How do you think we should approach the derby?
I think we were naive against Spurs and to some extent engineered our own downfall with a little help from the referee of course.
Against the blues think we should flood the midfield and leave just the talented workaholic Suarez upfront and keep it tight. We will eventually create openings and hopefully tuck one or two away.
Keeping it tight away from home will stop our lack of pace in the centre of defence from getting exposed.
kidmillions

I disagree about keeping it tight. Whereas a team like Spurs has the ability to play anyone off the park on their day, Everton have a patchy midfield and a weakened attack. I agree we should play Lucas, Adam AND Gerrard to control possession, but I'd like to see Suarez playing with Kuyt and Downing/Bellamy/Maxi constantly supporting him. Win the central midfield battle, feed the front 3 and get Gerrard up to support them. Lucas hanging back, Adam patrolling the centre circle

Red Ollie

Keeping it tight plays into Everton's hands. We haven't been at our best defensively recently so playing to our strengths of slick passing and good movement I would think would be the way to go. I can see Kuyt coming in for Henderson, and Bellamy in for Carroll. Kuyt always steps up in the big games, and playing Bellamy would stretch Everton's backline. Distin and Jagielka I think would struggle with the movement of Bellamy and Suarez, as opposed to Carroll. Carroll and Henderson could both come off the bench and influence the game if things aren't going well.

I absolutely 100% agree assuming you mean Glen Johnson on the right wing? Carroll needs people to hit the byline and either whip it in or cut it back to him, then he'll be lashing them in every week. Johnson and Downing would give us that down both flanks. Suarez and Gerrards link up play would be sensational, and Lucas is a phenominal anchor to the midfield. Its a sign of a good team when Carragher looks like the weakest link in it!

YNWA! (Adam)

Yeah, right. Another of that someone-hitting-the-byline-and-whipping-it-in-to-Carroll trick.
What makes you think that such style of play can be productive week in week out and can't be easily neutralized by big center backs? Get real, mate.

BooDaBooze

The era of "hit the byline and whip it in to the big fella" is long gone at the top level.

Ash

Right guys, rather the goals r scored using ur feet than ur head. Most of the big teams play with two skillful n versatile strikers up front. The days of a target man r long gone. It makes the play more one dimensional. Shud sign leandro damiao to partner suarez up front.
Indian Buzzer

The days of a BIG CENTRE FIREWORK are long gone. Defences are too well drilled now.
We didn't even play that game in the 70s and 80s when were top dogs.

do all you eds know each other? {Ed007's Note - Ed002 is my wife. Ed001 and 009 are twins and Ed003 was part of a scientific experiment to find a Blackpool fan. Gerrard will not start again ? dont know why best team not start the match. you can replace him in 60 minutes. like to see Gerrard Suarez start togather. come on Kenny

I rather Stevie start against manc after the international break. KD knows if he starts against bitters, Capello might pick him for the qualifiers!

Gerrard, I too think isn't match fit and i still beliecve capello is doing as hard as he can to lure the captain fantastic back for the national team. Hope, to see a complete fit gerrard, this season. YNWA

the more I see Adam Morgan the more he reminds me of a young micheal owen his pace positioning and finishing are something special add to the his strength and power we have a future gem..
Him and Stirling are going to be letah for us in a few years.... 1-0 Vs Molde adam morgan on 66 mins.. Kids are playing really well dominance deserves more goals can't see it finishing at 1-0....
!st team can't be to far for some of these kids.
Carlos79

Agree, thought Suso and Raheem linked up quite well together too, and I like the look of Silva too. Shame Suso, Raheem & Morgan weren't on all at the same time.

Defence has been strong and untroubled

Ed's, I didn't watch Robbie or Owen very early on, do you think this kid Morgan is as good at this stage of his career?

dmedly {Ed009's Note - He is as good at goalscoring though I am not sure he has other attributes that are so impressive at this time. I suggest wariness with youth players too; its a huge step up which some hugely talented players just don't make.}

I dunno about him and owen but we are destroying them should be about 3-0 up if it wasn't for chances gone missing. :)

3-0 up another for Morgan great finish from a defenders slip and 3rd was Silva great goal last 2 goals in last 2 mins.
Finished 3-0 liverpool. Great 2nd half performance.
Carlos79

Ed do you have any examples of the players who were hugely talented but didn't quite make the step up?

