Ok just a quick question for all lfc fans? Who would like tevez to join. I for one would love it him and suarrz would be deadly. His family have come to england now so i think we would see a different tevez as been a happy one. If i couldnt see my kids and family for weeks on end thay would kill melet alone playing football with a clear head. Saf didnt want him he was forced out of the club but lfc never drives players out if they had the same qualitys as tevez has. I think he would love it at lfc and would love him to join. How bout u eds and other people. Yes=be no=un

gezza1982

And what would we pay his £200, 000 a week wages with...chocolate coins?

He is a quality player but his attitude leaves a lot to be desired sometimes. I am also stuggling to see where he could fit in the team as him and suarez are very similar players.

Leo Idaho

Sir Alex wanted Tevez to stay, he was'nt forced out, Tevez wanted to be greedy, all he saw was $$$$$ signs that was dangled in front of him, Liverpool would be better off giving him a wide berth, as would any top team.... HERBIE(MUFC)

No player's worth £200k a week. Joke.
The Real KB

LFC have a strict wage budget. The highest possible wage offered would be around 110K (Stevie's on 120K). Carlos will no doubt will be earning 200K+. Whether you would want him to join or not, the chances of him joining are about the same as Messi joining Accrington Stanley (Wgo are they? Exactly.).

Thanks, James.

As much as I can't stand him and his mercenary ways, if man city city paid half of his wages and he came in january until summer and scored 20 goals I would have him here yes. But it will never happen.

Hi Ed's, this isn't specifically Liverpool related but I'm having a debate with my flatmate. Basically I didn't think it was allowed for one premier league club to loan two players to the same club, so for example Liverpool sending two of their players on loan to Bolton, but my flatmate is adamant he is correct. Can you tell us who is right?

Thanks

Luke {Ed009's Note - I certainly recall that you are correct.}

Thanks Ed, I thought I was right but knew one of you guys would know for sure.

Whats with Liverpool-kop.com and a Jamie Kanwar? What a kn@b. Clicked on a story about Huddlestone and couldnt beleive what this person was writing.
Not one of Liverpools Fc finest blogs i take it!

Yeah the guys a t**t, just talks a load of crap. I'd stay away from anything written by him if i were u.

I have been very unimpressed by Kenwar's ramblings. He seems to be a self-publicist with a wide variety of valueless opinions.

Ok Not! an accusation just a question,so "calm down", everyone.Do people on here think KK Knows his best team,ie eleven,for most games?(obviously tactics/injuries change it a tad)Talking most games! Agree=Yes,Disagree=NO.Just outve interest.

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Hendo Lucas Adam Downing
Suarez Carroll

Gerrard for Hendo when back. Best team, I think Kenny's too.

Good shout mate with team but at this moment in time think Bellamy should start before Downing.

Kelly is far better than Johnson

Carra is far better than sicknote or dracula

To the carra post,your seriously disillusioned mate,now get ta bed...

Hendo for gerrard ? no I will like Jonjo

Disillusioned mate?

Na just realistic

Quite taking the tablets by any chance?

Im a big fan of shawcross think he would be the ideal replacement for an ageing Carra. I was wondering what your thoughts were on him as a january target for us ed? {Ed009's Note - I just answered this question on rumours mate.}

Prefer Shawcross to Cahill. I would buy Lovren though.

You won't get Shawcross, United have first dabs on him and will take him back before letting him go to Liverfool.

Red Daz.

Tx for the update red spaz.

Both skrtel and agger are better than shawcross

'Liverfool' ouch man! Low blow, that. Are you sure Utd would just casually blow £15m or so just to spite Liverpool? I suspect they have more sense than that...

DP

Shawcross and Cahill are average at best. The fact Arsene Wenger was interested in Cahill speaks volumes as he couldnt spot a decent defender in twenty lifetimes.

I think I have outstayed my warmish welcome on this site so you will be delighted to know this is my last post.

I would like to finish on an upbeat note, so I honestly believe that Liverpool will not be relegated this season, well, I'm almost sure, well its possible, well let's be honest its probable. However, King Kenny was very astute getting Banjo Shelvey to do a reccy on your Championship opposition for next year. You may find that some Championship grounds are a dive, but that will suit Suarez and co, literally down to the ground!

So to finish, to the adjusted lyrics of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" this is "my way" of wishing you adieu.

And now, the end is near, and so you face, my final posting, my friends I'll say it clear, I've taken the mick, not in a bad way, I love your feisty-ness, your devotion to, your beaten empire, but more, much more than this, I posted my way!

