So we don't sell Suarez to Arsenal as that would be strengthening "a close rival for top 4 spot". Understandable. However we then, according to Macca, walk away from Willian who wants to join us but costs a few extra million than we wanted to pay, leaving him with the only other viable option to join "a close rival for a top 4 spot" in Spurs. If we spot a player that can add to the team then surely he is worth the extra few million once you start playing silly money. Remember we wouldn't pay the extra few million for Ronaldo all those years ago.
Ed's, we've been linked to a fair few players this summer and anything high profile seems to have gone tits up. Would you suggest we'll just wait till January to strengthen rather than going for our 99th choice target?
