

Three games and no wins. Each performance as bad as the last. Haven’t looked like winning any of them. Klopp is a great manager but he’s not a miracle worker.

It was a poor day at the office so to speak what made it worse was the devil's 11 had Mcguire on the bench the whole game . would anyone care to comment on Fernando's what a cry baby at one stage he was moaning about a challenge only to find out it was his fellow countryman carvalho also a thought he should have seen a 2nd red after mo had scored with him not letting the ball go other than that no complaints regards the results.

Red for not letting the ball go Rabh? It was our kickoff, that means our ball. Players trying to rip the ball from an opponent when it's their possession should get a yellow duh.

Meath you’re spot on to criticise the defence mate and they deserve it. For me though whilst this isn’t a defence of them but the midfield are playing a huge part. The first goal Vvd will get pelters and rightly so but Utd’s midfield passes the ball around our midfield like there was no one there to get the opportunity and once in the box Milner is just as bad as Vvd. Milner panicks and dives in whilst Vvd does nothing.

For the 2nd goal look how easy our midfield gave possession away.

Both full backs bomb forward but our midfields inability to win 2nd balls and keep possession is leaving the defence exposed far more often to what they are used too.

I don’t really understand the when you score grabbing the ball and running it back to the half way line. The opposition have to kick off regardless to restart play. If they take 60 seconds walking to the half way line with our without the ball it’s still 60 seconds wasted.

Meath - this reminds me a bit of Klopp's early days when individual errors would destroy the best laid plans hahaha.
