Hi all, I know its not LFC related but I thought Steven Naismaith's gesture with the tickets was class. Nice to see that some professional footballers recognise how fortunate they are.

Very nice touch.

(still hope we stuff 'em though)

Morning all, having watched last nights game, I think that there are some parallels between the two teams and our current situation r.e Suarez. Whilst both teams were filled with excellent players, Argentina could be accused of being over reliant on one player. That's great when the player performs but nobody can play at the top of the their game every match.

I always felt that Germany were the most likely to win because they were more of a team. Their work ethic was more evident, a case in point being Klose.

Whilst losing Suarez is a blow, I trust Brendan to use the funds to improve the overall depth and quality of the squad.

If you look at what he's trying to do, he's trying generate goals from more area's of the pitch, which has similarities to the wider threat posed by Germany. Most of Argentina's play centred around trying to involve Messi. Without Suarez, our attacking threat this season will be more widely shared and multi-faceted, which should have the rest of the league panicking. They won't know where to look. Sturridge, Lambert, Sterling, Lallana, Markovic. doesn't sound too bad, does it?

Obviously we'll need to buy a new striker, Sturridge and Lambert will need support, I personally would be happy with Bony or Lukaku. They are regular scorers in the EPL and are young enough to have time to improve. I'm sure our scouts have done their homework. Given where we were a few years ago, and how things have improved under the current owners, I'm optimistic that we are very much on an upward curve.

I can't wait to see who BR adds to the defence.

Can't wait for the season start

Anybody else getting sick of Luis and his whining? Having listened to his collective comments, seems he's blaming everybody else except himself for recent press coverage. He has received so much negative attention from the press because of his behaviour. end of. I'm at the point where I think it's time that he goes, nobody is bigger than the club. I'm sick of the negative press he attracts, that overshadows the good progress BR is making. Flog him for as much as possible and reinvest the proceedings in the team. Recent history suggests that these players that think they can go off for better things are invariably wrong, I refer you to messrs Owen, McManamen and Torres, their careers really blossomed when they left, didn't they?