Always remember Mellors last minute goal against Arsenal a few years back, then he moved on to a lower league team.

Cheers

dmedly {Ed009's Note - Mellor was going to be my prime example but there a fair few. Pacheco could well turn out to be one.}

Glad to hear that the youngsters have done well tonight in the next-Gen they played brilliantly created a hatful of chances against Wolfburg and lost in the previous game. Was one of the strangest games of football I seen in a long time.

Surely you want spurs to go far in it. the longer in it then they will not be able to totally concentrate on trying to get 4th. dont want them to win it myself birmingham city are going all the way but they longer they are in it the more games they have to play.

what are the chances of agger starting on sat eds?

Mighty reds {Ed009's Note - non existent, surely?}

Kenny did say he's back in training though ed?

maka {Ed009's Note - Yes but I doubt a player who is anything short of 100% will make his return in the derby, especially one as prone to relapses as Agger.}

He's back in training but wont prob wont be ready for a couple of weeks.

There's no way Agger will be playing for a while yet. Bruised / broken ribs are so painful that it wrecks even if you just cough.

hey LFC FANS.................

i have a bad feeling kk will continue with the same 11 he played against wolves for the everton game......

in my opinion...........its NAIVE.........to continue playing adam alongside lucas...as he is a complete liability when we are defending cos he cant tackle and he is very slow...and lucas does 2 jobs.......
i honestly believe he will be great if we play with lucas and another centre mid..and then adam....

im sure he will play henderson...(i have nothing against him)..i just feel maybe hes not being used well on the right..hence the rubbish performances...and thus FRUSTRATING the hell out of me

i think the majority want kuyt bellamy suarez on at the sametime.......
i just hope we dont play 442.........that is the biggest concern i have...playing that formation with the 11 he seems to like...against ANY TEAM

any thoughts eds...

I actually want both Carroll and Kuyt to start the game.

Carroll upfront, Suarez to his left and Kuyt to his right. Gerrard in Right Central Midfield, Lucas in the Central area and Adam in the Left Central Midfield.

Adam and Gerrard would provide brilliant passing to link up the play, Lucas will break up Everton's play. If Carroll plays like he did against Wolves, I think he'll score.

Carrol Suarez partnership start working. but I want Gerrad start with them.

A msg to jonson6, some of the replys you got on the Rangers page wasn't from Rangers fans. It's the smeltic fans pretending to be Rangers fans. It happens all the time on our site. Ed014 had to delete the whole post and replys. Just to let you know youse are all welcome on the Gers site.
Shuggie {Ed001's Note - it was me that deleted it, I got fed up of deleting the abusive replies.}

What actually happens on the Rangers page is that a Rangers fan says something other Rangers fans disagree with and he/she is called a Celtic fan. The same happens on the Celtic page. Each set of supporters is totally paranoid with many unable to engage in any sort of debate, even with others who support the same team. In other words, they're so stupid and blinkered that they can't believe that all fans of one team don't have the same opinions.

The Bookie

Don't worry mate - you've come to the right place; none of that ever happens here ; )

JRG

JRJ that sarcastic remark automatically makes you a blue nose or a mank lol
I was slated for saying 4th place is our main goal this year, hard to have a proper chat about football on here without the kids or intellectually lacking kicking off lol

MIKEY

To the bookie
you say all old firm fans are all the same. do you know how stupid and blinkered you are ?
by the way this is a banter page. why not
go and google banter and find out what it means.

Obviously not all of them, but a majority are unfortunatley like that.

I am neither stupid nor blinkrered, just making an observation of what it's like on the Old Firm pages. You're the one who won't leave a name, can't use punctuation and came on here to insult someone who makes an observation: maybe you should take a look at yourself , especially before you call anyone stupid.

I hope you googled 'banter' - you don't really get it, do you?

The Bookie

To the bookie
i just made an observation just like yourself. did your mum and dad call you the bookie then? why are you on here crying about an insult. you pulled up that rangers fan for calling someone a celtic fan, oops i was that celtic fan he was replying to. i will leave to think about it stupid.

Ok guys who would you rather have out of Eriksen and Gotze and why??