Yes there were times, I'm sure you knew, when Suarez bit off, more than he could chew, but through it all, when you had doubts, you called me "bluenose", I fell about, I took your blows, but I stood tall, and posted my way!

I've loved, and laughed at your posts, you've had your fill, your share of losing, and now as your angst subsides, I find you ohhhh, sooo amusing, to think Sir Alex won all that, and may I say, not in a shy way, oh no, I'm not that bad, I posted my way!

For who is Sir Alex , what has he got, he just keeps winning, and you have not, knocked off your perch, you are so sad, he is the greatest, you are so mad, the record shows, he delivers the blows, and did it his way……..yes (for 25 years) he's done it, his way………..

Sir Alex xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (19 x's)
PS IMO, it is a disgrace that Kenny Dalglish has not received a Knighthood. He is not only one of Britain's greatest ever players, and successful in management, but in particular for his comportment, dignity and on-going support to those directly and indirectly affected in Liverpool's darkest hour.
JFT 96, because no matter who we support, we are, accepting the abhorrent mindless scum, a football family!

PS part we all appreciate alex, nice way to end your stay.
Still a jelous Bitter/Manc though!

KT!

My way is one of my favorite songs of all time and the lines fit perfectly B+.

Thank god we've finally got rid of him

I have seen posts from you, Alex, that have ranged from clever and funny to insulting and arrogant but I've never felt any desire to comment on them.
However, in one simple paragraph, apparently your last on this site, you have shown your true colours. You are a gentleman Sir Alex and I would welcome you back anytime.

Chris in Tamworth

Please don't go (OOPS THERE'S ANOTHER SONG), your obsession has been fantastic.

Let's not call it goodbye Alex, more like au revoir.............I will miss your light hearted posts.

Take care of yourself, and each other.

Nice words at the end mate.

JRG

Missing you already.

dmedly

ps. You've got far too much spare time on your hands!

Respect

And now, the end is near, the plonkers gone, his final post on, my friends he was a pratt, a fergie clone, a one celled moron, But weve got Kenny, his childish smile, heart in the right place, ball at his feet, hes played the game he was the best, a man of honour, not like the rest, his record shows, he took the blows, and hes not a cheat!

Yes there were times, I'm sure you knew, when fergie whinged, more than he could chew, but through it all, when we had doubts, when our king came, we learnt to shout, youve left this site, thank christ for that, crawl back to your hole

You fool, we laughed at your posts, you've had your fill, your share of spouting, and now as your smell subsides, We find you ohhhh, sooo amusing, we know Sir Alex will always cheat, and may we say, not in a shy way, oh yes, were glad your gone, now p*** off to manc land

For who is Sir Alex , what has he got, five of the big ones, oh no hes not, and now we're back, prepared to buy, Kennys the King, prepare to cry, the record shows, oh poor red nose..... youve had your day...youve had your day!

tel 1949

This is genuinely the first time I have ever felt the need to post on this site, after reading it on pretty much an hourly basis since the start of the last transfer window.

The abuse directed towards this guy recently has been nothing short of embarrassing, the time (yes it's alot, bordering on obsession) effort, knowledge and sometimes even a bit of intelligence to create what is, in effect, GENUINE BANTER between two sets of fans (I don't buy he is a bitter) amongst some of the hate fueled garbage that can be found out there is to be commended in my opinion.
You people that snap at his comments and whine to the edds

Couldn't be bothered reading

6-1 6-1 6-1 6-1 6-1

Goodbye sir alex. are you going to kill yourself because as far as i know the last post is only intended for the dead?
dm

I for one enjoyed his posts, as they were well formulated and thought out. We should all smile that a Man Utd fan spent soo much time on our banter page, as clearly the Reds under KK are being noticed by everyone. Cheers Sir Alex, take care, regards Shankly's Red Army.

Chris in Tamworth
{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure we should be encouraging such things - I'll let it go as long as it doesn't get stupid.}

Can't stop laughing at JRG's post - punch Hitler. A tyrannical, mass murderer that plunged the world into war which resulted in 40 million deaths ?
Give him a good punch, that'll teach him.
The Real KB

LOL Thanks The Real KB - I am not a violent person, don't think I have ever punched anyone in my life so I really struggled with that one so why not pick the person who has been responsible for more murders and genocide in modern history?

JRG

Hitler is not repsonsible for more murders than anyone else in modern history but we can't talk about that here!

Hitler, Pol Pot, Sadaam, David Moyes, Gadhaffi...

