Hi fellow reds and eds!

Here is what I am thinking.

Fulham 1-4 liverpool
Man city 1-2 tottenham
Liverpool 3-1 tottenham
Man city 1-1 stoke
Villa 0-2 liverpool
Bolton 1-1 man city
Tottenham 3-0 birmingham

Liverpool will finish 4th courtesy of goal difference with man city 5th and tottenham 6th. Take note of this!

Ohh how i hope it pans out this way. you never know i guess. But we are the form team of the 3 mentioned.

Look ppl be realistic, every season, this happens, we're getting this & that, although we have King K (Hopefully will sign a contract sooner rather than later) & new owners. Just wait & see. But what I would say is, we hope we won't sell the players that are in the first XI on a regular basis. Spine of the team is carra, gerrard, reina, n now possibly kuyt. But just wait n see ppl, if you love the manager n LFC that much, you will understand. Thank you all! YNWA

At the end of the day we can only support who the people in charge bring in. Nothing we can do about it at all. We have our wish list but that's all they are.

{Ed002's Note - I think you are a little too hopeful.}

Too hopeful? In what. That players like Payet, Wolfwinckel, Enrique, Mata, Sissoko are to unreliastic? Or that its hopeful and unrealistic that 9-10 players would get shipped out in 1 window?

{Ed002's Note - You are too hopeful of both Mata and Payet for a start and that 13 players will leave.}

08 May 2011 22:03:01
Hey Ed how have you been?, do you know how many teams get relegated in the German League? Just because Wolfsburg are 15 out of 18. Do you think Kjaer & Diego could be player that could help Liverpool? {Ed001's Note - don't the team third from bottom have to play off against the team third from top of the second tier to decide relegation/promotion? I believe that is how it is done in Germany. As for Kjaer, I don't believe he is good enough and Diego I don't think is the right type of player for us. He would be yet another player who plays in a similar position to Gerrard and Meireles and Cole and Suso and Pacheco.}

08 May 2011 22:25:05
Ed, do you have a fav liverpool player? Who? Why? {Ed003's Note -Errm,I think Suarez is good,Oh, Reina aswell,just think there good players mate}

ED003 Not the best at English. .

Liverpool will not be making big signings , no navas and why the hell would kenny think of buying aguero we have kuyt, carroll, suarez , ngog , pacheo. liverpool will prob only sign a lb and maybe a lm , if chairmen gives kenny money (which i doubt) liverpool will try sign a.young because he wants out of aston villa cuz he wants to be in europe (champions league or europa)
People are saying man city but they don't need him.

If you think that we are only going to sign 2 players then you can't be more wrong.

Its common knowledge that the whole squad needs revamping, and Comolli and FSG have promised a big summer, so why do these idiots keep coming out with the "Liverpool won't sign anyone good, only Adam and Jarvis" bollocks?

i heard frown a very good source that liverpool are in talks with a player from madrid i hope it iz a striker

How 'bout concentrating on the needed spots in the first team? If we are in talk with a player in madrid, I hope it's Xabi coming back!

Just heard from very good source Liverpool are trusting their youth and putting all money into buying messi from barca. Barca are broke and need the money. Messi could win the prem single handed :-)

Nahh, Stoke would beat Barcelona.

Hmmm. . let me think. Messi, the best player in the world, playing for the best club in the world in one of the best cities in the world . . swapping it all for Europa cup football. Ha!

Several times today manc fans I know have said to me "now you've got to admit we are the best" to which I have pointed out two things:

1) by their own admission by making that statement they are saying that until now WE have been the best
and

2) despite having one more title than us they are still several European trophies behind
therefore we are STILL the best!
well done united on your massive achievement of getting a bit closer to our success

What are the chances of buying Sergio Aguero this summer? Does anyone no or have any source which is useful?

Cona.

I would say about 1 out of 10. Fantastic Player no doubt but here's why I think we won't get him:

-He will cost at least £35-40M
-Wages will be circa £200k pw which will cost around £40m on a four year contract
-May well end up at Chelsea or Man City

Just too expensive. I know that Andy Carroll cost £35m but if we hadn't needed a replacement for Torres urgently and Chelsea paying 50m for him, Carroll would have been much cheaper.

Don't forget Rafa's most important signing mate, Kenny Dalglish.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Your point being ?
KB

Funny how you have added every single academy lad who cost NOTHING to sign.

Rafa did make mistakes (Keane, Babel, Morientes etc.), but look at other WORLD CLASS manager and see their mistakes;
Ferguson: Anderson, Veron, Bebe, Forlan
Mourinho: Maniche, Kezman, Tiago, Shevchenko, Muntari(Inter)

Now lets see some of the amazing deals Rafa has done in the transfer market;
Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Benayoun, Agger, Reina. Most of these are/were world class or close to it, and were signed for relatively low money, with Xabi and Torres being sold for MUCH more than they were bought.

What's this on COS linking us with Jesus Navas? Brilliant player, but I fear this is just a recycled story.

Does he still have the chronic homesickness? If not, how realistic a target would he be?

Eds? {Ed001's Note - we have asked about his rehabilitation from it a few times, I would think that is about as obvious a sign we are interested as you can get! I have no idea whether he will be seen as worth the risk or not though, just that we are keeping an eye on him.}

sounds encouraging. he went to the world cup, so he can't be doing that bad.

Ok, so Torres has won nothing after his switch to the russian team, does anyone know if Michael Owen gets any medals if Man pUke pull off the double, how many games does he have to play?? {Ed003's Note - I think he has played enough}

Owen has already said (r5) that his medal (he will get one) is hardly deserving due to his limited contribution. So I wouldn't worry about him trying to 'stick it to us' over that.

A day to reflect for LFC fans.
U have to give credit to Utd for looking to play positive football. Going out to win.
I believe this stems from the manager's mindset. And u can't knock that.
This always was the Liverpool way. But it became lost over time. But in Kenny I am certain that we will get back to that style. Playing football to make the people happy.
Cheers

Johnson wants playing time and with the lack of competition at Anfield I can safely say he is interested in joining the club.
= = = = = = = =
Lack of competition? Yeah right. . he is going to replace Suarez? Or Kuyt (12 league goals and 7 assists never mind his awesome value in getting back the ball and defending).

If he comes he will be on the bench as much if not more than when he starts.

Good evening everyone :)

Ins:
-S.Marveaux £Free
-M.Sissoko £13million
-D.Payet £7million
-I.Munian £9million
-M.Skaho £15million
-J.McCarthy £7million
-Cissokho £14million
Total = £65million

Outs:
-S.Kyrgiakos £Free
-J.Cole £3million
-M.Rodriguez £Free
-D.N'Gog £4million
-C.Poulsen £2million
-E.Insua £1million
-P.Degen £Free
-N.El Zhar £1million
-M.Jovanovic £3million
-A.Aquilani £12million
-D.Agger £12million
Total = £38million

Spend of £27million

Are these realistic transfers capable of challenging for the title and then competing in the Champions league? Is their enough depth in this squad to mount a serious challenge? Would these players want to come to our club, without the lure of Champions league football? ED what do you think?

Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed001's Note - all apart from Cissokho are very realistic, he would probably cost a bit more, Lyon always charge top price.}

Munian for 9mil? hard to get

I don't know why everyone is talking about these big name, expensive strikers on their 'Ins' list's. We have two top strikers in Suarez and Carroll so why would players like Aguero and Benzema come to us and compete with them knowing that poor peformances culd turn them into bench warmers. We need a striker in the region of 10 - 15m, young, proven at a good level (not conor wickam) and who would provide good cover for those two aswell as another option in alternate formations. We should save the big money signing(s) for the wing (Mata, Hazard, Hulk etc) a position we are poor in.

E.H LFC

Jari Litmanen is what we need so, Young(in terms of the galaxy), Proven at a good level (he has prem experience), is so talented he would make messi look average :P

This is not a rumour, but exciting times ahead, I am convinced that Liverpool FC will go for a mix of young players with potential, solid experienced mid 20's players and world class this summer.

Of the rumours out there how does everyone else rate the chances in percentage terms? I can see several of the following potential signings actually happening. . .

