I just want to state something to all posters and the eds

I think the football world is a very sad place when Rodgers position is being questioned

I think that because we grossly overachieved last year we have got high expectations of this season. First of all, let me say that we have been without the very of the side in the sas for the season so far and this has made our playing style completely different. Our defence has not settled yet and we haven't got the goals yet to help us out.

Going on the signings, only really lovrrn Moreno lallana
And balotelli I would consider first team and, even then, they need a year to settle.

Last season, by Christmas we were fifth having drawn 4 times and lost 5 times. Looking at the fixtures coming up, we won't be far from the same point this Christmas.

Our second half performance last season got us to were we were and it just clicked into place. I think it's grossly unfair to criticise him, he had to strengthen. When you are faced with having to buy 6-7 players then even the best managers in the world won't get all of them to work straight away, it's impossible

But Rodgers couldn't do anything else, we needed a left back right back centre back centre midfield attacking midfield striker winger etc. So there wasn't anything else he couldn't of done

The only thing I would say is the signings have been made with a view of re sale. The players we have bought could easily be re sold at profit or break even providing they aren't a disaster.

If we had qualified for cl last year by a scrape then we wouldn't be having these conversations and just lamenting the fact suarez had gone and Sturridge was out injured

I think that we will be a completely different side once Sturbridge is back, I will then assess Balotelli once he plays with him and if it doesn't work then we need to it a striker which fits our high intensity model which by the way does not work with one up top.

But who else was out there to buy at the time? I couldn't think of anyone. And even if Balotelli does get sold then we aren't losing out on him . It was a gamble which may not pay off and I think it's entirely unfair to criticise Rodgers for it. Especially when he has made some excellent signings and had us playing exceptional football which only works if we have the right players.

Granted he might need to change things around. But with lambert borini and Balotelli we haven't really got anything ping forward, balotelli doesn't have enough of the ball, borini can't score and lambert has known back problems and I seen as an impact player.

Let's give the team a fair assessment once Sturridge is back playing up top with Balotelli then I think we can look at it in more detail. I think in January if it doesn't work out I can see Balotelli and borini going and then maybe someone coming in but then who is out there tht will come mid season

The only player I think would be suitable at the time would br higuain but I would like to ask the eds the possibility of this happening?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to act responsibly financially going forward or get used to not playing in Europe. Selling Sterling would raise the money for Higuain, or at least much of it.}
