{Editor's Note: Nope. He was due to go to Bayern and it fell through. First call was to Spurs and Levy said yes.}

Well, I can assure that there was not any contact between Bayern and Van der Vaart, even though Van der Vaart begged for the chance to join Bayern (he said in an interview that he would even come if he had to ride a bike to arrive in Munich).

The Bayern officials have stated many times that they did not want Van der Vaart since he is not good enough and that they were only searching for a left-back (but they have not found one yet who is not too expensive). Bayern have Müller and Kroos (two of the biggest talents of German football) on Van der Vaart's position and did not need another attacking midfielder / second striker.

Therefore we Bayern fans were wondering why Redknapp believed that Van der Vaart would go to Bayern. Obviously he fell for a lie.

Was jst Reading the rumours and there are some names flying about I would love to see at our club but I can't see most of them materialising but I do believe van wolfswinkel is a gr8 prospect and worth a chance I'd not bother wiv hamsik at the price they will want we could sign sum1 much better and the cb issue I would persue Taylor or cahill as English cb are best 4 EPL wot u fink

Are you mad Owen Coyle that aint goin a step forward that is defo a step sidewards, Think Roy is starting to lose the plot who are we going to get in noone is going to come to us Rafa has left us in a complete mess and poor roy is left to pick up the peaces. There is no point in shouting for KING kenny to take the job cos i want to remember him as a kop legend say it all goes wrong for him, its been a 15+ years since he has been in management times have changed. Can everyon stop crying to bring rafa back it aint gonna work the only reason we are calling fro him is because the other manager Anceliotti, Guardiolo an Jose Mourinho aint gonna come so rafa is 4th choice plus he can't be that good 6 mpnths with a side that won a cup treble with a managerial god ands he comes along with the same team but with a few additions and recks it what an idiot.

Hi guys - follow ur site a lot and think its great.

i don't claim to have any inside source or walk a dog in the same park as glen johnson but do follow the club and regulary go to the games and talk to other fans.

everyone talks about this warchest roy will get. . i think its more likely the yonks will allow roy a small budget to put his mark on the team as to be fair he never spent their money wisely or poorly in the summer. They have employed Comolli to bring in players in the long term but realistically roys going to stay in the job until the summer.

I think he will get to bring in 2 fairly cheap players but have to move 1 or 2 out. My feeling is Roy will look at players which can come in and have an impact now rather than need a bedding in period. They will be premier league players and jarvis or young (small amount of cash and babel or ngog loan) are the likely names for the wing position and the striker between carlton cole or roque santa cruz are the 2 names.

These will be players who arent going to break the bank in terms of transfer fee or wages but will give roy a better squad to work with and attempt to finish top 4 in order to save his job.

Comolli is likely to be going hard for young players with lots of potential players and long term contracted players.

Rami
Santon
Carroll
Suarez
Hazard
A Johnson
Lukaku
Banega

all these won't happen but the ones he will be attempting to purchase at the right price and sell them the Nesv Plan.

We already have a pool of potentially talented kids already

Shelvey
Pacheco
Kelly
Wilson
Robinson
Eccleston
Suso
Wisdom
Ayala
Ngog
Amoo
Sterling

I think youll sell youngsters either come through or be loaned out to prove their worth or will be moved on as Liverpool Attempt to produce a line of talented players breaking into the 1st squad each year.

Why would liverpool sell kuyt. One of the best squad players we have got. He's only behind gerrard and carra for effort. Do some of the people on here watch liverpool play?

because he is 30 has a marketable value beyond his value to the first team, isn't good enough to be a leading premiership striker or a world class right midfielder. whilst he gives a 100% every game - the opportunity to cash in can't be missed for as you said a squad player

Alex Ferguson is 69 and he ain't looking like he is going to retire soon!

FT {ed's note - Fergie hasn't publicly proclaimed his unwillingness to work in club football. I am glad you aren't choosing a successor to Roy.}

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Actually neither did Hiddink.