Well i see all the mancs are showning a lack of class in victory. Us as lfc should show our class Roy Evans once said you have to earn the title, the mancs have i salute them. After all we held that record for so long it was getting heavy we'll let them hold it for a year.Because everyone knows KK has always had Fergie in his pocket. I guaranrtee it won't take us 20yrs to catch you

ed do you think its true ?

Can you please pay attention to the site and what has been said instead of you all repeating the same crap over and over, I am sick of seeing "Ed Rate the chances of this player coming". . .Seriously how would the Eds know? Im sure they have a little inside knowledge, but the club is doing everything from behind closed doors nowadays, unlike the H&G era.

So what you're trying to say is that Bolton are doing poor because Gary Cahill is playing for them?! You make no sense. He's a solid defender, a great tackler! He would even improve playing alongside Carra.

Stone YNWA.

Bolton didn't even play today, you tool.

Stone I completely agree with Cahill, though i'd have Agger next to him (if he doesn't get injured on the flight back from Japan), and whilst i think Glen deserves a place for his consistency and humility at playing left back, i'd like to see Martin Kelly build on this season at right back

Hey fellow reds, i hate mancs as much as anyone here but i have to say that valencia was outstanding today!
I never thought he would be that good when he left wigan first but he cleaned ashley cole today who i believe is one of the top left backs in the country!
Anyway i was on about andre santos earlier. . trust me people look him up, he is far better than enrique and plays for brazil and fenerbache, hes fast, has bags of tricks and has some left peg!

Fair play! Ye done it! But down through the years if a Liverpool fan said "we have 18 titles go away" the reply would be "how many premierships do ye have?"! It's great to hear not that them first division titles ye and we won actually mean something now. What a relief! !

All those people saying we must spend big on players to win the league or challenge. utds best player this season hernandez cost 6m not 25m vidic 6m hes not to bad is he.two players u probly never heard before they signed. so enough of ed when are we gonna sign sanchez hazard pastore neymar etc because i for one don't want them.we desperately need wingers 1st then sort lb as we arnt exactly shipping goals of late are we.we all know marveaux is practically done and hopefully if ed001 is correct we are close with sissoko.not sure how much for sissoko maybe ed you would know better.most other likely players are:
enrique
adam
young
downing
a.johnson
mata
p.jones
lukaku
aguero
jose angel
cissohko
payet
matuidi
dzsudzsak
benzema
gervinho
mccarthy
n'zogbia
there maybe more we don't know off.is that list a realistic target list ed?and how much for sissoko do you reckon?DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - I honestly have no idea at all of a price for Sissoko, I don't think any price has been agreed yet sorry. There a few I don't think we will get, Gervinho for instance has Champions League football where he is and so does not want to leave unless he can get it at the club he is going to. Benzema wants first team football guaranteed and Aguero would have to take a huge pay cut to join us. All of the others do seem likely options, though I think Lyon's valuation of players will end up ruling out any move for Cissokho.}

{Ed001's Note - the plan is to buy the players the club needs, this football manager gibberish of people assuming players are only good enough if they cost big money is not what the club believes in.}

Well it hasn't worked for us for 21 years in the league. While United are about to win number 19. Its not like you haven't said negative things about our potential top targets.

You obviously don't understand what 001 is trying to say, do you?

Manchester United, for example. We do not have an Superstar squad of 11, we have a TEAM of 20+ players. They all work together, and are better than Man City's superstars, as they are individuals, not team players.

Ed001 is saying, yous are not going togo out and sign: Sanchez, Hazard, Pastore, Benzema, Sneijder etc. Sure you may buy one or two, but most of your new players will be team players, who will make the TEAM play better.

Ashley Young, Charlie Adam, Sylvain Marveaux etc. are not the most gifted players of this century, but if Kenny feels they will make the TEAM better, then he will - most likely - try his best to get them.

Am I right, Ed? Or an I on a different page from you, ha .

MPez {Ed003's Note - I would say thats what Ed001 was saying and the archives pages are being looked at thanks for bringing it to our attention}

Club depth. This I believe is key for a champions league spot next season. Liverpool will need to kick out all the crap and start build it up. With many youngsters proving themselves we may only need to bring in a few squad players. For example marveux(spelling) will be a good back up winger and then we will need a 3rd striker which I belive should be someone who is young and will later become a fantastic player. We then can use Flanagan and Robinson as full back back ups. And then use spearing as a back up midfielder. As for signings I belive we need two wingers. One dimitri payet and the other A.Johnson/ mata we then will need a lb which I think should be twaio or cissoko but realistically it will probaly be equire. I finally a player maker which we have missed since Alonso parted us. Which could be C.Adam or Sissoko. Thanks Z

Aguero will only come to us if we finish 4th.

he wants CL football as well as Benzema and Young.

Young tho, over rated. much better out there.

ADAM JOHNSON is a cert.

Eds, who you prefer Young or Johnson????

The Whopper Dopper {Ed003's Note - Johnson for me,Young's petulance is very annoying even some of the Villa fans have had enough of his tantrums}

Fear not my fellow brothers and sisters alike.
I wrote this comparison when discussing the rivalry between us, the greatest team ever and Manchester United (Scum of the earth) and I thought I'd just share it with you all.
Manchester united are like the Moon, ugly but shines at night.
Liverpool are like the Sun, always shining.
Its been dark for the past couple of decades and the moons been putting up a front, bathing in the suns reflection but dawn is soon going to be upon us! Its going to be the beginning of twilight, before the sun rises in its own glory and leave the moon lightless, pitying itself and reminiscing the 20 years it had when they almost became the sun.
As I said, do not worry. The red revolution is gathering strength, we shall shine next season.

Dalglish believes that Danny Wilson and Ayala will be enough back up.

However, we MIGHT go for Phil jones. No one else though.

One thing for sure. A LEFT BACK is COMING.

First of all f**k Man Utd there time is numbered, this season is the catalyst to re-ignite our fire and drive our club back back to the pinnacle of the English game. A recipe for success is take it back to basics by appointing Kenny, rebuilding the boot room and drilling "pass & move" back in to the hearts of our players.
Scouse Pride

Also spending £70m on 4 world class players would be wise

A 40 year old keeper, a £6 million centre defender in Vidic, a left back they got in a buy one get one free deal, The great John O'Shea, A 37 year old pulling the strings in midfield, Michael Carrick who even the Utd fans slate, A south Korean who very rarely gets any sort of credit, A winger who previously played for WIGAN & a £6 million forward again no-one had heard of! Add to that Smalling, Evans, 90 year old Scholes, The other twin from the BOGOF deal, Anderson ( the son of Viv)! Hardly the team of superstars that the posters on here demand that they want for our team. Yet Man Utd have just won their 19th title ( more or less) & gave Chelsea a footballing lesson in the first half!

Years of buying the wrong players yet spending millions, a lack of motivation to get the job done against lesser teams, wrong managers & bad owners have got us where we are today. It's a sad day in a way, Man Utd are the most succesful team in domestic football! Maybe, just maybe this is the kick up the arse everyone needs to start fighting for that league title that we want so badly but don't tell me you require a team full of superstars to do it!

Well done Man Utd!

The Irish Rover

I beg to differ on the most successful part mate. They have won 36 major honours, and I'm counting FA, Carling, League, Europe. We have won 40. They're not quite there yet mate, but you do have to begrudgungly take your hat off. WE are still the most successful though.

This is **e***** you are spot on throwing millions at 3rd rate french players was the catalyst for us we say the frog was a good manager i don't buy that he could get it right in a one off game but over a season he was a failure end of the same with benitez failed were it mattered most in the prem, remember shanks saying first is first second is nothing that should be drilled into our players by kk we must be winners in every game a defeat won't be accepted

AM Charlie Adam £11mill

ST Sergio Aguero. . am hoping this will be the marquee signing

Maybe. Wayne Henassey, Matt Jarvis, Gary Cahill

Lennon won't be going to you! Wot will it take for you to get it into your thick heads? Yes hes probably gone in the summer which would be a good thing but it won't be to you, levy won't sanctionn cole, you would have to buy out his contract and as for johnson NO we have kyle walker coming back and will be the best english right back nxt term so no thank you

Yeah? I think Jamie Redknapp is a top guy. He loves Liverpool and makes no secret of it. Just one point, when Richard Keys was thriving his hairy little jacksy off when we were in the bottom 3 earlier this season, saying will we be relageted, there was 1 man who couldn't hide his disgust and jumped to our defence and that was the guy lad your calling a nob. I hear different rumours everyday about loads of different players. e.g. Lennon, Aguero, A Johnson, Young, Downing and marveaux. . People go on about "i know him" "i know this" and "i know that". . honestly, are we really going to get players like Aguero who would cost us £50m?