MJ

Gotze as he is an overall better player and can play on the right where eriksen can't really

Gotze by miles. He is quite exceptional. I have been watching him since he played in U17 champonships. Must say, I liked him alot and he has improved a bit too much after that. Though any of these would be class. Don't 4get gaston Ramirez. He is quite good, too. YNWA

Goetze dominates the game much more than eriksen and is more consistent. also he is doing this in a better league. eriksen is very gd player but goetze is already showing to be a great player.

Lots of discussions on here of late in regards to the stadium. Will we regenerate Anfield? Or will we build a new stadium?

If we build a new stadium we are going to need a naming rights partner. If we regenerate Anfield, we could keep the name Anfield or change the name to help with the building costs, etc.

If we regenerate Anfield, then we can only go up to about 65,000 tops. Is this going to be enough for both now and the future? Or is this a short term solution? Macca, who I trust as said this is the option we will take, also what one of the ED's did I believe.

If we build a new stadium, we can build a 65,000 seated stadium that will enable us to generate it to around 80,000 as and when required. I think that is the amount we are able to go up to with out adding transport links, right?

The other option is to ground share with Everton. This could produce more income for the naming rights as it will be the home of one of the best clubs in Europe and a premier league club. If this is the case what would Everton contribute to the build? I can remember reading something about this could well be included in the docks redevelopment.

John W Henry has already said about the cost of adding 15,000 more seats and spending 300 million to do that is not financially feasible.

Is ground share with our neighbours an option?
I hope not.

Is transforming Anfield in to a 60,000 capacity stadium an option? I believe it could be, but is it a long term solution? I'm not convinced.

Is a brand new stadium an option? I believe it could be however, we already know what Henry has stated about 15,000 extra seats.

My questions to the Ed and fellow supporters is;

How much would it cost
to add the transport links to enable us to have say a 75,000 seated stadium?

Isn't there a old railway line that could be re opened to allow us to do the above?

Do you think we would sell that many tickets?

What ever the out come, I believe our owners will do what's right for the club.

In FSG I trust.

TIZER RED
YNWA {Ed001's Note - you know the only thing stopping a regeneration of Anfield being 80, 90 or 100k, is the infrastructure surrounding the area. That can be worked on while increasing the size of the ground, until it is capable of handling more. The advantage of that is that the whole area benefits from the regeneration. All it would take is time, but it would take years of work to increase the ground up to that sort of size and it can be done as and when the finances allow it. Whereas a new ground requires a huge sum of money invested in one lump sum, that would require us to take on a mortgage similar to Arsenal's.}

I think there is good reason to actually put 'just' 15,000 seats and increase the capacity to 60,000. First off, Anfield already produces more noise than Old Trafford and The Emirates Stadium which both seat 75,000 people. Adding 15,000 more supporters to the stand will make Anfield even louder than it already is as well as fulfill the fans wishes of staying put at Anfield.

RenegadeRed

Noise won't pay the players wages mate

MIKEY

I thought Emirates was 60,000?

So is it just the council that's stopping us from doing Anfield up ED? And has the transport links got nothing to do with it?

TIZER RED
YNWA {Ed009's Note - The decision is not made either way mate but the infrastructure could not support a huge extension at this time, and thats the main drawback for the board.}

I think alot of people are underestimating the cost of redeveloping anfield and see it as a much cheaper alternative. When in fact it would still cost a huge amount of money and will still require us to find investment. Plus there will not be any naming rights to help pay for it as some fans on here seem to be suggesting and there will also be substantial loss of revenue while the work is being completed.Add to this all the other stumbling blocks to over come just to get to the point where work is able to get underway and you can see why the owners could see the new build as the way forward

Paisley Fagan Kenny Fowler Rush Gerrard Carra etc are the reasons I love LIVERPOOL

But Bill Shankly is the REASON I support LIVERPOOL.

I was born in Belfast and there is alot that connects my home city and LIVERPOOL just like GLASGOW. And Shanklys working class socialist ethos echoed by the KOP meant this was my club. I love LFC more than the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND and while I admire CELTIC I would take the job of Anfield toilet cleaner ahead of playing for the hoops or even my country.

Shankly is remembered never forgotten because he was truely one of us.