His agent stated the reason he would not consider the Liverpool job was because he had already taken over as Turkey boss and that it was not his nature to break agreements.

Valencia, Real Madrid, Real Betis, PSV Eindoven and Chelsea hardly indicate a reluctance to work in club football.

It seems that I would be a lot better choosing our new manager than some!

I've just watched Tottenham there and I'm convinced they are a very beatable side. Yes they are good going forward with pace but Villa had plenty of chances. A good side would beat them as Man Utd do consistently. I'm just frustrated we have a Manager who has little belief in our side to push us past the half way line. Because I really feel we are as good as any team other than Arsenal Man Utd and Chelsea.

Petrescu, Puel, O'Driscoll! ! ! !

Have you researched these guys' managerial records? They have achieved nothing of any note in football and you would put them in charge of our great club - are you mad?

I suggest Hiddink with JC as player/ assistant manager for 10 years and then JC takes over.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

There is a rule regarding adequate pitch protection form the elements - most notably under soil heating that the Premier League expects all clubs to have . Only Fulham and Blackpool do not have under soil heating and Fulhams excuse relates to the Johnny Hyanes stand being a listed building . Blackpool may suffer from fixture congestion before the season is out .

Roy hodgson was a cheap replacement for Rafa Benitiz, the option to bring in a manager who had won virtually nothing to a club such as liverpool was a no-brainer, his wage for 75% cheaper then benitiz.
It was alleged at the time that liverpool went after Martin O`neill but he wouldn`t leave villa, the american owners of Villa heard of this illegal/ legal approach and decided to pull o`neills reigns in and ask him what the hell was occurring, this was the begining of his demise at villa (wanted funds/ owners told him to get lost) and eventually he got the bullet.
It`s no surprise to see he has taken no other jobs since then, he was always Liverpools no 1 choice and i can see him there maybe early next year regrdless on how Hodgson get on in the league.
Players rumoured to leave are Torres in the summer to Real Madrid with Kaka going to Inter, Babel going to West ham on loan, Jovanovic to Shakter Donesk and Agger to Wolfsburg/ Milan.

I didn't see the game, just the highlights and goals earlier, taraabt seemed to be having one of those days again, when everything he touches turns to gold! i no he goes missing in games sometimes, but he seems to be lighting the championship up, and has to be a target, before he attracts the attention of manure or chelsea. i no QPRdont need the money but maybe the player would be able to force the move.

Guys, we have to have patience with Joe Cole. We al know what his high potential is by how good he has been in the past. He is a hard worker and is just a bit rusty at the moment - give him time and his qualities will shine through. .

I don't have a giant list of players i'd like us to sign i'd just like the players we do have to be allowed to play football. It is only through playing better football that we'll move back into the top four and once again be challenging for the titles we should be competing for. We have players more than capable of playing good football we've all seen it but i think we've also seen that under our current manager the chance we'll see much more is slim to none. Mr Hodgson should not be allowed to either influence our recruitment of new players, our style of play or football philosophy anymore than he already has as in every respect he has failed our great club and its supporters. Please sack Mr Hodgson, once we are playing football again we can properly assess the players we have and then decide who needs to leave and what we need to bring in.

NESV last week began sourcing funding for a redevelopment of Anfield. They are looking for funding up to 65% of the project through a loan backed by the NESV group.

This does not mean a) they have finalised their decision about what they are going to do but have started to look at a potential source of funds b) they aren't doing the same as the G&H but potentially borrowing for LFC's benefit.

Hi ed. Just wondering of u could answer a question? I know you have said that your insider leaks have dried up since the takeover. . . But. . . Do you have a idea at all about what's going on an transfer targets? I noticed someone asle about nzogbia and Honda earlier and you stated I'm sure it will all become clearer soon. Now was this because the window is opening, or do you have and idea?