08 May 2011 18:54:27
I need to say I am really looking forward to next season. The reason being it is going to be more competitive than ever!

Man united - always going to challenging if we like it or not but in my opinion they won't be as good next year and will not do as good because of other teams

Chelsea - always going to be up there because of money, wouldn't put it past them buying half a new team.

Arsenal - won't be as strong next year in my opinion especially as they don't spend a lot of money and it looks like cesc is going to be at barca next season.

Man city - improved this season and will improve again buying outrageously priced players.

Tottenham - have done well this season in champions league and ok in the league bit I feel they are only 1 or 2 good players from being a really good side. Just need a good striker.

Liverpool - finally us I feel that we are going to be right up there as from when Kenny took over we are 2nd behind chelsea. I just think we need 3, 4 good players, 2 wingers a left back and a striker and we will have some team with Kenny and Steve and Sammy in charge!

Finally you are going to have other teams like everton, bolton, stoke, fulham e.t.c. getting regular results against big teams!

But I really think Liverpool will be challenging for 1st place!

Cheers C

Look how awesome Valencia looks in a good team. Wonder if all the Utd fans were carrying on like you lot when they were first linked with him.

For example, a player like Young, Downing, N'Zogbia, Jarvis or even Lee could come to LFC and be a huge success.

Perhaps a little narrow minded some people on here. Don't always have to buy galacticos imo.

ive just watched the united chelsea game and never heard so much bias in my life coming form the commentator all he banged on about was unted takink liverpools record of title wins and how fergie will be loving this even showed a flag with the slogans on it reminding us of what we said to them in 1994 like cum back when you have 18.but to keep going on about it all thru the match is ridiculous talk about 20years of sky sports and 20 years of fergie and united arse lickin

watching the united chelsea game and how bad are chelsea their not even trying i know the early goal was a blow but surely they must at least try for the travelling fans united don't like it when you get at them so come on chelsea make a real go of it in the 2nd half

Wow Chelski have fallen. Could easily have been 8-1 to Utd. Essien is nowhere near the player he was, Lampard lost it, Drogba lost it. Amazing their decline.

There will be good news announced for Liverpool's home game against Tottenham. Brace yourselves for good news folks. Trust me.

Moley.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

as i assume you are referring to the appointment of dalglish as manager?

this is being reported in most newspapers in england, and while it is perfectly acceptable to pass on information you have read/ heard, please do not embrace it as your own inside information, which seems to have been implied, in order to make a name for yourself on this site. Apologies if you do in fact know something we do not.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Actually, I am talking about KK's new contract. People don't believe the papers but it is known by many that Kenny has already put pen to paper on a new deal and that FSG are announcing it at the right time, which many believe is the home game against Tottenham.

Show me where I said I had inside info son, before spouting your big gob off and pre-judging. Jog on.

Chill 'Moley'. The lad above has a point; the fact you said "Trust me" suggests you know something we don't, when clearly we have all heard it somewhere.

Stone YNWA.

The fact that everybody already new this, yet you shrouded it in secrecy, and topped it off by 'trust ME', implies that you are revealing information that noone else knows about.

the fact that you were in fact talking about what i suggested shows you were only offering what everyone already knew

Lets hope this is true, the only man for the job and the news would hopefully be a massive inspiration for the players for a vital game

All this talk about aguero joining us is surely not true? he might be a liverpool fan but if we don't get champions league football the only attraction we have for him is a good friendship with maxi and he might be on his way out. . id hate to think it but chelsea must be in a stronger position with champions league football and fernando Torres up front as well.

Ed do you have any info on aguero's future? {Ed001's Note - lots of clubs are in for him, I don't think it is likely that we will get him in the slightest. But stranger things have happened!}

It is very important for players like Aguero to see Liverpool s ambitions and targets. If we can sign one world class player like Aguero it would then attract other class players. This will able them to see the positive future of the club and will want to be part of it. The next season and 2 transfer windows will be very important for the future of the club and show other teams that this season was just a blip.

08 May 2011 15:31:27
LFC should sign clichy, gets forward constantly and has a decent cross. £5million should do it. When Glen Johnson is fit again and back to his best there are few better (at least offensively) so play him at right back. This way you have 2 of the best attacking full backs in the prem and europe playing for our club IMO, Carroll would get service all day long. This then means potential signings like A.Johnson and A.Young who play on opposite side to their natural side can cut in as they have their full back steaming past them. . people have to think more tactically than just who is better than who and prices when it comes to transfers.
I would love to see Clichy, Young, Johnson and one or two others signed in the summer, would provide the width we've been missing for so long. Also note these players are all very realistic relatively well priced (especially Clichy at £5mill!)

Awesome site, love it, your thoughts ed? {Ed001's Note - Clichy is a terrible crosser of the ball, he can't defend either, would rather not waste money on him.}

Totally agree with Ed001. .watched the Arsenal-Bolton game and Clichy is not good enough. .would rather we play Robinson and let him grow

Hey ed was just wondering what u think of andre santos for left back. . i seen him playing for brazil a few times and always looked pretty good, i think he plays for fenerbache and yes i watched him on utube there, i know its nothing to judge a player on but he does seem to be a big lad with bags of tricks and a great left peg and looks a decent defender! !
ed what u think, surely he is better than enrique!
Ed ur opinion? {Ed001's Note - not seen much of him sorry.}

Torres on bench against Man Utd. Come on Chelsea- - deny them the 19th!

Wow. Torres must be wondering why he came to Chelski. Utd busy skinning them.

Liverpool will always have the chance to catch up with Man on titles but if Chelsea win the title will any thing be able to wipe the smirk off his face that he won the title with chelsea. its a hard decision on who to go for so i just don't care who wins the title im just looking forward to next season .

08 May 2011 16:00:35
If Fernando Torres owes Liverpool Football Club anything for the way he turned his back on us, he will come off the bench today and defend Liverpools record.
From Torres' sale we bought 2 quality strikers who have helped turn our season around, and he also has a chance that our current squad do not, the opportunity to stop United's assault on the title.

Come on Torres, we all know you still care! ha

Re:

The info i have is that Young is pretty much nailed on and there is also very strong interest in Downing.

Benzema was close to signing in January but Real changed there mind. I know we are interested in signing him.

Also Adam was nearly done in Jan and i still believe the club are very interested in him.

Enrique is also pretty much done but with all the above deals things can change very quickly.

One thing i am sure of is that it will be a very interesting (good) summer.

As soon as i have any new info i will post it.

Macca

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So basically we're siging a load of crap?.

Well if they sign they are our load fo crap and KK chose them, we will support them and he will get them winning.

Look what he did with our current load of crap! !

Don't get me wrong mate, i'll support whoever comes in. These players are crap though and will hardly strike fear into our opponents. If these come in then fine but it's my opinion that they are not good enough (currently). Anyone who watches them play will not their not upto scratch. I'm fed up of our team signing crap only to replace in a couple of years with more crap.

Wonder if the ManU fans all thought Valencia was crap when he was first linked from Wigan. Its not like we linked with Kochesky's and C. Cole's anymore. I agree Barton is crap though. A. Young could be a genius buy, he has so much talent if Kenny can get the best out of him.

I think young is only perceived as crap because of the team he is in at the moment. When he has a decent target man (caroll) and decent midfielders to supply quality balls to him, I think it will be a great move. If KK and Liverpool can't get the best from him then he may (Young that is) hang up his boots. I'd prefer him to Lennon anyday.

08 May 2011 15:00:45
According to the click liverpool site among others, Gervinho has said openly that he will not consider a move to a club that is not in the CL as he really wants to be involved in that competition- so I guess we can take him officially off all of the various wish lists.

