we had a decent start to the season but Arsenal was the first real test. I posted a week earlier addressing fellow fans about our weaknesses and problems. in the arsenal game it came obvious that there were real concerns.

Our off the ball football is the worst in the PL . OFF the ball were incredibly fragile . in the game against arsenal it was most noticable. We juts didn't press them at all. modern football is all about off the ball movement. our off the ball play is SUPER HODGESON 10 MAN BEHIND THE BALL game. we may get away wid it with mediocre teams but not top sides. we let quality midfield of arsenal play tippy tappy. Gerrard and hendo in defencive mid were LAUGHABLE. it almost seemed sometimes that our Midfield when off the ball were sleeping.it was so silly they were standing sometimes not moving an inch. standing and watching arsenal passing around.

1) Dortmund is a perfect example of off the ball pressing game. they play 5 secs get the ball back game. at a time 4/5 players attack the ball at once when not in possession. they allow opponents no time. they get the ball back and immediately lauch an attatck. is Dortmund overflooded wid stars? . Do they have the SAS?. do they have a coutinho and a gerrard?.do they have the Toures, the Skrtels, the Enriques, the sakhos?.NO. We have better players then Dortmund. but its not abt who u have rather abt how u play .nd we play LET ME GET A NAP AND MY LEG HURTS ineffective off the ball game. gerrard and company in midfield stand idly by while opponents penetrate the defence. ITS SHOCKING .

2) another example I would love to give is of Atletico madrid. they watched the success of dortmund and adkopted to their tactics and lookj at them now. they are the main rivals to barca in la liga nd my favourites to win the CL this year. they beat both barca and real earlier this season. only 1 point behind barca in the league. Are they overflooded with stars?. no.

they keep attacking their opponents. 4/5 players attack the ball at once and they get it back nd then launch attack . they press, press, press. they don't allow even 3 secs of tym. watch them play u'll knw what i'm sayin.OFF the ball game decides the fate in the modern game. and we are rubbish at it. brenda needs to urge his teams to press like Dortmund and play a 5 secs win it rush pressing

i saw last week in cl how dortmund beat arsenal. while we were battterd. they didint allo them 3 secs on the ball. I suggest people watch the game tonight and see what i'm talking abt. dortmund will again thrash them today with high intensity pressing. because that's the way to play

So we have had a good start nd been consistent. consistency is the key in the pl . but the fact is in terms of quality we are still miles behind the likes of Chelsea, Dortmund, Bayern, Madrid and barca.

We are better than we been in 3 yrs . we can be the best in the world with the players we have. we need to fix a few things up for that.

Firstly we don't play Tiki-taka anymore. we play a fast pacey fluent passing game which is better. but is this style of play and our performance good enough?. NOT AT ALL. we are missing the PRESSING GAME. its totally gone from our books. we sit back and hit on the break . Boring Hodgeson style sitback nd let attack rain game.

Im giving examples of 2 teams.1) Borrussia Dortmund . 2) Atletico Madrid .they play a high tempo pressing game . press and press is the key for them. nd look at the success both are having. are they overflooded with stars? NO. I believe we have far better players than Dortmund do. Brenda needs to add the high intensity 5 seconds ball back pressing game in our play. if we do that . we will be unstoppable.look at southampton for example. pocchettino has introduced this style to them and they are fourth and improving. I wnt be surprised if they finish top6. if we install that pressing play while in defence then we will be a force. nd with our defence I believe we will easily get away with that system.
