As a Celtic fan I really hope Liverpool can go on and win the Premel League, I think Steven Gerrard is the one true world class player England has had over the last 10 years(the term is used far too easily) and it would be a travesty if he didn't win one!
The point of the post however is do you guys believe lack of English/British players in the EPL is procuding a level of mediocrity in the league? What I mean is I think your Chelseas, Arsenal, Man City etc have dropped into the chasing pack, and as for Manchester United last year, well everyone appeared hell bent on handing it to Fergie for a going away present!I remember having this same conversation about the SPL a few years ago when we were swamped with overpaid and frankly average players and no young Scottish players were getting a chance! Obviously we all know the gap between the two leagues, but I believe there is a similar problem in England which is now coming to a head! I just don't see the passion and commitment in a lot of the games over the last couple of seasons!
Obviously Liverpool fans don't care if it isn't the strongest league this year and rightly so! You can only beat what is in front of you and you have done the business!
Anyway, best of luck against Chelsea at the weekend, and who knows maybe a cheeky Champions League tie next season!