It's kind of a shame that players aren't a bit more forward thinking though.
LFC will be in the CL the following year for sure, and we'll go a lot further than Lille will ever do.

Lille have a good team, perhaps they can go far. Yes, I'm a Liverpool fan but what I feel you have said is quite arrogant and offensive to any Lille fan.

Gervinho is not worth enough to pull on the red shirt anyway!

So he will join Arsenal who won't be in the CL the following year because City, Manu & Chelsea are not interested.

Well said mate. this moving for CL thing annoys me. Player signs a 5 year contract yet club he signs for only guaranteed being in CL the following year.

I hope not. He is s**te. Young and talented, but he could amount to anything more than a regular superliga striker.

I personally like Young and Enrique Adam. I must be the only one that likes Young.

Blair Mayne YNWA

I think you are lol. He has the talent but is just so sulky on the field. Blames everything on his teammates or on the ref. Also he's been poor for the last 2 years anyway.

Would rather have Downing.

Hmm. . .would prefer Young myself I feel under a good manager he will come good.

Young is fast. His speed makes him the player he is. He's scored a lot of BPL goals for someone who isn't an out & out striker. All he has to do is use his speed to get to the flanks and cross it in. As predictable as it is, it would be unplayable with Carroll waiting in the middle. Augero, Silva, Aquilani, Mata, Sanchez are all light weights. Pacquio is more skilful than Klitshco. But Klitshco is the heavyweight champion of the world because he's built for it.

08 May 2011 15:20:38
With the signing of Joey Barton being all but done, i think we should go after Lee Cattermole, as he would be a perfect central midfield partner. I can confirm we are also weighing up a bid striker Mario Balotelli to partner Andy Carroll up front, with Real Madrids Pepe also being looked at.

Lol great signings they would be, maybe see if we could get vinny jones, roy keane and ben thatcher

What a mug

Chris in Tamworth

It's called a joke, you must have left your sense of humour in Birmingham ya mug

Didnt understand the Pepe part. He is a good player.

Not remember when he had a 10 match ban for when he t**tted a Getafe player on the pitch?

08 May 2011 15:20:47
Why are people so set against Enrique? He's come on leaps and bounds this season. Has good pace and ability to come forward and is at the right age to continue his development at L.F.C.

Baines would be better but potentially cost a lot more and is a few years older. Realistically he won't be sold by Everton to us as they'll have offers from elsewhere, most probably Arsenal and Tottenham.

Foreign young options are suggested on here constanly but will probably not settle quickly in the league and may prove massive risks like Dossena, who had something like 16 assists in Italy before he joined an was awful for us.

I know there are alternatives but none who play week in week out in the premier league that are available at a pretty good price. Before any one does it please don't mention Clichy, he costs Arsenal a goal every other game.

Papa G

We don't see the leaps and bounds mate. Just mediocrity.

08 May 2011 14:48:53
Rumour has it season ticket prices are going up by average £90 with no euro football sorted yet bit steep me thinks.

Spurs fans better be worried then.

08 May 2011 14:54:26
Can someone please tell me what Aaron Lennon allegedly said about Liverpool FC and the people of Liverpool? I have always seen reference made to his disparaging comments when people talk about a possible move to the club but have never been able to find any quotes. I hope any rumours linking us with him are false, he has blinding speed but no consistency in his final ball.

Frankie 5 Angels!

True he is very fast but has not a very good cross which is what we need so we can get carroll scoring a few more and suarez maybe performing a few Volleys

His ball to VDV was perfect yesterday shame VDV had a bad touch otherwise he was in. I think the problem with Lennon is he lacks motivation, a change of club would probably be best for him but I don't see him as a Liverpool player, perhaps Man City will bid for him.

08 May 2011 14:47:08
The three postions that i belive are the most important for the summer have to left back and the two wingers and that if we buy to many players then they take more time to gel as a team a bit like man city the last few seasons and now they are finally starting to gel as a team.
The players that do come in must know what liverpool means to the fans as i don't want someone that isn't willing to put a shift in if the going gets tought. I don't want the management to take to much of a risk by buying players that are know and have produced on a major occassion and know the leauge inside out

I would like someone that is willing to work there socks off and wear there heart on the sleve and that has that bit of magic to produce some thing out of nothing. A player like Steven and Jamie or john Terry for Chelsea. I believe a reason why the youth have also done so why as they take pride in wearing the liverpool shirt and they are enjoying every moment of it.

I completely agree, i think our main targets for these positions should be british or irish, or know the premier league

I would agree with premier league experience statement. I were going to challenge we need the team and new players to hit the ground running. It occassionly happens from abroad when the player is right like Suarez, but more often than not takes 6 months. Players who know the league with the right quality will surely help us progress back too the top 4

I cannot reveal who but I have a very good source at Atletico Madrid who have told me that Aguero is 95 percent sure of leaving this Summer, he said that his prefered destination is England and Liverpool, but we will have to wait and see what happens.
Believe me or not I know the truth.
****************************
As much as I love Aguero, I see him as too similar to Suarez and a front 3 of Suarez, Carrol & Aguero would't work.

That said, I would love Aguero and would then bench Carroll.

Personally, I don't think signing Young, Downing and Enrique should be classed as a good summer. There are much better players out there!

Adam

I personally like Young and Enrique Adam. I must be the only one that likes Young.

Blair Mayne YNWA

I like Ashley Young too! I don't understand the grief he gets on here, the only reason I see why people might not want him is 'cause he cuts inside too much or his delivery isn't good enough. But play him on the right and it would encourage him to hug the touchline, plus his final ball is good IMO even though you don't need a perfect delivery when you have Andy Carroll in the box ready to attack anything that's put in.

Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - I think his major problem is nothing to do with his ability, it is his attitude. His work rate is abysmal and he goes missing when things get rough. He makes Meireles look tough tackling.}

I am also a fan of Young Blair - I think he would be a great addition to the squad and he is a very diverse player so he can play a variety of positions when we play a different formation or for covering injuries etc

Red Chris

{Ed001's Note - I think his major problem is nothing to do with his ability, it is his attitude. His work rate is abysmal and he goes missing when things get rough. He makes Meireles look tough tackling.}

That's the first time I've heard anything about his attitude. But if anyone can sort it out - it's the King. Just look at Maxi.

Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - surely it is obvious that he spends the entire match throwing his hands up in the air blaming someone else after he has given the ball away?}

{Ed001's Note - surely it is obvious that he spends the entire match throwing his hands up in the air blaming someone else after he has given the ball away?}

No it isn't obvious. However I must admit I haven't seen a lot of Villa this season. I remember watching him when he was at Watford & then his first couple of seasons at Villa - his attitude seemed brilliant! Maybe he's frustrated with the way Villa's season has gone?

I personally believe Ashley Young would flourish playing in our team under King Kenny.

Stone YNWA {Ed001's Note - maybe he would, impossible to say until it happens really, but I would prefer to see a frustrated player who turns that frustration into effort than whining.}

I just think there are better players out there that we could/should sign instead. Same with Downing.

08 May 2011 14:00:15
Macca, why did Real change their mind? And would Benzema even want to join us, especially cause of all this talk about first team assurances?

They changed their minds because they had injuries to their main striker so they decided to keep Benzema.

I expect him to leave in the summer. {Ed001's Note - just like to point out this is not Macca replying.}

08 May 2011 14:21:39
Cheers Macca- I know there will so many people like me who look forward to your posts knowing that at least there is one source they can trust, at least to know what the club's intentions are, even if they don't always work out, as in the case of Benzema.

I must admit that unless KK can do something to get more consistency out of Young, he could turn out to be a better version of Ryan Babel.
But KK knows what he is doing, so fingers crossed the Young works out well.

We seem to be targeting players who are very good quality, but not world-beaters, and that is sort of a shame in a way, because we could do with one or two more with that extra bit of consistency, and some touches of magic in their locker- the likes of Alonso or Gerrard.

So a starting 11 for next season might be:

Reina, Johnson, Kelly/ Carra, Agger(?), Enrique, Downing, Gerrard/ Meireles, Young, Kuyt, Carroll/ Benzema, Suarez

And for once there will good quality on the bench too, with almost a 'second team' for the early stages of the Europa, if we get in that.

