That's a lot of CDM/ CM at the club

Henderson
Fabinho
Gini
Ox
Keita
Milner
Grujic
Jones
Thiago (pending)

I do think Gini must be off and Grujic needs to moved on to get regular football he isn't going to get into the team he needs fresh start. odd thing is if Brewster leaves we are going with the same backups as last year

GK
Alisson
Adrian

RB
Trent
Williams

LB
Robertson
Tsmikas

CB
VVD
Gomez
Matip
VDB + Koumetio?

CDM/ CM
Henderson
Fabinho
Keita
Ox
Gini (leaving? )
Thiago (pending)
Milner
Jones

RW
Salah
Shaqiri

LW
Mane
Origi

ST
Firmino
Mini

Tbh I think it's a decent squad

There is still slot of players that need to be moved on for the sake of there careers and because they are not going to play Phillips, Grujic, Brewster, Wilson, Karuis

Ed's how are we doing for HG quota with this maybe signing of Thiago?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to sell non HG players.}

I think Klopp is looking more at the Ox to cover the front 3. He didn't start a lot of big games in the centre of midfield last season and towards the end of the season he was used a lot more in the front 3. Sadly i think he actually struggles when he is in the front 3 as well but as Ed002 has mentioned we need to retain HG players.

{Ed002's Note - Actually what I have said is that Liverpool need to move on non HG players.}

I wouldn’t rule out a late move for someone like Daka or Sarr if we can sell the likes of Grujic, Wilson and Shaqiri. I’ve taken it as the thiago deal will be financed by the sale of Brewster.

But don't forget how many injuries we get in cm. ox is out. shaq is out. baby/ hendo can't last full seasons and Jones isn't a fully established first teamed. Would keep Gini as he's so versatile.

Ed002 my bad I didn't word my comment particularly well. Totally understand what you meant. At a guess then we need to retain HG players as well as move on non HG, unless we were obviously looking at bringing in more HG to replace them.

{Ed002's Note - The HG players are of no consequence as far as the rules are concerned - only the non HG (currently capped at 17 over 21).}

Luke can't really expect a baby to stay fit in the premier league mate. Far too physical for it. Plus it would need plenty of naps, feeding and changing during games.

For info. we will now have 18 non hg players. Too many. This does include Karius and Grujic who are available for sale. Clubs knowing we are over quota when beginning negotiations for either player isn’t exactly a strong starting point.

Judging by Grujic’s camps comments this week he will stay for a while but he’s for sale. And he will need to be sold or one other like Origi for someone like Sarr to arrive.

We could not register Karius for the season but a waste of Karius’ time and ours, not to mention money.

{Ed0666's Note - are you the club accountant Barnsey? Just rejoice the signing of Thiago for a few seconds then bah humbug all you want. Life’s too short mate.

The OP asked how it affected the quota, was just answering. Someone also asked if Sarr was coming, thought I’d just throw in the factors required for it to happen. Sorry if it came across a bit moody. I’m happy.

The Premier League proposed a maximum of 17 non-"homegrown" players in each club squad, and the squad size is a maximum of 25. This means that in a full squad of 25 players, there must be at least eight homegrown players

To help people understand ED02s point.