Thanks and great site

I've seen a few rumours on the internet and a few i would love to see at liverpool. .
We should be looking for a striker first and we've been linked with Edin Dzeko, and van wolfswinkle, both top class in my opinion but we've also been linked with the useless carlton cole, which with Hodgson in charge i think is the more likely though he would be a dreadful signing.
I think we need a quality winger I'd love to see Bryan Ruiz in the prem quality winger we were supposed to be linked with last summer.
Also a new left back, and I'd look no further than Fabio Contrao, I believe that could be reasonable as Merieles could put in a good word. .
i'd get rid of babel (not good regularly) jovanovic konchesky, and poulsen . .
I've also heard Johnson i supposed to be going, i think im the only liverpool fan who doesn't think hes good always loses the ball. . but that's an opinion. . so we would need to replace him so either bring in a decent right back (cant think of any at the moment) or bring Kelly through.
This is the most i've ever typed on anything and i doubt anyone would be apsed reading it all but thanks anyways for reading ;)

Hi everyone, I'm a die hard liverpool fan from india. Just wanted to say until roy is at our club, we are gonna be stuck up in mid table. He plays unattractive football, negative tactics and to the media he is a joke. He's a good guy but not a good manager. My view is to sack roy now and appoint Sean O'Driscoll of Doncaster Rovers as an interim manager, it will not take a fortune to get him and plays good football. He surely can't do any worse than roy. Give him a chance if it works, give the job on permanent basis. if he fails we should in the summer try to get Andre Villas Boas, Jurgen Klopp or Didier Deschamps. My pick would be Andre Villas Boas. Then in the summer there should be a massive clearout of the squad(i.e., babel, skrtel, jovanovic, poulsen, konk, etc. ) and buy some young and real talents for the future and a few experienced ones.
To the rumours I've heard that we have made contact with Rosenborg for Markus Henriksen, if its true he can surely fill alonso's shoes in a year or two.
To the ed. what do u think of my view. and I read on this site about racism in liverpool towards the asians a few weeks ago. .Is it reaaly true.? anyways, this is a great site ed, i've been checking the site everyday for almost 3 years. Good job.

RedIndian YNWA

{Editor's Note: Thank you for your post - it would not be possible to take someone such as Sean O'Driscoll as an interim manager, so expect Roy Hodgson to see the season out. As for any incidents in Liverpool toward Asians I am afraid I cannot help. Society and sport are improving their attitudes in this are generally - but I guess there is always further to go.}

Anyone been watching LFC TV's 60 minute interview with Lucas Lieva?

I get the distinct feeling that he's not too keen on some of his colleagues. The interviewer (can't remember her name), seemed to give him several leading questions - which appeared to be fishing for praise for Gerrard & Carragher but on each occasion Lucas praised someone else. He even praised Xabi!

Maybe I reading too much into this but I don't think Lucas actually likes the skipper or his understudy. You may say who cares but it says a lot about what is going on in and around the club at present.

Amazing how Roy rejected the chance to sign VDV and brought poulson and konchesky. Roy is awful in the transfer market! !

{Editor's Note: VdV was offered to Liverpool at around £18M - not at what Spurs played.}

He was offered to spurs for 18 million too. They got it down to 8. We could of done something similar. Would of been great behind Torres.

{Editor's NOte: Actually they said no to £18 Million too. Real Madrid went back on the last day of the window as part of a fire sale - that is all.}