Ed just want you to know you're my favourite. Macca fair play to you but you have more impersonators than Cher and Tina Turner at a drag club, and that's a compliment as I think you've been pretty good with your info in the past and you will come again with some factual stuff before the window opens. I see a nice summer ahead of us. I ask KK and DC for 2 things. Speed and Width. I think we have the technical players already here but are screaming out for someone to deliver the ball from wide positions to Carroll to score or lay off for Saurez or Kuyt. Ive watched 6 or 7 Scum games recently(rooting against them getting to 19) and they play alot of long ball stuff over the top or out wide for Valencia and Hernandaz and use their speed and versatility to get the ball whippped into the box to create chances.
So RW and LW, and a creative CM. I don't think we need a LB as we have Glen and Robinson there and I believe KK will keep Aurelio for 1 more year as he is versatile when healty. We will only go for a CB if we can sell Aggerfor 12M+, and Sahko is 1st choice.

Chi-Paul {Ed001's Note - I am blushing now! Unless you meant Ed002 or 3 or 4 or 5?}

I was at the villa / wigan game yesterday (only £20 for the ticket and i had nothing better to do) and i kept an eye on young and downing.
both of them didn't really do much to convince me that they are liverpool standard, of the two downing was the one trying to get down the outside of the full back while young kept cutting inside.
young then played a more central position in the 2nd half which apparantly he prefers but he was not much good there either. Downing still got the man of the match but that's not saying much as the whole game was pretty dire.
I hope we don't try and sign either of these players tbh as neither have really impressed me and seeing them yesterday confirmed that.
Also the villa fans have "stole" our ring of fire chant and added some words which sounded like heskey or avfc. the cheeky beggars! and they didn't start singing till the 83rd min.

the crowman

Crowman,
How did N'zogbia look as he is for sure on KK radar?????

To be honest apart from the goal (which i was missed-typically) he was pretty much anonymous. he had this one run at the end of the 1st half where he got past 2 defenders got into the box and hit this pathetically weak shot about a mile wide. wigan in truth were awfull so were villa. good job i was a bit drunk really.
Im sure n'zogbia on his day is very good. .just not yesterday.

Fsg are in the final stages of formalising their exit plan, interest is stemming from the usual suspects, and reported value is around £500 million. . here we go again

Why Would they want to Sell they aren't that type of company

I doubt Samba is coming anyway but people have talked about him after yesterdays game.
But. .
Does anybody else prefer Jonas Olsson
Believable - Samba
Unbelievable - Olsson

They both carp.

08 May 2011 13:28:30
Why on Earth do people want to bring in dross like Stuart Downing who will cost about 10 times his worth when we have Joe Cole and Dani Pacheco sitting on the bench waiting for their chance.
Just a thought, cheers, downing hater ;)

Cause Downing is a better winger than Cole & Pacheco combined

And pigs can fly. .

You never been on a plane?

I would rather players who desired to play for us rather than for money etc as he chose man city instead of us because of money shows he is not worthy of the red shirt

**********************
Lets be honest mate, when Johnson went to City, LFC weren't looking a club you wanted to go to. Besides, we know what our former manager Rafa thought about wingers. .

A. Johnson would be my number 1 signing together with a quality LB (Izaguirre would be my choice or Baines).

I'm sure I'd seen somewhere that Johnson wanted to come to us but we didn't go in for him. Probably because we had no cash.

LAVERS

I wouldn't take Izaguirre as LB. I'd rather have Enrique or Baines because Izaguirre dosn't play at a high level. And from what i've seen of him he has not impressed me at all, even in the SPL.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Players have to start somewhere mate. Izaguirre has been brilliant this season - Celtic's player of the year isn't he?

Fensh

I agree mate but Izaguirre has not impressed me at all. Were as Baines & Enrique have been 2 of the best LB's in the PL this season. So imo Baines & Enrique already have PL experience and wouldn't need to settle into life in the PL, which is a bonus.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - which PL have you been watching? Enrique has been average (being kind) and Baines has only looked good when there has been no winger to face. He got torn apart the moment he actually had someone attacking him.}

There's still not many i can think of that has been better than these 2 Ed. Can you think of anyone mate? I'm stuck. But i'd defo have them before Izaguirre, i'd love Allay Cissokho but don't think that's who we are looking at?

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - well Glenn Johnson and Robinson spring to mind immediately as much better players.}

Its a joke if we sign enrique. . leave johnson there!

We are still trying to buy a new one Ed and i just don't know who else is out there, except Enrique or Baines (in the PL). That's why i don't think we'll go for the likes of Cissokho, Coentreo etc they'll cost big money and LB dosn't seem to be as much a prority now. Because of the way Glen's played and the emergance of Robinson and we've still got Mavinga. Also Kelly played very well when he was asked to play there. Maybe we don't need one eh?

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - I personally think that is why Coentrao was looked at, because he can play on the wing and provide cover there if necessary.}

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - I personally think that is why Coentrao was looked at, because he can play on the wing and provide cover there if necessary.}

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed005's Note - I believe so.}

Macca . . don't speculate things with your imaginations, . .

Thanks for the advice.

Macca {Ed001's Note - now this is the real Macca!}

To whoever is having a go at Macca: This is LFC mate, we stick together and we value his input, now s#d off.

Surely we can't be having a go at Macca, he is a legend who provides us with great info. .

Dave

I'm gonna have a go at clearing things up here. Right. Are you the 'Macca' who comes from Birkenhead, worked his way up through Mr. Cahills club, lives around Ormskirk and cut me up in your black Rangey, is nicknamed after a only fools and horses character and screamed one hundred and eighty at Jimmi White? ha . I'm probably miles away, but it's either you or Terry the tash mc.

DaveyBootle. {Ed001's Note - it is none of them!}

Yeah but i really can't see the a.johnson thing coming true

He did not say Adam Johnson was signing, it was an imposter.

08 May 2011 13:10:21
Ideal transfer window imo.

In's
LB: Izaguirre or Baines
CD: P. Jones
CM: Sissoko
RM: Payet
LM: A. Johnson (if we can't get him then Dzsudzsak)
AM: Marveaux

All realistic and we would have a helluva team. Kuyt to cover CF, so none needed. Don't see a big name coming in if not assured of a starting place. Carroll won't be benched.

Any takers?
Fensh

How likely is this scenario iyo Ed's? And would you be happy? {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't want Baines, he is weak and easily pushed off the ball, Valencia ripped him to shreds. Other than that I would be happy and it is realistic too.}

To be fair ed, valencias causing ashley cole all sorts of problems. {Ed001's Note - yes I know, but he is not bullying him the way he did Baines and walking all over him like he isn't there either. At least Cole is giving him a game, Baines was either caught up field or falling over when they went shoulder to shoulder. Baines is good going forward but no good defending.}

08 May 2011 12:43:57
Enrique, like all the left-backs Liverpool have coveted (and that includes Gareth Bale), can play as a wing-back in a 5-3-2 and supply crosses. Average crosses, in my opinion, but he's played with Carroll for long enough already.
Young is able to play in the hole as well as on the wing.
Marveaux is versatile enough to play anywhere on either side but his versatility doesn't account for his lack of quality.
Sissoko signing will upset me.
Bojan and Adam Johnson will be fantastic signings.
Dann should come, cheaper than Jones. Either would be good.

Merseyswimmer
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Have you ever watched Marveaux play? He is a good player, coveted by Manchester United and Chelsea in the past. Why would Sissoko signing upset you either, must admit I've not seen much but he's on the fringes of the France first team at 21 which is incredible and Ed002 rates him highly, which is almost as important as Kenny. .

I'm not doubting your information but you need to be more positive. What you've listed would be a pretty fantastic window.

Isaac

Merseyswimmer should keep swimming far away imo. What a noob. I would love all those players except Enrique. For LB I would prefer Izaguirre or Baines.

Pity you will never see both Aurelio & Agger for more than 2 consecutive games. I think time has run out for both and they should leave. We have been more than patient and Comolli's recent comments about signing non injury prone players shows he agrees.

08 May 2011 12:30:30
Rafa benitez should be given a roll within the club, the mans mind was in bits because of hicks and his boys. everthink he done was for the club. the club the city and most of all the people have a place within his heart like no other place , club , give the man a job

bel = job for raffa
unbel = no job

As long as its not the managers job!