Bill Shankly, must say I wasn't even born, when he died as I am 20. but every time I read about him, his quotes, that just feels to be more and more like a scouser. Love Liverpool. YNWA

'89 mate, 10 years old, going home to Belfast through Liverpool in the summer. My dad took me for a dander to Anfield, although I wasn't expecting to see much as there was obviously no football being played. There was a groundsman at the Shankly gates who was good enough to let us in and allowed us to walk around the pitch. I just remember thinking of the legends at that time, Barnes, Rush, Aldo, Beardsley, etc. That did it for me, I was hooked. As Shankly said, "The socialism I believe in is not really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it's the way I see football and the way I see life". I love the Club's ethos, and looking forward to teaching my own daughter that when she's a little older, and sharing with her the history and tradition of the Club and City of Liverpool. I for one will be proud!

Ed any ed or macca tell me this...

How good are Adam Morgan and Connor Coady?

When do you see either breaking through?

I dont see alot of the reserve or academey games when I do they look good but I cant tell(not being a pro scout) how performance at that level indicates their future .

Would love to hear your wisdom.

Dont Buy the Sun {Ed001's Note - it is difficult to judge on youth and reserve games to be fair, but both stand out for me. Coady was superb at U17 level (captaining England to the Euros), he hasn't stood out as much at reserve level, yet, still looks good enough but not like he is head and shoulders above the rest. That is in central midfield, as a defender he is not good, he is clearly not comfortable there at all. I can see him making the step up to be a regular for us, he does clearly have the ability to play at a higher level in my opinion. Morgan even more so, he has come on in leaps and bounds and looks dangerous every time he gets the ball. What I like most about him is that he can create as well as score. I would be very surprised if he didn't make it as a Premier League player. But I think they will probably spend next season out on loan, I don't see either ready for regular first team football for us for a couple of years or so.}

Thankyou Ed. Would you say other players like Barkly etc are being thrown in too early? I just cant judge players in reserve games but yeah Morgan does look like he will be a good player for us.

Thanks Ed

DONT BUY THE SUN {Ed001's Note - it depends a lot on Barkley's personality, if he is driven and ambitious, the taster he has had will spur him on to achieve more. But if he is too full of himself, he will end up like all the other kids that burst onto the scene then think they have made it and just drop down the levels wasting their talents. From what I have been told of Barkley, I expect him to go from strength to strength, but he needs to leave Everton to do so. Everton have issues with their training of youngsters, they over work them, hence the terrible injury problems those that stay suffer. They place so much emphasis on the physical side of the game, it is just too much for a young body to cope with.}

I think Barkley is going to be huge. He'll probably leave Everton either this summer or the next and unfortunately he'll more than likely go to United

If anybody has watched Liverpool over the last year, Carra is like a time bomb waiting to happen , he needs to be replaced his legs are gone, was a great player but liverpool need to more forward without him in the team, Add him to the coaching staff and let help Wilson and Coates

This is the biggest decision Kenny has to make.Paisley did it with Hughes, he and Hansen shared the 6 shirt for a season. then Emlyn moved on.I think carra shouldn't play in the home games as he drags us too deep.The away games where we need to be solid are still right up his street ,but not at home, Coates will be much better playing a higher line at home.

Looks like Mancini has had his run ins with many of his top players. Adam Johnson seems to be in the same boat as Tevez except he is keeping his cool, Johnson could want out of city and most fingers point at a move to Liverpool. Most of the other top 4 sides have his position filled except Liverpool, he is also good mates with Downing and Carroll.

I know there's not much else City can do but i find it funny that as punishment for not playing they have fined Tevez and told him he cant play lol. Also i think this is just the start of City player throwing their toys out of the pram.

LIVERPOOL FC LUNCHTIME NEWS:

Harry Hill has quit his tv programme TV Burp, to become the new manager of Liverpool FC.

John Henry believes a comedian is required to take charge of a bunch of clowns.

Hill convinced Henry he was the man for the job after impressing with his team selection method. As the clowns are all of equally poor standard he has come up with this unique selection procedure:

Who is the best, Kelly or Johnson, Carragher or Coates, Bellamy or Dowling, Carroll or any another inanimate object, Henderson or Mr Bean.....there's only one way to find out....FIGHT!

Mr Hill will remain as host of "You've Been Framed" as Liverpool FC is seen as a blooper gold mine!

In other news, with the Red Sox's catastrophic end to their regular season, John Henry has decided to direct all of NESV's financial support to the Boston club. This means that Liverpool will now have to ground share.
The favoured ground to share is White Hart Lane. Henry, doesn't think its fair that 95% of Liverpool's Anfield support have to travel from London where they are traditionally based. The Spurs ground is also seen as lucky for Liverpool as they only lost by 4 goals, and managed to keep 9 players on the pitch last time out.