Unbelievable amount of speculation on this site re who we're going to sign! The media are also having a field-day with rumours of Deschamps coming in as manager and Dzeko up front (luvvly if it was true).
Whilst I was sticking pins in my Roy Hodgson effigy (a pressie to myself) I was wondering about cockneys or London-based players/ managers coming to Liverpool and came to the conclusion that we're better off without the soft southern she*p!
Roy "the deluded" Hodgson is the obvious cockney disaster, but there's a pretty long list of pearly-king failures at Anfield. . . . . . . . . .
Joe Cole (always hated him 'cos he'd score against us in big games but I never rated him as a team-player)
Glen Johnson (over-rated as a defender and really should be used as a wide mid but at £18m plus phenominal wages we deserve more from this big-headed cockney t* t)
Jonjo Shelvey (young kid with a possibly bright future but needs to stop thinking he's a natural replacement for Gerro. . needs to get real)
Jamie Redknapp (alias Rodney) was an OK midfielder and good at free-kicks but as a pundit does LFC no favours at all. This injury-prone cockney wa*ler won't be remembered fondly as it goes my son.
Neil "Razor" Ruddock was a capable (and sometimes brilliant) defender but obviously consumed too many jellied eels and drank too much Directors Bitter. He can now be seen in Panto at Southend and virtually any reality t.v. programme going!
John Scales. . . .average
Paul Walsh. . . .average
Julian Dicks. . . below average
David James. . .vastly overrated but not the worst
Michael Thomas. . . bought on the strength of a historical goal against us but carp.
Sammy Lee. . not a cockney but may as well be.
Graeme Souness. .as a player he was a legend for us but was an absolutely carp manager(started off at Tottenham. . . I think!)
Konchesky. . .lovely family but sh*ep footballer
Lucas Leiva (not really a cockney but always changes at Gatwick from Brazil)
I'm struggling now but I'm sure the reason we are turning to carp is down to that there London.
I hate cockerneez but I can't blame them for wanting to come to the greatest city on the planet.
We are to blame for thinking these limp-wristed Del-Boys would ever add anything to our Club!
Don't get me wrong. . there are loads of Southern players that would've fitted right in at Anfield.
Bobby Moore, Liam Brady, Geoff Hurst, . . . . .Well, anyway, my point is that we should totally ignore London and it's surrounding empire in order to strengthen our squad. Let's return the "old ways" of recruiting players who can gel as a team. Players who speak the same language. Players who would die for each other on the field of battle. Players good enough to win away at Bolton and also to come back from 3-0 down in a European final.
We need LIVERPOOL players!
Anyone can sign up and coming African "talent" just by having a computer or a telly.
Anyone can recommend "the next big thing" just by reading what everyone says on forums or in the Daily papers.
Anyone can manage a Premiership football club because everyone does it daily on the x-box or whatever.
We fans who are over 40 might feel inclined to resort to traditional ways of thinking. Call us old-fashioned but we do remember what it was like to boringly win every game or at least expect to. We remember having a manager who expected nothing less than winning everything. Aim for the skies. Oh, memories.
The current manager has mediocre expectations and under his charge we'll never perform at anything like the level we deserve to.
His assistant, Sammy Lee, is completely unsuited to the level of football we aspire to.
There are eighteen paid members of the medical staff. I'm no expert but . . . . . wth?
The cost of going to a game has become ridiculous. £40-plus quid, £10 to park your car, petrol plus sausage and chips, programme/ golden goal ticket.
Not cheap. . . . 'specially if you take your kids.
So the least you might expect is that the people who's wages you're paying put in a bit of effort. After all, pounds per minute, the cost of attending a game equates to a night at the opera or a Lady Gaga concert and I'd much rather watch Gaga than Konchesky!
I won't bang on about the cost of a game but isn't that what it's all about? ?
I really resent being mugged by LFC just because I can't help being a supporter. I can't help begrudging certain players my hard-earned cash. I won't say Poulsen 'cos he's had enough stick but there are loads who need to "step up to the plate" !
I'll be honest . . .I'm extremely gissed. Well, it's cjyistmas!
Live each day day as though it was your last and 1 day youll be right. . . . . . . . . . . .mofo. . . . . . . . . . what time's the footy on?. . . . . . .
Anfieldpete

You obviously have a problem with everyone but yourself!
I have supported LFC for as long has I can remember and I am a Cockney , so take offence to your comments above. Fairplay these players may not have made it at LFC but it's all about 11 players not just one.

So everyone who was not born north of Watford will ultimately never be good enough for LFC in your view!

Just remember NOT every poster/ supporter on here comes from Liverpool but we all support the same team. So please think about what you post has comments can offend and turn supporters off from coming on here and posting their views/ rumours.

