So Salah scores the winning penalty for Egypt in the shootout. Looks like it was all set up for him to be the hero, as why would you have him taking penalty No 5. Normally your best penalty takers are the first to take them.

Well he can only be set up to be the hero if everything goes to plan before him. Just say a couple of Egypt players miss?

I seem to remember Ronaldo was supposed to be the 5th penalty taker in a tournament for Portugal. I forgot which one but it didn't get that far ad Portugal had missed to many pens by that point.

Salah missed his last one for us, so he might be down the pecking order.

Seriously though, the player might have a say in which penalty they take; especially big heads, I mean names, like Gerrard, Ronaldo and Salah.