Anyway, I'm off to give my lads a pep talk this afternoon, as against Basel we were faulty!

Sir Alex , don't usually reply to your post's , am from Liverpool and know several decent united lad's and everyone of them say the same thing , they hate going to watch united in London because it's full of cockney red's . K96 .

Don't give up the day job

More Breaking News.... The identity of Sir Alex x on the Liverpool Banter page has been established as none other than " Billy No-Mates".

They should have KD fronting the Yesterday Channel.

You're losing your touch Sir Alex a little like your team

I think it's quite amazing that you get more replies to your banter than our own..
On another note I hate Harry Hill, he isn't funny and to be honest neither was that. You can do better than that mr Alex, I'm disappointed in you.

Myk

I have to confess, in a fit of weakness I did go onto the ManU pages today to check out the post suggested by JRG. But guess what I found - the ManU pages are Orange! Are they the orange-devils these days? Maybe you could stick a few oranges on that Devil's fork emblem of yours before telling Sir Alex to stick it when the sun don't shine? It did occur to me that maybe I got it all wrong, it was not orange but a sort of red that was old and mangy and starting to loose it's colour, just maybe some one is trying to tell us all something? Whatever it is, it just goes to prove, there's only one true Reds and that's us!
RedAce.

Lfc's post was a classic. Had me in kinks. How did everyone miss that?

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Fail mate. You have left some good banter on here before - my favourite "LFC fans are as slow as their central defense" - but that pile of words i just read was lame to put it politely. Up your game Alex.

ED14's Note: It was the same IP that posted as the Rangers fan on Liverpool site and then posted as Timalloy. Then they came on Rangers site to point out Timalloy's posts before they were even posted up. It was a Rangers fan up to childish mischief,

Guys I have nor problem with banter, I give it I take
it, my "crime" according to some is that I am a Celtic fan and like Man Utd, but I also have an affinity for Liverpool fans, I was at Parkhead for the Hillsborough memorial game and to this day I have many friends in Liverpool. Life is too short to hate everybody.
My other "crime" is I like a bit of fun, I went on to gers site and had them arguing about Celtic songs on a Rangers site which i thought was funny, some gers fans are now trying silly things against me, instead of giving me banter back.
I will not be on these sites for a while because of work committments, not because petty people cannot handle clean good humoured fun. Timalloy
(often imitated never bettered)

Tim, the post was from you. It was copied and pasted on this site. You still gave your support for the mancs. The only reason they were talking about celtic songs was you said [Grand Old Team] was started by youse when we all know Everton sung it first. YNWA was another song you said celtic sung first when the whole world knows LIVERPOOL did. The other thing was the poznan again you said celtic started it when we all know it was Lech Poznan and Mancs City done it first on these shores. So hop along and join the mancs on there page ya troller Billy No Mates.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy on the Tevez saga: "What he did was completely wrong. I might have left him on the tarmac (in Germany) actually."
Problem with us is we never realize that how lucky we are.

I hope whether ours or any clubs player they realize that we fans give our hard earned money to this game on which players earn millions.
We just want them to respect the shirt.

Red indian

Don't compare him to Suarez. Suarez is miles better than him. Suarez always plays for the team and is a revelation, both on and off the field. He is not bad for the team and his behaviour, except when he's subbed, is exceptional. YNWA
Hoping for a derby win. Keep it up. YNWA

Point taken the Real KB. I see you have a special affinity with Celtic and their supporters. Out of respect for you being an old school fan and being one of the few fans who actually seem to like what i post, and vice versa. I'll say no more on the subject. Jonson6

Lol. Old skool. Am I that old ?
That Celtic match was an awesome day though. A few mates went up there when we had them in the uefa cup a while back too, and had only good things to say. What I like about them, rangers too, is their phenomenal support. Proper football clubs. Sky may have made the SPL a bit of a tv back water but they'll never beat the old firm.
The Real KB

