Hey Ed01. Just donated mate and hope you get it sorted. Go on this site multiple times a day. I am now an addict! Thanks for all that you and the fellow Eds do for us all.

Nigel

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much mate.}

Hi Eds 001/002,
It seems a number of teams are bringing a few youngsters through from their respective academies. Chelsea had one that looked good playing against us at the weekend and we had a few on the pitch as well, as an example.
I would like your view on how well our academy is being run and if our model is very similar to those of other EPL or other top European clubs.
Thanks in advance
Nigel

{Ed002's Note - Right now it is too early to tell Nigel as it was revamped at the beginning of the season. Liverpool do however have a number of well respected young players - I guess a good measure is how they have done in the Youth Cups and Leagues - you would need to check them out.}

Thanks Ed002, I did a bit more research and I think the future could be quite promising. Always a little difficult to know how many will make it and at what level, but it will be interesting.
It would be good to see more of the the academy matches, so that all fans of all teams can see who to look out for in the future.

A question for Ed002 if I may. If I remember correctly, You replied to a question yesterday saying a Sakho/Lovren partnership was unlikely (I may be paraphrasing). From the signings we have made and the players that have left (loan or sale), it appears that the club really don't know what our best pairing should be. Clearly, it takes time to form a tight partnership and they must be trying different things in training, but the thought process seems a bit muddled. In your opinion, what would be the best pair at this time?
Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - My comment was made based on the club having two natural right sided central defenders in Skrtel and Toure and two naturally left sided central defenders in Lovren and Sakho.

The most likely pairing to me seems Skrtel and Lovren. If that works then I would think that will be what Brendan Rodgers uses as his preferred choice.

Agger and Coates are effectively noise and the club would I am sure be happy to let them go. An issue with Agger might be the price asked and his fitness, but he has been keen to talk to the press to help ease an exit. Coates will likely have to go on loan.}

Hi Ed001&002,

A quick question or two for you, if I may. It seems everyday we are linked with another player. Just now the Express apparently, have linked us with the Mexican goalie! With your knowledge you must have excellent contacts with players, ex-players, agents etc. I am guessing, but you must also know some of these journo's. My questions are as follows:
1/ do they visit this site regularly for info.
2/ are they hounded by their editors for stories even though they know it is not true? Do they think if they throw enough names at it they will be right eventually? This really affects their credibility, to the point that I don't read their "inside knowledge" anymore. I am now constantly telling my mates to go to this site to get the latest info and not to read too much into the paper talk.

I am intrigued as to how you get your info, but at the same time I don't want to know. Thanks for all your efforts at this most difficult time. I recommend a good single malt at the end of the day!
Thanks
Nigel

Nigel

{Ed002's Note - Journalists will have a scan of various sites or have interns do it for them. Editors will not chase for stories that are not true - it really doesn't work that way.}
