Do we need a striker? We have Sturridge, Borini and Lambert who can play as centre forwards with Sterling, Coutinho and Suso (if he stays) who can play as a 'number 10' and with lots of promising kids coming through. I think a left back would complete our squad. Rather than wasting money on a forward who will only play a few games here and there, I'd rather see one of the youngsters given the chance to step up

Got to say, if we can bring them through right and get them enough experience, the future looks really bright for us in an attacking sense, with Suso, Ibe, Sterling, Peterson and old man Coutinho. I know it's only pre season but Ibe and Suso have been impressive. Hopefully Ibe will get a loan and Suso can be integrated into the first team. We have a great crop of young players coming through, let's hope Brendan has the managerial chops to bring them through

Hi Eds and fellow Reds. I've been reading this site for years and posted occasionally before you needed to log in. I can't understand some of the negativity on here after yesterday's game. Yes some players made mistakes but surely nerves can excuse them? None of our players have been in this position before and and are bound to feel anxious. I think they've handled it amazingly well considering the age and inexperience of some our players. You only need to look at the meltdown that Chelsea had and City's performance against Sunderland to see how nerves can affect even experienced players. So how about a little positivity? We're top of the league!
