Ed's, why does it seem to take longer for us to sign a player, than it does for other clubs.
We identify a position we need cover for. (ie CB)
We identify targets Papa, sakho, llori, toby.
We inquire about availability/price.
Weeks later we are still no closer to getting anyone.
Other clubs do the same process, but a few days later they've signed. {Ed002's Note - It takes Liverpool the same time as anyone else once an offer has been accepted. You speak of these targets like the club has been seriously interest ed in them.
As an example. The club has been trying to strike a deal for Ilori - but there remains a significant difference in valuation. If it comes to agreement being reached, then the deal will be concluded.}

Liverpool have no intension of signing a marquee player, it's just posturing for the fans, so they can say we tried to sign willian, pappa, sakho, still nevermind we have made the team stronger with some squad players.