Eds do you think shelveys loan might be extended beyond December? Until summer maybe? He seems to be developing at a good pace at the moment and I would hate to see him back an not get a look in again.
I would personally keep him at Blackpool until summer and then loan him to a premier league club for at least 6 months. We hardly need centre mids at the moment so may as well keep him there to flourish.
I would love to see all of our promising youngsters go out on similar loans at the age of about 18/19 to get the most out of them.

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - This was addressed about an hour back.}

I think it's important that he's at a team that likes to play attacking pass & move football.
This will get him used to how we intend to play.

KT!

Also a convo with Neville? Surely he's your first punching choice Chris?

KT!

hi eds..

iam not going to ask if liverpool sign this or that...
but i would like to know about coates..

is he settled in england?

whats the word there with you guys?is he good?

thanks..

nz {Ed002's Note - He is young and needs time to learn the language, adapt to the culture etc. He'll be fine.}

Coates played for Liverpol twice and has been responsible for two goals, one on each occasion, not bad, eh?

03 Nov 2011 17:02:25
A few mentions of Blackburns Hoillett been looked at, any truth or just a load of rubbish

Ed said a while back that he was being looked at as a backup if the Bellamy transfer didn't happen.

RenegadeRed

We should def try to sign Hoilett, but the 18m quoted is a bit steep for age and 18 months left on contract.

03 Nov 2011 16:51:01
Hi ed, just thought i'd tell you that the 'Macca rumours' page link is not showing any posts by macca. I don't know if it is just me or its the same for others.

03 Nov 2011 16:50:33
Will people stop with the Shelvey stuff, yes he got a hattrick and desrves praise but he is not YET good enough to start for Liverpool.
He needs to work on his defensive game alot if he's gonna be a star.

KT!

I think that frimpong could be better

And when exactly was the last time one of our 1st team scored a hat-trick...Cut the lad some slack its great that he has the ability to score three in a match

MJ

Frimpong? Really?

KT!

MJ
I am not doubting that he has great attacking ability, i was just saying he needs to work on his defensive game.
I have no doubts that if he did this he would be a very good player for LFC.

KT!

Defensively frimpong is better but shelvey is better going forward however frimpong has got a good shot if frimpong never got injured last season he would have been fab but he is getting better and if you are looking for a textbook dm he is the man

Frimpong was immense against us untill the red card if he calms down and does not let emotions get to him ...
jaime redkanpp said so as well

Frimpong is more like Coady, you can't really compare Shelvey & Frimpong as they are two different types of players, hence why i laughed off the suggestion that Frimpong could be better.
I'd say Coady & Frimpong could become very good DM's & are probably as good as each other now.

KT!

I think Coady has ability to really be a quality box to box cm in the Stevie mould. Frimpong is limited to dm. Shelvey will be better than people think. A Song is overrated, Frimpong is better.

Oh my mistake only because when i have sen him play he is a dm/cm but i do think frimpong and the other french dm at arsenal coquelan are better than coady

Coady will be a helluva player mate, much better than Coquelin & Frimp. Wait and see. I do think Frimpong is better than Song though.

God broke the mould after Gerrard

There will only ever be one stevie

Get well soon son &

Congradulations on another baby girl

Looking forward to see you playing for many years to come.

Hi eds i am really positive about Stevie G and i believe he may be involved in the squad for Chelsea if not definitely City. I just think he as become really unkucky but fingers crossed we will have him for rest of the season. Its important to have him for the christmas period.

At least his injury is not his groin or a pull or a tear. One that looks straight forward.

Mighty reds

But will we see the StevieG of old?

Since Kenny won't play stevie in the support striker role we won't see the stevie of old how can we he'll now play as a DM whether the fans agree or not that is how Kenny see's him.

Hi eds. Do u think we will be trying 2 buy any1 in jan. Also do u think will kenny be going after adam johnson? And do u think he will be going after a striker? And if so who? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Please read the discussion on this and use the search facility.}

Hi eds i want to knw whether lfc will going to make new signings in jan. Did daglish has money to spend. Which are realistic target for jan. Thanx. Grt site. {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts and search facility. Everything is there.}

Hi to all the Ed' s and fellow Liverpool family. Firstly I would like to say that as a distant supporter from down under that what a privilege it is to be apart of the best club in the world and that I have been following this site for over 3 years and I log on at least twice a day for updates and the jovial banter and rumours. Firstly I would like to say that we have come a long way over the last twelve months with KK and the team and that a little bit of patience will reward us in the end even though we have waited twenty years for that holy grail. Secondly the people like the ed's, Blair johnson, chris tamsworth, and co keep it up as it is comforting for people like me who would kill for an opportunity to ever watch a game live at anfield to know that your banter keeps our fellow distant supportes up and firing. Lastly I will say to those whose are impatient that the likes of Man. City and co can buy all the cattle in the world, but really trust in KK and the Liverpool way because a champion team will always beat a team of champions. Believe we are not far away.Best wishes to all. Aussie Jim

Fair play to you mate! Its nice to hear a sencible point of view now and again. its what ive been saying, bit of patience, it int gonna happen over nite Even with the money city have got it took em 3 years or so!