Ya give him comolli position, ha

Would prefer him to get a waiter job in the Bootroom restaurant in all honesty.

Rafa loves the club and I agree that he should be given a job but Kenny WILL be our manager and I would have Kenny anyday of the week but I doubt Rafa would accept anything less than manager as the man has alot ambition - Mc

I do like Rafa but I think we need to move on, what job would you have him do? For me he is a good manager and would be wasted in the background I don't think it would be healthy for him or the club at this time.

I too like rafa, but I disliked the way he tried to force his control on many areas of the club. In my opinion, Steve Heighway was doing a cracking job. I don't know why he left, but I suspect he was forced out. My mate trained with Liverpool school of Excellence for five years under Stevie, and he was the first fella to come over and put an arm around the lads (just read Stevies book). Rafa Benitez back at Liverpool would have the same affect on Kenny as what bill did with Bob. There's no doubting that the two love/loved the club, but the clubmoves forward.

Would prefer him to get a waiter job in the Bootroom restaurant in all honesty.

Anyone who refers to Rafa as a "waiter" is either a Toffee Nose or a Manc. I'd be very supprised if you were an LFC fan.

Ps. Posted this in wrong section earlier. {Ed001's Note - you have been doing that a lot Blair! I thought there was a problem at first, but after having it checked over and over we realised you must be pressing the wrong reply button. It could only be you really couldn't it mate?}

Give him sami lee's job. or a scouting job in spain.! ! let him try to get us mata, muniain, aguero etcc. . because he is good at making players want to play for us by personally speaking to the players and their agents.

So many different topics and buttons now Ed my head's all over the place. I love the new buttons, i've so much knowledge/BS to share. Just need to get used to the new format. Don't worry mate i'll have it sorted within a year or two.

Not everybody liked Rafa Blair. They supported him but didn't like a lot of things he did. Not gonna get into it now, but it was said tongue in cheek.

Hope u suprised.

Ive got a lot of respect for rafa and everything he did for the club, but its time to look forward, anyway he's gonna be the next villa manager

Thought it was a Manc or Toffee Nose having a pop mate, still supprised though.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Fair play to Rafa he did a lot for us, but a lot of players find his cold managment style difficult. At the moment we've got Dalglish who has a gift for man-managment, who has raised moral and confidence - Benitez coming back would be a dark cloud over the place.

Not overly if there was a two manager system it could work with Dalglish offensive tactics and Rafas defensive tactics. Plus, Rafa isn't that bad in the transfer market. Yes some bad players but what were they like 3rd choice due to our budget?

08 May 2011 11:49:45
Macca . . don't speculate things with your imaginations, Benzema won't sign for us no way splashing another 15/ 20m on a striker. Downing has been looked but he is little bit old so out of the picture, Young is the main winger target and LFC will go down to wire to get him.
Adam Johnson is an option though if his price is not more than 14-16m.
- - - the unknown- - - - - - {Ed005's Note - Worth noting that the fake Macca claimed Benzema was a done deal.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The real Macca said a couple of months ago that Adam, Young and Benzema were done deals. Now whatever happened to that. . and we shouldnt say fake Macca as other people are called Macca too, so whos to say he's pretending to be Macca, maybe he's genuine?

Can the real Macca not come out and clarify his info. Please lad. To be verified by Ed's too please.

08 May 2011 11:52:49
Ed , Was it the real macca or a fake macca who said he is certain of getting A.Johnson ? {Ed001's Note - I don't know what the real Macca said about it, but it the fake Macca said it was a certainty.}

I knew it was too good to be true. I'll keep holding thumbs though! He would be awesome on the left (not right people! ).

08 May 2011 11:59:41
Pacheco should be put back on loan to Norwich for next season as I feel he should be getting Premier League experience rather than warming the bench, and you never know he could turn into a decent player just like Sturridge has proven this season on loan to Bolton.

Also, Wickham could sign for us this summer and go back to Ipswich on loan, Wickham's preference is Liverpool as he supported them as a kid (Not that it means to much).

El Pistolero

I think Pacheco will be sold to a Spanish club this summer.

Wickhams choice sadly is spurs along with caolan lavery the young canadian born irish u21 int

I have seen Wickham a few times and not that impressed. Anyway if true, his loss as Spurs are heading back to mid-table next year.

Would prefer him to get a waiter job in the Bootroom restaurant in all honesty.

Well then be suprised mate. I never liked Rafa or Houllier tbh. They changed the identity/style of the club too much imo. KK is correcting that.

It was a bit tongue in cheek the comment, so lighten up Blair.

if liverpool fail in jose enrique bid they will go back for fabio coentrao, but that not to say that they don't want him already

***************************
I would prefer for that statement to be the other way around. . Been thinking about Clichy, he is only 26 and there is talk he could leave for around 5.5m. Can't believe the figures being reported for Enrique who is very avg imo.

Is macca former Liverpool player Steve mcmanaman and if not then where are your sources if you font mind me asking {Ed001's Note - it's not and I am sorry but revealing sources should never be asked, just judge him on the info he gives. You can't expect him to say who told him or there is the possibility of them finding out and saying nothing more to him.}

Guys and girls, every year these players plus money rumours spring up. These type of deals almost never happen!

There is always a first time mate. Just hopefully not the Lennon one! ! ! He is a little cocky sob with a huge ego. Can't stand him. Even walks like a chop.

Tomorrow's team:
Reina
Johnson
Carra
Skrtel
Robinson
Lucas
Meireles
Spearing
Suarez
Cole
Carroll
4-3-3 formation.

Cole instead of Kuyt? Need Kuyt for a tough away game. Fulham are not bad at the mo.

- - - - - - Reina- - - - -
Johnson-Carra-Skrtel-Robinson

- Kuyt- - -Suarez- - Meireles

That is our best 11 but

Kuyt- - - - - - - - - -Suarez

Meireles is much better centrally.

What about gerrard and kelly?

Best current fit 11. Stevie will always be in the team (spearing) but I am not with the rest and still rate Johnson as our best RB. My opinion.

I would play kelly at center back instead of carra.

Hi Ed, Odemwinge is a very talented footballer and while he could well be good enough, at 30 he's probably too old for us to have an interest in. However it just goes to show that there are relatively unheard of players out there that can fit in to the premiership. I hope our scouts have there eyes on some of that talent
( just thought I would post this as an answer to all the Odemwinge posts that will probably come in in the next 90 minutes or so!)

Hi ed hows u.well im thinking that the turn around that we have made since king kenny took over is just great spot on, we look strong solid an most of all a TEAM.since torro move on we just look as one, the young guns can't tell u how pleased i am too see king kenny use em great.just 2 or 3 players needed for the frist team ed an i think we will be pushing on for number 1 spot for sure.WE HAVE THE MAN THAT CAN IN KING KENNY I TRUST, UP THE REDS WALKING ON WITH LOTS OF HOPE IN MY HART, I WILL NEVER WALK ALONE WALK ON WALK ON, BRING ON FULHAM.PS A BIG THANK U FROM ALL OF US TO U NESV.JAY ESSEX RED FOR LIFE

Ed's and everyone
Who are you wanting to win midweek
Manchester city or Tottenham {Ed001's Note - good question, just so long as Spurs don't win, I think the best result for us is a draw really.}

Y draw. . tht wouldn't help us. . dnt u think its better spurs win the we will have a chance of 4th plaz {Ed001's Note - we would have a chance if it was a draw, but it also almost ensures 5th.}

Why not Spurs????
I'd say Spurs win and if we win our remaining games we finish above them anyway and it puts pressure on City that we could yet get Champions League!

Thanks for the reply ed, I was thinking about it a lot! Obviously it depends how high peoples standards are. . if they think we can get fourth or not. In my opinion I think it depends if we beat fulham, if we do i would prefer tottenham to win so we could have an outside chance of getting in top 4. But then if we lose we won't make it In the top 4 (I don't think anyway), so I would hope man city would win. Cheers {Ed001's Note - isn't a draw enough for us to still be able to finish above City?}

Surely we need spurs to win? It's a big ask but if we win our games spurs are irrelevant because we will finish ahead of them we need city to collapse completely beginning with the spurs game.

