Hi Eds. Been hearing that Perez at Real had issues with Alonso wanting to use his own fitness coach from Leverkusen. Xabi apparently stood by his man. Do you think the same could be an issue at LFC if Xabi was to join us? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - have you seen how bad our players' fitness is? He would have to be an idiot to not want to bring his own man! It would not be an issue, I very much expect the position of our current fitness and conditioning coaches to be reviewed in the close season. The whole set up is likely to be overhauled after the mess with injuries and half fit players.}

Was anything changed behind the scenes in the summer Ed? Or the fitness of the players held up last season from working with Klopp previously and we just slowly deteriorated this year. Is Slot honestly to stupid to see this? Surely he can't be.

{Ed001's Note - the basic fitness just carried over. It is looking worse now because the new signings did not have that experience of working under Klopp, so, other than Wirtz, they came in lacking basic fitness. Those that worked under Klopp looked after themselves over the summer and it shows.}

Morning eds1 How hard is it to get players up to top fitness during the season instead of the preseason. I mean are we even trying to do that because it looks like we are at same level as we were the first couple of games and we are 21 games in!

{Ed001's Note - it is fairly difficult but not impossible. It just has to be gradual. We should certainly see signs of improved fitness by now.}

Ed didn't the guy Klopp brought in from Bayern leave? He had the squad in fine form.

{Ed001's Note - Kornmayer did yes, but he was just one of a group. He is available as well, should bring him back.}

Has everyone forgotten already how preseason was badly affected by Jota's passing? And, I am sure affected the players to varying degrees even when they did return to training. Not to mention the churn of so many new signings and departures. YNWA anyone?

{Ed001's Note - you can't keep using that as an excuse. They have had months to rebuild the lost fitness and there is no sign of it. Clearly you have never worked with a professional athlete on their fitness at any time if you think that something like that is responsible for a complete lack of conditioning and fitness 6 months plus down the line.}

Ed, I learned that our players were really fit under Klopp cos not only did they take good care of themselves in the off season, they used to received tailored fitness regimes to get ready for preseason cos they knew how hard Klopp rides players during preseason. Also, I wouldn't be against that cos Kornmayer was at Bayern and we all know how much of a physical juggernaut they were under him.

Lastly, Leverkusen played the high press under Alonso as well so should he come in, the players under Klopp who are still here will be used to it. Ironically, this is what Alonso wanted to bring into the RM setup and reportedly, the players bitched and moaned about it like the brats that they have always been.

The scenario can be viewed from many different angles ( take your pick ) What Liverpool have is not working, on the pitch they're slow, ponderous, and obviously not fit enough, this entertainment business is not entertaining.

with hierarchy seemingly unwilling or unable to change this. Is it totally unreasonable to be looking for the tools at your disposal, to be used in the best way possible, for objectives to be achieved? Even if that's elsewhere.