Ed sorry for the rant.

Live each day day as though it was your last and 1 day youll be right. . . . . . . . . . . .mofo. . . . . . . . . . what time's the footy on?. . . . . . .

Ed, I visit this site 2 or 3 times a day and you get some good and some bad views but maybe it's time it was pointed out that "Rafa's team" is currently 10th in the Prem and "Roy's Team" just lost at home to West Ham, what does Roy have to say about that TPA

{Editor's Note: I don't really understand the point. Liverpool had a poor season last year and finished in seventh place. So far, they are having a similar season this year. It is not "Rafa's Team" or "Roy's Team" - it is simply where the club are at present. There was a lot of turmoil over the summer; the fans certainly have not helped the situation given their dissatisfaction with the owners, management, players etc.. I think now we just need to ride out this year and hope that someone will come in as a new manager in the summer who can settle everyone down and take the club forward.}

@ Mr. "Whats your source then clever boy?"

I promise you know i am a different guy, the ed will clarify that for you if necessary i'm sure, however, why do foolish people such as yourself continue to ask for the name of people's sources.
What answer do you expect. Sources ar secret and should stay that way, otherwise there'd be no point in a source, everyone could just ask them or Mr Henry would 'neutralise' them (sorry for the euthamism).
The best answer you can expect t this question is a crude joke like "daddies" or "heinze" !

Written by Steven Charles, Liverpool in the mailbox in Football365.com. . . I read it and believed it to be reasonable. . . . Have removed his request for the reinstatement of Rafa but the Hodgson comments are awesome. . . . . . .

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Liverpool are in a mess on the pitch. Rafa's sixth and final season may have been his worst at Liverpool, resulting in the club finishing a lowly seventh, but that 'lowly' position is one that has painfully eluded Hodgson so far this season. How many different teams have occupied a place in the top seven at some time or other this season?

Much advice is being directed at the owners from fans, ex players and the media, but this advice can not be ignored, Do not give Hodgson any money! If we have to keep him until the end of the season, so be it, but only with the players he has. Liverpool will not be relegated, we will not reach the top four, we do not want another season in the Europa League and so Hodgson can not win or lose anything for Liverpool. The only negative if Hodgson stays, providing a potential managerial target does not go elsewhere, is that we have to sit through the worst football since the Souness years and the weekly interviews that make you want to kick your television set in, but if we all know that change will happen at the end of this season, I am sure we can just about bear him, safe in the knowledge that NESV have not wasted any money

This means we can all see the back of Hodgson, a man nobody wanted in the first place, will give the fans some optimism for the second half of the season and gives * * the chance to change a few wavering minds before moving on to a new club in the Summer.

There will be those who say Hodgson is a great manager with a proven record, but can somebody send this in please because I can not find anything outside of Scandinavia and apart from a single season a decade ago, his most recent success previous to that came in the 1988-1989 season, the same year when David James signed as a trainee for Watford and Alan Shearer started his first full season as a professional footballer. But, if he is so great, then Inter can take him back or England can replace Capello with him or Ferguson can make him United's number two, ready for when he goes. In short, if he is so good, start a campaign to get him into your club.

I totally agree we need to give joe cole a chance the lad is a well liked playeer, i no some chelsea fans and they are gutted joe cole has gone, joe cole is right for liverpool he is a skillfull player with lots of talent which was proven at chelsea with a few league titles and F.A cups. ok he has been injured and had a stop start season all he needs is a run of games and to be played in the right position behind Torres not on the left had side we he has got to come back and help out with the defending. COME ROY PULL YOUR FINGER OUT.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

If he was that good in that position, then one of either Ancelotti/ Hiddink/ Grant/ Scolari/ Mourinho/ Ranieri would have played him in that position. . . . .

He think its his best position. . . . .IT IS NOT HIS BEST position. . .

But he can still contribute. . . . .

Napolis president himself stated that he rejected an offer around 30 million from Inter Mailand so stop playing the smart ass.

