Downing, Carroll, Shelvey & Spearing have all now departed.
Wage bill must be significantly lighter and new recruits most likely on incentive based contracts (with lower weekly wage package). Given FSG policy.
However, the team does not look any stronger than it did at the end of last season.
Agger & Suarez continue to be linked with moves away and it will be hard to see them staying.
If they leave we will be without doubt a much weaker team. Are the other players not very concerned about the exodus? I struggle to see how we can even begin to compete for a 4th place finish.
We also continue to fail in attempts to buy quality players. Costa etc. If anything this is reinforcing the perception that we are a club in decline.
Apologies for pessimistic nature of post but any positive news you may have would be very welcome.