Ofcourse we can if its a draw, but look at the fixtures. . out of them 3 games which are they most likely to lose. they have to lose at least 2 for us to have a chance, and the two games I would say they have a chance of losing are the tottenham game and the bolton one. . probably no chance of them losing at home against the other team (forgot who they were but not one you would expect them to lose) but who knows aye, I just think if its a draw we won't make it in top 4 because of there next home game. but as I said I think it depends on the Liverpool fulham game on Monday cheers.

Can this Macca situation be resolved please Ed's
In the past he has given some credable information,
something which is few and far between, now we have "was it the real Macca or the fake Macca"
I thought anyone who posted as him would be banned from the site, i'm sure the real Macca can be determined by the Ed's with his e mail and ip.

I like to read his posts but now its spoilt as we never know if its genuine or not {Ed001's Note - as far as I know everything posted had his email addy next to it, but he has since posted denying certain posts were his. I really can't be entirely sure what has happened, but anyone we catch posting as him without his email addy gets an immediate IP ban.}

Cheers Ed that is fair doo's

All this talk about getting s cb. I don't think we need one.

Johnson carra agger ?

Flano skretl Kelly Robinson

And we would still have willson. And soto to be sold. Would like to see bains at left back. And how about hitzlesbeger for DM.

The reason we are looking at at least on CB is due to the fact that
A) Carra is getting on and is in the twilight of his career.
B) Agger over the last two years had had injury after injury.

Possible recruits for CB
Scott Dann
Kyriakos Papaodopolous
Phil Jones
Cayhill
Falcao

Soto, good lad but not good enough. Time for Agger to move on (if anybody wants him). I think we need Jones of Blackburn rather than Cahill who will cost more.

Re Hitzlsperger for DM, i personally would be disappointed if we were to consider him, He has a great left boot on him but his tracking is poor at best, seems to turn off alot too

The only falcao i know of is the striker who playes in porto.

Think he meant Rolando. . Falcao would be wasted at CD. . ;-)

08 May 2011 10:58:59
Benzema?! Pfffff

Johnny_Kop

He is not coming mate, don't stress. We wanted him in Jan, couldn't get him so signed Carroll. He is our no 9 and I only see a young CF coming in as backup, if any at all.

08 May 2011 11:06:28
Reading alot of papers online tis morning and it seems that nearly every player we mention is linked to the teams above us now, champ league will sway the players decisions. What do people think of Christopher Samba as cb, and Dj Cambell as another striker? i think Kenny will play Johnson in midfield, kelly as a cb, so i think that side mayby covered. Plus Payet as a winger. As for left back i don't think Baines is the man, prob won't leave anyways.

If Soto is not good enough neither is Samba. Sometimes when teams are near the foot of the table there is a reason their defenders should be not looked at. Upson another good example.

DJ Cambell is certainly not good enough.

Soto was never good enough, however it takes more than one player to make a team a bad side. i don't think samba is good enough, however on Cambell , he scored goals with an average team, and he would be a good addition from the bench!

08 May 2011 08:06:44
Imo ithink the best villa winger is young marc albrighton (and it's not a spelling mistake that's really how he spells mark) hes got a great cross on him and has lots of skill, wouldn't mind barry banahan either, what do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - Bannan is not good enough, not by a long shot, they sent him out on loan even though they were struggling.}

08 May 2011 08:10:39
ANYONE THINK LENNON AND HAZARD ARE REALISTIC SIGNINGS? AND STADIUM MOVE LOOKS LESS LIKELY WITH ANFIELD CAPACITY INCREASED.

Hope Anfield is redeveloped, out of the two players mentioned ild prefer Lennon, however i think KK will use Johnson in this position next year!

We should be looking at Dzudszak, Marin or Turan or A johnson for left for left wing . Any one of these would be a fantastic addition

08 May 2011 08:20:06
Great that we are being linked with downing ans young but which would you prefer ed? or do you have another choice for winger

p.s i hope that kenny has opened his eyes to charlie adam and realised he is not good enough for liverpool {Ed002's Note - Dmitri Payet would be my first choice.}

I agree ed, i have been watching payet with intret and he is a powerfull player and has a rocket shot but i think the stumbeling block is that he hasn't played at a very good level let aone the prem but the villa wingers have from villa i would prefer marc albrighton {Ed001's Note - he is a French international, I don't know how you can say he hasn't played a very good level.}

Payet for 12m would be an absolute bergain, I hope Young & Payet will arrive .
So Payet, Marveaux & Young the three wingers arriving.

Ashley Young is an England international and for some reason a lot of ppl on this site don't want him

A. Johnson, Payet & Marveaux and I will pee myself!

On the A. Young thing I think he is naturally a very gifted footballer but overplay's the ball wayy to much, doesn't track back well,

Unsure if was playing with a much higher calibre of player week in and out would thrust others more with the ball

Let's all take a step back and look at the team Kenny built in the 80s and stop with wish lists.
Kenny had a solid team with workers and a couple of flair players.
Let's look at this closer at what we had and what we have
Beardsley - Suarez
Aldridge - Carroll
Houghton - kuyt
Barnes - this is were kenny needs a solution
Nicol - Johnson (Johnson not as good defensively)

I could carry on with these comparisons all the way through the class of 87/ 88 but would like to open this up to for your thoughts ed

LFC1

Its a waste of time comparing players.

With all respect, I don't think they're the best examples to be honest. People are worried about the potential signing of Adam, yet there was a cracking post on here the other day stating how Kenny didn't have the best players to work with at Blackburn yet they 'gelled'. Leave it to our manager people and get behind him.

Certainly a good comparison.Okay we have added Marveux to the team but still need a flair left winger as previous we should be looking at one of the following Turan, Marin, Dzoudsak, Johnson all LW

I hope Chelsea win today. I just don't want ManU to get 19 titles before us. So come on Torres pull your finger out! !

Personally I don't give a f**k who wins it out of those two. I hate both of them. What I do know is that next season with right signings and King Kenny we will be amongst the contendors.

VM YNWA

I'd rather have manu win because we could take it back(we'd have no choice), but if torres wins he has a whole lifetime to tell everyone he was right

If Chelski want to win they won't start Torres mate. If Ancelotti is choosing the team it has to be a front 3 of Malouda, Drogba & Kalou on form.

Blackpool will get 19 titles before you lot. . . . . hehehehe

Well your not getting 19 anytime soon you plank! ! I hate the Spaniard but despise you lot. Go Chelksi! ! !

Well its nice to feel that we can win any game under kd he will be given 3 years so will steve clark we will have ins and outs of about 15 with this as our staring 11
Reina
Johno. Agger. Cahill. Clichy
Lennon. Gerrard. Spearing. Jarvis
Carroll. Suarez

Bench. Elmander mervaux carra skrtel kelly flano seb larrson

Clichy is tosh. Jarvis would only be good enough as a back-up. Lennon is carp. Spearing is not better than Lucas (yet). If it was up to me I would pay anything for A. Johnson - and have Marveaux as backup.

Secondly, KK is up to date. He knows that 4-4-2 is out dated and will play 4-3-3 (4-5-1 defending) with Suarez wide (right) and one pacy winger on the left (hopefully A. Johnson).
Expect a MF 3 of Meireles, Lucas, Gerrard with Adam, Spearing, Sissoko as back-up.

Fensh

Wheres meireles, lucas. probably liverpools best players all season???

next season liverpool wil qualify 4 champion league

Outside chance if results go our way that we could this year

Certainly mate

Anyone know the odds for Liverpool to win the premier league next season? Could be a awesome bet when you think about it. . macca confident about A Johnson and benzema and some of the ed's mentioning players like m sissoko who we might sign. Could be a good season :D cheers

Better than top 4 we will be pushing for that number 1 spot for sure 2 or 3 players in an the young guns an away we go.looking at are team its getting better all the time, jay essex red

Get real. . Utd. chelsea, arsenal & City will all spend big this summer so whatever we spend will be cancelled out won't it. Few more seasons before we are challenging again.BenMc.

Didnt city spend more than us this season.
Were only just off them and that's giving them half a season head start.