Even if some won't realize it in their deluded Liverpool stance. . Liverpool isn't the "best horse" in Europe and England anymore (since a long time) and players with the class of Hamsik have a lot better options than Liverpool.

I acknowledge that you have a great history but in present you belong to the "second tier" of the top clubs, if at all. Clubs like Madrid, Barcelona, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter and Bayern are easily in front of you at the moment and will have a big advantage if they want the same player.

I know that noone of the Liverpool fans wants to see that and admit that i'm right. You even want a coach back who squandered millions after millions with the result of your gettink kicked out of the top 4 and failed miserably at Inter.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Bayern and Milan were in UEFA Cup not so long ago. . .
Did it stop Ribery and Ronaldinho from joining them? ?

Also, why did Krasic join (and Dzeko wants to) join Juventus when they were in Serie B 2-3 yrs back and in Europa cup right now? ?

This brings us to the conclusion that you lack PERSPECTIVE. . . Grow Up. . Things are not that straightforward as they seem. . . .

firstly ha Glen told me that he's not going anyway ( hes a pretty cool guy to be honest)
Jonjo Shelvey is as good as Jack wilshire and very nice lad too.
Nathan told me that he is probably going on loan in Jan or the summer because he's been told by Roy they are pushing for a 1st team striker/ winger.

Look we all would love to see the likes of Aguero, Dzeko and Messi at anfield, but it's not going to happen. Now this season (without a major turnaround) is turning into a write off surely players who we want to have a future at the club such as Pacheco, Amoo, Shelvey and Kelly amongst others should be given some playing time. It's all well and good throwing them in all together in the carling cup or Europa league but they would benefit so much more being blooded with the first team. I honestly can't see us having a better time to do this and if we gave it the rest of the season at least it would give us a clearer indication of what we need in the summer. Just my opinion but I just can't see the point in wasting time on the likes of Kuyt and Babel any longer.

Very good site. This is my first post here. If I owned Liverpool I would want to get back into the champions league ASAP. Buying very good players in January would give Roy the best chance at either proving himself or showing the owners he can't manage at this high level. Getting into the C/ L this season would make it easier to get excellent players (and a manager if needed) to join in the summer. Why the reluctance to buy big in January? Buying big in the summer postpones C/ L football for another year.

Do you go by the name of Albert Einstein? Because you're theory is just genius.

Liverpool Rumours
Japan will play Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria in the preliminary Group B competition, starting from January 7 to 29. The final taking place on the 29th assuming Japan make it this far. Japan manager Alberto Zaccheroni on Friday announced his squad for next month's Asian Cup, with CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda chosen to lead the Blue Samurai in Qatar. Would this deter Honda from signing for us in the Jan window as another chunk of the season would be gone and with direction we are going, who knows who will be here next season (for definate) and this could again deter targeted players from making a decision to join LFC, whether in January or for next term. Whilst I appreciate the need for secrecy in deals being made it would certainly boost the fans belief and morale if certain "key players" publicaly stated their desire to be at anfield, at least for the duration of their contract. This again would stop the dreaded anti -LFC journos and web sites from promoting rumours

Regarding the managers slot a trawl through the web soons indicastes there are not many "available" managers of a required standard who would meet the new owners criteria for taking the club forward. Again this is not to say that there are not managers who might be "available" at the end of their current league season. We all know Roy is not the owners choice and NESV have stated their disbelief at the length of term contracts that have been given to "certain players". Quote RH from todays papers:

Roy Hodgson warns Liverpool's fat cats to choose if they want a career or big money.
Liverpool's rebuilding plans are being threatened by the refusal of several out-of-favour stars to walk away from fat contracts.

Stars like Ryan Babel, Milan Jovanovic and Joe Cole will not go unless their Anfield salaries are matched elsewhere.

The situation is frustrating manager Roy Hodgson and director of football strategy Damien Comolli, who want to free up space in the club's 25-man Premier League squad.
It may even explain Hodgson's extraordinary comment last week that Cole was not his original choice of signing.

