United are interested in him which mean he will be heading there. Every player which any other of the top 4 are seriously interested in, will go to them and not to us for all the obvious reasons. It is a waste of time and money to even try compete with them.

Players nowadays prefer to be on the bench of one of the big 4 and not to start for us as the Falcau decision to join Chelsea demonstrate. And Firmino will not be on the bench (though with Depay, Mata and all the other midfielders there some will be frustrated.

I seriously hope this is true - he can play false nine, as a twin striker, winger or backup Coutinho if he gets injured. Far more needed than Kovacic IMO given we have Can and Lucas at DM and perhaps even Milner.

If we sell Sterling, we should bid strong IMO and worst case we push Man Utd to pay over 20mln for him (compared to rumoured 13mln), but at a best case we steal him away and send a major statement, plus take a bit of pressure off Ings/Origi while Sturridge injured.
