One for the Eds and anyone with an opinion on the League 3 proposals.
I know it's not worth getting too worked up about because the FA have no control over implementation of some of their proposals but I would like to get people views on whether it would work.

The biggest problems I can see are if the reserve teams are good enough to compete in a higher league, the best experience the players will get is at Championship level (because I would imagine the reserve team cannot play in the same league as the first team) which hardly prepares them for Premier league or international football. Established clubs would be pushed down the divisions or out of the league with possible loss of good clubs and football for their communities.
Existing clubs in a division could go into a season knowing the best position they can finish in is 8th or 9th due to 7 or 8 premier league B teams being in their division with better players and better resources.
If the B teams find that they cannot compete, the standard of football the young players will be learning will be lower than Championship and even worse for their development. They will be playing battle hardened pro's (I know that is the point) who will be older, stronger and tactically better if not better players and I think it will restrict their development.
And who will turn up to support the Ressies anyway? There could be more away fans turning up than home supporters.
There needs to be a solution that forces clubs to play young players or release them so no team has loads of young players with no route into the first team. Then those players released can actually have a career rather than sitting in academy or ressie sides until they are 25 with 3 sub appearances to their name and no chance of making it. Then it would support the league system by better players being spread throughout the leagues and clubs rather than 10 clubs having 3 or 4 sides of top 2 division players with a restricted number even getting a game.
Also with the proposal to use the loan system - why do clubs send good young players to clubs in lower leagues with inferior coaching than their parent club to learn football at a level where you get away with a mistake that you couldn't in the premier league? It seems to me that if you send a young player to league one for experience you will get back a league one player.
Any thoughts from Eds or posters very welcome.

Interesting few weeks ahead with Gerrard picking up a hamstring injury today. Lots of debate on here on the balance of the midfield with and without Gerrard so we will get a chance to see what the team and midfield is like without him against some good teams.
