Question for ed001 please,

Do you think Kovacevic could be a replacement for Henderson? Rodgers tried to sell him when he first got here and has not given him the armband yet either.

I know this suggestion is a little bit conspiracy theoryish but Rodgers has slowly reduced the number of players from previous management to almost nothing and didn't want Henderson in the first place so could we be looking to sell?

{Ed001's Note - no I think Kovacic is the replacement for Gerrard, not Milner. I expect him to be the one who sits and directs play.}

Where does that leave Emre Can? Emre should be one of the first players on the teamsheet.

Young, i have asked that question several times on these boards YET nobody has responded. i guess it`s a question that no one wants to answer because there is no logical answer for him not playing in midfield as he should be

{Ed001's Note - I don't think anyone can answer other than Rodgers. Not even sure he knows himself, he certainly doesn't seem to plan things out.}

I answered. If you can't be bothered too read then don't make false claims. But that was my reasoning. Perhaps br believes that4 6 0 is the new fad

The only thing I could say is that Rodgers seems to prefer players that are adaptable and can play in several positions, particularly midfielders.
There would also be cover for injury - we've suffered in the past, for instance, when Henderson has been out ; Milner could now step in there.
Kovacic seems as if he can play deeper or more advanced / wider, so there's options all over now.
That's good, as there are all kinds of formations that can be made but the downside can be it indulges Rodgers' tactical experimentation too far.

I hope that there is another striker on the way or, by some miracle, Sterling drops his agent and writes 1,000 lines after school as punishment.

I think hendo could be move further up the field to a right or left sided attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 with kovacic/Lucas/can occupying the deeper roles and coutinho/hendo/Milner/ibe/markovic/lallana all competing for the attacking roles. I remember hendo was briefly used as a left side attacking cam about two seasons ago against Spurs and he did really well playing quick passes and linking up with the strikers. His finishing is at times lethal, but like the old coutinho, it could use some work on consistency. This formation also provides lots of flexibility, and would suit sturridge and Ings. To me it makes the most since, but wouldn't be surprised to see this 3-5-2 bull continue under Rodgers.