Right, Celtic I'll give you, but Rangers are NOT a proper football club. Their fans are absolute wellends.
They swan around thinking they're the Millwall old boys when in fact they're just a bunch of no-hope mincers that think it's tough to bash innocent bystanders that have just gone to watch a football game.
I know at least 3 separate people that have been slapped up in Glasgow just for being English. And one of them is a fecking WOMAN.
They actually think that they're all William Wallace righting some ancient wrong.
If i saw a rangers fan drowning I wouldn't take my foot off his head.
Duckula {Ed001's Note - are you being serious? It is the Rangers fans that carry English flags, wear England tops etc.}

Call me narrow minded or whatever ed fine, but yes i was being serious. Look, up until a couple of years ago I didn't have a problem with them at all.
But the fact remains rangers fans beat up my female friend and her boyfriend because they were english. AND i know 2 other people that have had that happen to them. Every time by rangers fans.
That's more than enough reason in my book to hold a grudge against them.
Fair enough obviously in real life I wouldn't be drowning someone it's just a figure of speech. But my point is I have a MASSIVE problem with Rangers fans.
Three times is not an anomaly. It is a trend.

Duckula

I just read the first four words of the post and just decided to call you narrow minded anyway.

Henderson always looks nervous to me; It's true he doesn't give the ball away often but he is guilty of playing safety first football.
Adam gives the ball away more than Henderson but then he is not playing safety first football and is actually trying to make things happen. Conclusion Henderson is young and needs more time and introduced more slowly. Adam will look better and be more effective with Gerrard in the team.
Think Kenny has had a good look at everyone now and will start to pick his best team;injuries permitting
kidmillions

Maybe he looks nervous because he knows that he'll get slated by so many supporters, when he, 20 years of age, has a so-and-so game. stop slating him, slate kenny for the way he plays him, or START SUPPORTING YOUR CLUB FULLY.

I agree just pick the best team,if that means leaving 3 of your buys on the bench thats fine,dont worry about the future its now.

Having an opinion doesn't mean I don't support the Club I have supported since 1960 before we won anything!

ed, if Man Utd ,arsenal ,cheskiand citeh get knocked out befor the quarterfinals , will england lose the 4th place to some other country {Ed002's Note - No.}

Looking in to the Future? Think there more likely to give us 5 places.
kidmillions {Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

Ideally we should finish in the top 3; direct entry to the group stages. There is also a danger that if we finish 4th and gooners end behind us but they win the CL, they immediately go in next year with the top 3 & we are out

SingRed

Gooners are not going to win the CL...

Hope, we'd win the ,merseyside derby. To get our season back on track. Best of luck for the whole season, ahead. YNWA

ED2 I think you missed the point of my reply?
The poster said off the top of his head they'll put us down to 3 and I said off the top of my head more likely to put us up to 5. It does not necessarily represent my view on the matter. Putting us up to 5 is unlikely but not as unlikely as putting us down to 3, you see.

Just seen your reply Red Ollie i'm glad for you mate. A place at Oxford or coaching , let me think what i'd do. Thats what a lot of coaching badges are though mate being in a classroom and theory and things. Anyhow i'm going to Cambridge to study pathology, need to work out how hard a a bone can be hit when using a hammer without breaking it, just mundane things like that, joking obviously. Na good look mate, but you've obviously got the brains mate, belive me, from what i've read off you about footy weather i've agreed or not, i can always see your angle though and look at Houllier. He was a school teacher before he went into management. You never know unless you give it a blast one day mate but like i said good luck at Oxford pal. Jonson6

Just a quick word on this Timalloy crack. I haven't seen the banter on the Rangers page. As I said, I've always found him ok on the Celtic page. I'm not really bothered if he's a U*d punter too. Ed007 on the Celtic page is a half manc too, but is a top banter merchant.
Over and above that though, there should always be respect between Celts & Liverpool after the Hillsborough benefit game. Don't forget this was at a time of segregated crowds, footy violence, England v Scotland rivalry etc. But we went up there, mixed in with the crowd, sang YNWA together.
60,000 of their fans turned out. So, I will always have Celtic to my heart for that.
However jonson, you saw what you saw. No apologies needed from you lad. One of our top posters.
Anyway, c'est la vie.

