Hi Ed's, re the latest news that slots staying next season? Do you think he can or will fix things? He alluded to issues with fitness so hoping he has realised some of the larger issues we have with playing style and squad.

Slot said he is contracted to the club, and based on convos they're having, he has every reason to believe he will be here.
It's not an announcement that he is staying, but an answer to a question if he is.

He said he is speaking to players and recruitment? Not sure, what's going to happen but it definitely doesn't sound like he is going to leave whether that's via being dismissed or by mutual consent. He sounds very much involved in preparations for next season.

Personally, I just hope that if he is still here next season he takes off his rose tinted glasses and realises we have serious issues not only with style of play but personnel and squad depth.

ed1 - as per my post further up, I don't perceive anything he said as inaccurate or an evasion of sorts. If we take his comments on face value then it just sounds like he's getting on with it.

Couple possibility. 1-he genuinely doesn't know and Hugghes et al are conspiring behind his back. or 2- he knows he is going and is just part of the plan to keep it hush until they can announce

Faith, I read some of his quotes online (cos you couldn't pay me to listen to that guy speak live) and frankly, he spoke a lot of words but said a whole lot of nothing, substantively.

Ed is correct here because all the mess that came out of his month was stuff a manager under pressure, nearing the potential sack or even, one who knows he is gone but can't speak on it yet publically, would say hence, he was being evasive as Ed said.

I cannot take at face value what Slot said because of the words he used which essentially meant, "I will/cannot not answer the question"

@Oli, rather than read extracts taken out of context you should actually listen to what he says. If you can't be ar$ed listening, why should anybody be ar$ed reading what you have to say?

As I said in a different post earlier today, me, you and 99.9 % of readers / contributors on this forum don't have the first clue what's going on behind the scenes. Making declarative statements based on assumption, speculation and opinions is pointless.