Cheers Aussie Jim mate, for the kind words.

03 Nov 2011 12:19:59
eds,just a question,when fans on here talk about players coming through the system or on the edge of squad,you say they are too young! all the time i here it,hes just a kid,he needs more time! here you go with a few kids names i thought of!

fowler
mcmanaman
redknapp
owen
carra
gerrard
kelly
flano

players from other teams!

beckham
giggs
wilshere
henry
anelka
scholes
a,cole

the age thing is rubbish,liverpools youth system aint working for 1 reason they are scared to use the kids,ie pacheco,class player never given fair chance if he was at united or arsenal he would of made it! {Ed001's Note - rubbish, those players were not just thrown in and played every minute of every game at 18. An 18 year old's body is not physically able to cope with top level football on a regular basis. That is why kids that do get thrown in at the deep end tend to have shorter careers, they suffer from injuries etc which they wouldn't have got if they were just held back a little. They need to give their bodies a chance to grow to cope with the demands placed on it.}

Think your right ed001 , as much as we would live to see young sterling co , its better to think of the bigger picture , even with owen , and robbie , in todays game they would have been held back maybe a season or so , and would of had less stress put on their joints etc , which would of been better for there longivety.............lfc

Owen and fowler,rooney they all had a fair amount of games not just 2 or 3 a season! look at the stats ed on all the players i listed,then come back with another answer! {Ed002's Note - Sterling is still 16. He is simply not ready and it would do more damage than good. TRy not to simply think of the exceptions.}

Was not talking about sterling ed,was thinking more about pacheco and shelvey,pacheco never got a fair chance,he can see younger players getting games elswhere so ofcourse he at least wanted the chance,and watching him play for the reservs over the years i for 1 think he earned the chancve esp last season when you looked at our squad,take young spearing,he should of been released 2 years ago,he will never reach his potential now in my opinion because he was held back for so long,pacheco last season was as good at norwhich as shelvey is this year at blackpool,it will have same outcome! {Ed001's Note - Pacheco did not earn the chance at all, perhaps if you took the time to find out why he never got the chance you would know he was at fault. He was not putting the effort in, he was turning up late for training and he was told repeatedly that he needed to work for the chance to play. He let himself down and he lost his chance. As for Shelvey, he is simply not good enough to be first choice yet, but he needs experience to improve and become first choice. Loaning him out was the obvious solution, I fail to see the problem?}

For people calling to play Sterling, what if he comes up against someone the size of Micah Richards there's only one winner, i know not every right back is build like him but you get my point. You can use Rooney as an example but at 16 he was not much smaller than he is now.

always a red

What wouls happen if you put 17yr old owen up against micah? hed get skinned 1.0 !

Yup thats why owen in nowhere now. He is ravaged by injuries and had to ruin progressing his promising career. Ya he was unstoppable for liverpool and england when he was young. But what happened to him since 2005.

Abhi

Do you know a 17yr Owen, and i doubt he would get skinned.

always a red

A lot of them players mentioned also suffered injurys throughout there playing careers maybe made worse by being blooded in too early.
The ed is right in saying they won't be playing in the first team on a regular basis anytime soon.
Why would we want to risk some of the most promising youngsters we have had for a long time when our first team is quite strong.
They will be loaned out when ready to play on a regular basis, like what we are seeing now with shelvey

MIKEY

HEY EDs where is Macca? Probably on leave, perhaps we will see some posts closer to Jan.Wonder if he has any news on stadium as he was always in the loop.Andy C will come good and I predict he will be a future Kop Hero! maybe breaking fowlers record!

PLayers that are good enough have and will cope if they are thrown in aguero,messi,shrek,fabregas,neymar... the list goes on i understand what the ed's are saying but i would like to see our attacking youngsters get more first team action...i see pacheco as a wonderful prospect and i hope he comes back {Ed002's Note - There is no way that we are going to agree on this, and it seems the management have the same opinion as the Eds. I also very much doubt Pacheco will be coming back.}

So you think our young players are of the standard of messi, aguero, fabregas etc?