We've had one bad game this season which was the spurs result where we lost with 9 men. Stoke is a tough place to go as proven by utd and chelski but we had a misfortunate penalty decision against us, otherwise that should have been a draw, suarez and henderson both should have scored in that game anyway.
I do think that Kenny needs to integrate henderson more slowly than he is. He's starting too many games where he should be sat on the bench and learning from the experienced players such as Kuyt and now Gerrard.
If we beat Everton and Utd in the next two games then this will put us in a very strong position. The european games are already having a huge impact to utd, arsenal and man city. Confidence levels of these teams will be less than they are due to results and injuries are taking their toll.
It's a long old season and not having europe this season will help us in the long run - i still see us in the top 4 with 2 great cup runs.

I have to tell you all that I for one am very nervous about Saturday's game. This season so far we have looked great when we have the ball and the opposition stands back and let us play our game.

We look awful when the opposition push on and close us down. Spurs did it very well, and showed they were really up for it against us, even Wolves looked very dangerous when they attacked us in the second half last week - they ended up having 51% of the overall possession at Anfield ! Mainly because of the huge amount of space they were allowed in midfield, it was worrying.

Let's face it Everton will attack us from the beginning and will make it a very uncomfortable afternoon for us.

I just don't think we will be able to compete with them in the middle of the park.

If we manage to get a point, I will be more than happy.

KBL

I think (hope) Stevie will start commanding the midfield around again. I agree that we have looked mediocre and lazy at times in midfield this season, but hopefully he will be back to kick them up the arse and get a decent tune out of them..!

You LFC fans, just choose a half decent players name, throw it out there in hope that one of the Ed's has heard of any slight interest from Liverpool.

You'll always be dreamers.

Until the macca post most people thought that a new build was the most likely way forward. however since maccas rumour anyone posting about the new build appears to be ridiculed when the club have confirmed that they are actively seeking naming rights for the new build and have spoken about the extreme difficulties in a redevelopment.Add to this the unrealistic time scale put forward in the macca post is everybody still so sure that a redevelopment is a certain.personaly i hope the macca rumour true as i would hate to see us leave anfield but i fear that a new stadium is a very real possability

Morning mate. I'm gonna defend myself on this one cos I've posted a lot on my thoughts about why i think redevelopment will be the preferred option. But I started posting on this before macca's info. I don't think anyone's got shouted down for posting otherwise. There's been some good debate, notably with Huyton red who put up some plausible info.
My view remains redevelopment, a need to get the council on side, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a naming partner brought in. Say the Coca-Cola stand or something, to ease the costs.
But i could be wrong. Alternative plausible arguments are most welcome.
The Real KB

Thankfully there will only be naming rights for a new stadium.I would hate to see anfield or even part of it being rebranded and i dont believe for a moment it is possible or the owners would consider it.I do however agee that a redevelopment is the way forward.I just feel that with all the problems involved and the likely very long time scale due to all the various appeals it will encounter a new build may be on the horizon.

Is there a possibility of Raheem Sterling putting in a transfer request. Hes not got a chance {Ed002's Note - He is only 16.}

If naming rights can be got for say 200 million , and a new build gives you more seats- 20-30 thousand , with more coprate boxs , more shops , jobs for local people etc i get the feeling most fans want a new build , not that we dont love anfield, but we have watched the club fall behind others for too long , both on and off the field..........lfc

Sorry this post was meant for the 9.51 post.........lfc

for christs sake does any one have anything positive to say about our players and squad. all i hear is carroll this, adam that, henderson this, carra that. get a grip people will ya. you all basically saying that dc and kk havent a clue when it come to football players. i really wish we would support the club not slate it for everything they can. give em a break and let em crack on and play football. merseyside derby this weekend lets get behind em ALL and support our red men. not goin to the match but will be in a bar in liverpool and will give em my all.

dont think some of you what the word support means.

matty b

Well said mate. Ideally we'd be Barca and win all of our games by at least 3 goals but life isn't that simple and believe it or not that would get dull after a while.

Football is a rollercoaster and sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.

a few seasons back we were relying on only two players torres nd gerrard now we rely only on sauarez to win matches . to be honest the way kenny is handling sauarez i doubt he will leave for greener pastures in jan . as for caroll he is not liverpool material for godsake.carra has become too old nd too slow to be in the starting line up. henderson is highly inconsistent. adam is very slow for being an attack minded defensive midfielder. glen jhonson is too injury prone nd i hope we sell him .what all i have said is stastically in front of us . without saurez we are not anywhere near top 6 . with only saurez running alone with no support its highly questionable about top 4 credentials .
