Why do people automatically expect loyalty from someone who is basically a self employed contractor who comes from the other side of the world? Do you think that Liverpool were worried about Suarez being loyal to Ajax when they came knocking. Why is it any different when Arsenal/Real come knocking now?
Anyone with half a brain realised when he signed the contract last year that it was a desperate attempt to keep him one more year. The contract says as much. Liverpool's lawyers were just smart enough to outwit his lawyers or agent, who by the way if he does not fire them he is a bigger person than I expected.
"Oh no we won't say you can leave for 40m, we will say they can talk to you. Don't worry, basically it means the same thing Luis". What a load of crap. If you are going to agree to put a release clause in someone's contract do it like a man and don't be a pussy about it.
Don't get me wrong Suarez was wrong to go to the press and it was a crap thing to do, but what do you expect from someone who racially insults people and bites other players, multiple times.
The most depressing thing about this is that now everyone knows how Liverpool under Rodgers/Ayre do business with contracts. Do you think they will get away with that again? Either every decent players contract will have a bullet proof release clause or we will never sign another player worth having a release clause.
Oh sorry I forgot all these world class players will sign just because they want to be loyal to the club and ask for pound a week wages!