LAVERS

I think 3rd is realistic for next season behind ManU & Chelski. Arsenal are in decline, Spurs are back to mid-table and ManC will buy a whole new team again with too many ego's and will take half a season to gel.

If Liverpool really want to spent 15million on buying a left-back, they should go for either Leighton baines or Davide Santon. Both are classy players & really I don't see any sense in buying Jose Enriques. First He is spanish so he would & second I don't want Getting h**ked up by Newcastle again. He & Ashley Young are both massively over-rated players, If they both signs, i will stop believing king kenny & supporting liverpool.

We support the club, not throw hissy fits when we don't get what we want. Managers see the big picture, we at least want a unified dressing room and not a bunch of individuals looking for their next move.
Ed' s doing a great job.
Freeworld Speech.

If they both sign you will stop supporting Liverpool? I'm afraid if you can say that then you didn't support Liverpool in the first place. Get yourself off to the Chavsea site with the other glory hunters! I don't particularly want Enrique or Young but if they sign I will give them my full support and hope they prove me wrong.

Chris in Tamworth

I hope Kenny is taking note. You will stop supporting the team if he sign's anyone that isn't on your wishlist. You are a huge asset to this club.

Prob not a LFC fan mate - just winding u lot up. Enrique & Young (who both look likely) are not everybody's cuppa but still better than some of the carp signed by Houllier/Rafa/Hamster over the years.

I don't see why everyone hates on Downing. I think he is a very decent player, and is very old fashioned in that he is able to hug the touchline and put in good service. Would be perfect for Andy Carroll {Ed005's Note - Not keen on him either but would certainly prefer him over Young.}

The only Villa player I would take without too much thought is Albrighton

Manchester City 35games played - 62pts - 21GD
Manc v Tottenham
Manc v Stoke
Bolton v Manc

Tottenham 35games played - 56 pts - 7GD
Manc v Tottenham
Liverpool v Tottenham
Tottenham v Birmingham

Liverpool 35games played - 55pts - 15GD
Fulham v Liverpool
Liverpool v Tottenham
Aston Villa v Liverpool

I think we can get 5th if we beat Tottenham next week, a very very very very slim chance of fourth. Manc must lose 2 games and draw 1 or draw 2 games and lose 1(but we must outscore our last 3 opponents by atleast 7 if my calculations are correct). But NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! wishful and hopeful thinking though! What you reckon ed? great great site btw and thanks for giving your time to this, bet your getting ready for the 2nd of June! all praise to you eds!

King Kenny for knighthood
YNWA!

P.S. GO MANNY PACQUIAO! ed you like boxing? {Ed001's Note - I am not giving up on fourth until it is mathematically impossible, I hope the team are doing the same as you never know. As for boxing, I do like it, I am recording the Pacquiao fight to watch later, I love his style. Read a great piece on him the other day, about how he developed his style from watching Bruce Lee movies. Strange how it comes full circle as Bruce Lee developed a lot of his style from watching boxing!}

Nice One Ed! Pacquiao to knock Mosley out in the 8th round prediction for me!

FilipinoRED {Ed001's Note - Pacquiao will go down as the greatest pound for pound boxer of the modern era, I think, and knocking out Mosley is part of that march to greatness. I think Mosley will be out in the 6th.}

Agree with you on that one ed! greatest pound for pound fighter of the modern era! too bad Mayweather's too gay to slug it off with Pacman! that should be the last chapter to pacman's climb to being the greatest pound for pound fighter!

FilipinoRED

He will never be the greatest pound for pound until he beats mayweather!

Manchester City 35games played -62pts
Manc v Tottenham - Manchester City Lose
Manc v Stoke - Manchester City Draw
Bolton v Manc - Manchester City Lose

Tottenham 35games played - 56 pts
Manc v Tottenham - Tottenham Win

Blair Mayne YNWA

Too bad Mayweather doesn't want to fight Pacquiao.

FilipinoRED

Well said mate

Pacquiao and Mayweather are certainly two of the best ever but in my humble opinion the best I ever saw was Sugar Ray Leonard

Chris in Tamworth

If your all into your boxing look out for nonito donaire this guy is class.

Sugar ray would knock them both out {Ed001's Note - which Sugar Ray? If you mean Leonard then no chance, Robinson on the other hand would stand a chance.}

Pretty Boy wouldn't be able to live with the Pacman! !

I'm better than Pac & Mayweather so remember my name. S.B.Lodge
People are laughing but I'll be laughing last.

Macca, do you think that if we sign Young and Downing, we will get another winger? And you heard anything on Benzema? Im hearing we're planning to make a move soon.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
As i said, Young and Downling are very likely and i am certain of Adam Johnson. Benzema deal is agreed and will still go ahead.

Macca

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ed do you know if this is the real Macca? {Ed002's Note - There are no fake Macca's.}
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Ed was Macca saying we are certain to sign Adam Johnson or we are not signing him ? Sound.

{Ed002's Note - He is saying that he is signing.}
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
What do you think Ed ? Do you think he will sign ? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is possible.}

ED, if this is true, then I am gutted mate. Not about adam johnson, he is superb but about benzema who is camollis choice I HUGELY believe and young and downing who in my eyes are not good enough. Not only that but where does that leave PAYET' who i had my heart on him signing as he is far better han the latter and would be cheap. Ed your thoughts mate?

{Ed002's Note - The man says these four deals are in pretty good shape and they are all good players so I think you should be happy with what he said.}
- -
If we sign Benzema, and Johnson I will happily have Macca's babies! Ross

Macca . . don't speculate things with your imaginations, Benzema won't sign for us no way splashing another 15/20m on a striker. Downing has been looked but he is little bit old so out of the picture, Young is the main winger target and LFC will go down to wire to get him.
Adam Johnson is an option though if his price is not more than 14-16m.
- - - the unknown- - - - - - {Ed005's Note - Worth noting that the fake Macca claimed Benzema was a done deal.}

It's ok I just read yesterdays banter. So the blag Macca said that Benzema deal is still agreed, and that Johnson is a cert? Pitty. would be made up with both.

Just heard we may take upson from west ham for 2m, to give kelly time to develop into the class centre half he is going to be, surely with west ham going down this is more than plausible
- - - - - -
Absaloutly no chance they value him at a staggering £6.50 I'm not sure we could match that sadly. .

Square tomato

Upsons not worth £6.50!

Sent to Coventry

Young Danny Wilson is already a better player than Upson who would be a poop buy.

What annoys me is people state the team for next season with no sign of dirk kuyt or the two very impressive youngsters

dirk kuyt has been fantastic and martin kelly and john flanagan look so proosing both being young and english keep the youngsters coing through

we don't need all these foreigners

sign brits

charlie adam
connor wickham
ashley young
stuart downing

we have tried the foreign game to much and when did we last challenge for the title !

lets create a squad who bond with each other like barcelona not a squad that is for themselves

- - - - - - - - - - - -

It was the 2008/ 9 season when we last challenged and we only had two Brits in the team then (Carra&Stevie).

One of the 'Forgetful' Liverpool fans I see. .Sign brits. . yeh because teams over the last few years that have won the title have been full of 'brits'

But for some reason they suck at international level???

How many brits were in the team when they last won champions league?

But Carlton Cole is a Brit and he is amazing, he is atleast as good as another top CF in the world :P and really cheap at 12m Oo

You know what really irks me, well i'll tell(i've had a few so sorry for a bit of a rant.)people say say that this person or another isn't good enough for the great pool, WELL let me tell you(or ask nicely lol)just look at the squads of man u or chelsea, on paper there not the greatest especially not man u's(fletchet, park, gibson, o shea and the like.) but if you can get a person who can bring and be apart of a team even if that one person isn't the greatest shouldn't you have faith in what the manager knows and what he is doing to realise the even us mere mortals sometimes do not realise is that the thing thing that makes kings (kenny) is the ability to see beyond others imagining and bring out the best in others without suppressing their individuality, then mix both these attirvbutes together successfully to bring n the eventualality of winning. So remember its not the person, its the team that can rely on one another enough to know that its ok try be yourself but not to forget we are one together because without each other we would be. . . . . . (enter the crappest team you can think of here! lol)
or alone.
