Brendan instructs Ian Ayre that he wants Benteke a player that fits the FSG model, young, gifted and with a sell on value. ian Ayre gets on his Harley and rides to Sunderland and writes them a cheque for 20 million. the Sunderland chairman can't believe his luck and doesn't mention the extra 0 digit on the cheque. Can one of the ED's please give an informed and comprehensive explanation as to what happened with the mickey transfer? There's been a lot of hot air and inadequate facts. Third party ownership, mafia involvement, player greed, LFC being prudent and thrifty, Ian Ayre messing up the deal (that one is totally believable) and so on and so forth. Please someone give me some facts so I can sleep properly again. Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - THis has ben covered but in simple terms Liverpool did not make an acceptable offer to buy him.}

I sincerely believe that our meanness in the mickey transfer is down to kk and Daniel commolis ludicrous transfer dealings. if we hadn't paid ridiculous money for downing, Henderson, Carroll etc I reckon the owners would have released the extra 5 or so million to get mickey. its a real shame because this guy is going to explode on the world stage with his next club Liverpool's loss will be anzis gain. I can't believe more clubs aren't in for this guy. I saw him play twice last season and he was sensational and scores for fun from midfield him and coutinho together would be mind blowing. would need Lucas and gerrard in there for sure and play with 2 wing backs. remember when we didn't pay sevilla an extra million for alves he went on to become the best right wing back on the planet. come on fsg give us an early Xmas present

I'm sorry you are getting vitriolic prose from 'Leo the loser' but instead of over reacting and threatening to close the site down why don't you not post his comments? That way you render him impotent and millions can sleep easy at night knowing that when they wake up in the morning the Liverpool rumours site is still operating.
I appreciate the good work you do eds 02 but I can't help but that you abuse your power a little bit with your threats. you probably won't post this and if u do give me the opportunity of a right to reply much appreciated

I'm incredulous at the notion that the inferred £20 million for Papa is considered to pricey when the paid £31 million for Ferdinand in 2002. why is papa overpriced 11 years later and £11 million cheaper? I don't get this football thing! {Ed002's Note - It is of course nothing whatsoever to do with the price of Ferdinand. Would you feel better if Liverpool paid £31M for Papadopoulos?}
