Did we ever have any interest in Declan Rice? Brilliant young homegrown player in a position we badly needed someone and he was available. Probably had his heart set on Arsenal but seems surprising that a player ticking so many boxes wouldn’t be looked at.

I wanted Rice with us but unfortunately there was never a chance.
A lot of the posters didn't think he was good enough for a top four team.
Personally I think he's been top notch for Arsenal.

To be fair a lot of posters didn’t think Curtis Jones was any good either. We posters have been known to be wrong once or twice.

I like rice but don’t think he is anywhere near worth £105m. Think he is overrated because his English. But I would love him in our team because we are crying out for a proper Dm but am sure we will find one at a fraction off that price.
I think he is a good few levels below Rodri and Fabinho in his pomp. Rice on the ball for me all ways looks like a cb playing in midfield.

There are a lot of supporters who don't think Jones is any good. I'm sat on a coach, on way back from the game, who nearly all think that.

These fans who slate jones don't have a clue, if we’d have paid money for him they defend him as a shrewd signing for the squad.
Not everyone in a squad can be or has to be a world beater, but he does a good job, plays well and keeps his head down. What’s not to like?

Jones is a good player but if we’re being honest up until 6 months ago he had spent the majority of 3 years either injured or not playing well bar the odd game here and there. It’s good to see him finally playing well regularly though.

Onekiss if we’re being honest 6month ago he only just turned 22. So with Henderson Fabinho thaigo miller and so he was never given a run off games. Now he is just coming into his own but I don’t know too many 21 year olds playing loads off football in cm in the premier league for the top 6 teams.

@Onekiss - why do you think the club persisted with him?

Do you think it’s a possibility that someone at the club who is paid for their expertise recognised that the boy had talent but was struggling with injury and subsequently asked to play a role that he was unaccustomed to?

Anyway, the point still stands that we posters are sometimes wrong.

I’m glad we stuck with him. I just hope he can stay fit and keep playing well and keep improving.
