Hi Eds and all. Been a while. I've been wondering about the Ox the last few months. Seems to barely even come on as a sub these days never mind start. Is there any insight as to why? For a player who seemed to be really highly regarded by Klopp to be now not getting a look in I wonder if something has happened behind the scenes.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of. Klopp only seems to want to use him in certain situations.}

Ox and Keita both need to be sold. 240k a week down the drain for the club.
For the club to move forward, we can't have passengers earning big wages in our squad anymore. Either you are good enough to challenge for a first team spot every week, or you leave.
I'd rather pad the squad with some of our highly talented youth players like Musialowski, Balagizi, Elliot etc than pay the perennial squad players big wages for doing next to nothing.
Time for Klopp and Edwards to get ruthless.

Can't shift players on because not in plans anymore
This is the problem of big wages / long contracts
Why would players leave if earning big money - to go to a club paying a lot less
Gone are the days where players care about sitting on a bench - they're paid regardless
most see football as a job rather than being lucky to play
With C.V. there are limited clubs willing to give the likes of money MU MC LFC Chelsea etc pay their squad players

I suspect Ox is crocked and will break down if used regularly. Or at the very least, diminished so much by his injuries that he isn't at the level we need anymore.

It's a pity, because once he got going up until the first injury he got for us, it was looking like we'd absolutely robbed Arsenal at £40m.

Something Red, it's all about opinions, AOC has never started more than 17 Premiership gamers in any of his 10 seasons and had only months left on his contract when we signed him. One of Edwards worst ever deals. 4.0m would have been a sensible fee.

The other thing is that just because posters on here want rid of certain players it doesn't mean that Klopp and his staff do. Klopp sees what players bring to the table differently to us mere mortals.
Fans want dazzling skills, lots of assists, goals and fancy tricks. Klopp wants certain jobs done on the pitch, and that will (rightly) always come first. Gini Wijnaldum being a classic example. He sacrifices a lot of his attacking flair because Klopp has him doing other things that fans just aren't aware of. Instead they call him lazy, crap or disinterested.