If they were they woudl obviously get through quicker, you do understand that there are people at the club monitering their progress constantly, if they don't feel they are ready or good enough yet then trust them

To the poster above. Let me tell u some other world class players like xavi, iniesta, puyol, villa, pique, ramos, alves etc. All of them made their mark when they reached their twenties. That doesn't mean these players are not ass good as the players u mentioned. So, just wait until they are ready. U just cant ruin a youngsters career in the long term just to benifit the club in the short term when there is no need or rush for it. A youngster is prone to make some errors in a match. Example flanagan against sunderland, and i remember every fan here slating and saying he's not good enough. Could u understand what kind of mental effect it will have on an 18 year ols who is still not completely matured mentally and physically. Just because he tackle gareth barry in his bedut match and could not mark larsson in his 9th match for the club, he can not go to a loser from hero.

And what the eds are trying to explain is you is try to study the careers of players like Ronaldo(Brazil), Owen, javier saviola, owen hargreaves, even our own Aquilani.

Some players are like very fit and ocassionally gets injured like our own carra, lucas, skrtel, kuyt who are always physically matured andey always fit since younger days. But others like agger, aurelio, gerrard etc, they dont have same physical fitness levels as the above, so they always need to be monitered. If u consider aurelio, he could have been a first choice left back for brazil many years if he has fitness levels like kuyt. But he ended up with zero caps. I hope u understand the point.

Abhi

Wouldnt mind seeing a cheeky bid for Defoe put in, The lad can always find the net!

Lol I doubt it, the only player out in jan is pav, harry won't sell jdf, & I doubt he would move up north? pav on the other hand? when he wants to play, he can play, and harry its looking to sell

Defoe could not hit a barn door if he was standing next to it. Ross

Just seen an article on the BBC Football site from a newspaper that rhymes with BBC Football site about sir Alex. He says that the match that bugs him most is that against West Ham in 1995. I thought that it was because it cost him the title but I have now realised that it is the only match in which a penalty decision has gone against him.
DM -

Looking at the photos, he's had the same haircut the whole of his life !
Now that is stability.
I bet he doesn't even have to tell his barber "Usual please".

Wonder if he needs 'the hairdyer?'

He's probably been chewing the same piece of gum for the last 25 years as well.

when do u think stadium statment come out ed {Ed002's Note - There is no point in guessing, but reasonably soon.}

In less Than a month? {Ed001's Note - it would seem likely the club will announce a decision this month, but it is by no means certain, they can just apply for another extension.}

The club was given an extension on G&H's old stadium planning permission. Supposedly until mid-November. So something should come out soon. Even if it's just another planning submission as the ed says. Even if it is, it may indicate the preferred route.

I thought this was supposed to be a 'rumours' site and not a 'let's ask the Eds stupid questions' site. I used to enjoy coming on here to see what rumours people had, now it bores me because people just ask the editors questions! Come on people, post rumours. YNWA

Hey eds my sister's friend's brother who is studying in Liverpool has a dentist whose wife's cousin's friend's husband's mistress is Comolli's maid and she said that we're going for Aguero, Hazard, Neymar, Ganso, Tevez, Mario Gomez and some Japanese kid in January.

Yeah, problem is that Madrid, Barca, Man City, PSG and Chelski are all going to be bidding for some Japanese kid so we've been priced out the market on him.

Mates, hold your phones, this is hot from the kitchen: we are cloning Pele! Apparently the club bought some technology from the Japanese, and Comolli snuck in Pele's bathroom to obtain DNA samples!!

Apparently Real Madrid have bought Pele's bathroom so we've missed out there!

Ash...dude i just cant stop laughing after reading that.

Well done to shelved again.. What a player he could turn out to be

Mate he is doing well but at the moment i think he falls into the just a little bit too good for the championship and just not quite ready for the prem category, but i think one or two seasons with teams like blackpool under outstanding managers like ian holloway and he will be more than ready for the prem , he will come back with bags of first team experience and a hunger to prove himself even more so than his first time at anfield.

Like i said yesterday I went to watch Ajax vs Dinamo Zagreb and checked out our, Liverpool's latest transfer target Not luuk but Sei De Jong, he scored a goal and has attacking instincts and has a good touch. I will request an offer of 15Mill.

'I will request an offer of 15Mill.'

If youre the guy selling him....you don't have any spare Neymars and a Messi or two around the place do you?