The 29-year-old England international has struggled at Anfield and is wanted on loan for the rest of the season by his former club West Ham. Hamburg and Genoa are interested in Jovanovic, while Babel turned down moves last summer to Birmingham, Tottenham and West Ham because they could not match his £70,000-a-week wage.
Cole's friend, Glen Johnson, would also like to leave after falling out with Hodgson but he is struggling to find another club prepared to offer the £120,000 a week he is paid.

It leaves Liverpool in a difficult position to reshape the squad and owners NESV are furious that previous managing- director, Christian Purslow, awarded several long-term contracts in the dying embers of the Tom Hicks-George Gillett regime.

Cole was given a four-year contract worth £90,000 a week last summer while 29-year-old Jovanovic arrived on a three-year deal at £60,000 a week.

If neither goes, it adds up to a staggering financial commitment of £27million.

Now i know this is paper talk but the comments are
attributed as from RH. Unfortunately Roy focuses on players that were not of his choice, but dare i mention Konchesky and Poulson who were his choice.

Now before i forget this is a rumour site i should add that Mick MaCarthy and Sam Allerdyce were so far up the "Manure" managers backside they could in fact see Gary Neville shoes. . . . . . .

Bentley is a good technical player. Thats where it stops. His biggest downfall is his lack of pace and workrate. The first thing we need is oodles of pace. We have the technical players but need that extra dimention.

Paul YOU ARE RIGHT
he is the last thing we need now, we are slow enough in our build up we need a different type of player, no other team buys wingers who are slow, like riera, and maxi, we need a pacey skillfull wide player there are plenty out there buy one asap, and a striker and we will soon climb the table, bob paisleys skids

Ok i am tired of seeing the cry for rafa to come back as manager.

2) rafa chaged the squad and guess what, no trophies.
3) rafa was sacked because his planning was poor, just liked he did at LFC. did not even lasted one full season
4) rafa took over from J.M who won serie A, champions league. and with almost the same side the team inter is in 6 or 7 position.
now why you fools want a looser like rafa. he is to dumb to be in football. he likes to have alot of dead stock with him.
5) R.H is going to be given a fair chance to build he squad. so we should all be behind him and the team.

COME ROY PULL YOUR FINGER OUT.

play the players in their proper positions.

As for signings their is a alright squad of players their not fantastic but good enough, we need a striker a defender and a couple of wingers.

If we don't win about 7-0 today Roy has to go. Blackpool are without Basham, Adam and Gilks and are already poor anyway.

Hello fellow reds, I have noticed 1 or 2 pro hodgson emails popping up lately on this site, now if these are genuine reds then fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but of all the ammunition I have to argue against the pro hodgson posters I only have to remind you of his comments about Joe Cole last week, the man is a complete IDIOT. He bangs on about his 34 years in management and wealth of experience yet time after time after time when talking to the media he expresses opinions that a first season rookie manager wouldn't say, and this is putting to one side what has been happening on the pitch since he took charge. Stick to rubbing your boat race on the pitch Roy you tactical genius am sure those subliminal messages your giving the players will pay off 1 day. GO NOW CO-CO AND TAKE YOUR SQUIRTY FLOWER GREEN WIG AND OVER SIZED SHOES WITH YOU.

Liverpool Rumours
I'm sold on the rumours of Park Chu Yong from Monaco. The kid can play and could play the same role the other 2 South Korean's play for ManUtd and Bolton. He doesn't mind coming of the bench and is creative with the ball and has an eye for goal! 7 million pounds is nothing for a player that is needed off the bench (our bench is horrible since the loss of Yossi).

Another positive rumour has been Adam Johnson. He's english, has flair, passes very well, scores goals and is frozen out at ManCity (not sure why). I hope everyone notices what others are. .Stevie G is 30, Carra is 30 plus and Kuyt is no spring chicken as well! We needed this player when I ranted about him when he was with Middlesborough.

I don't like Keisuke Honda, nor Ricky VW, however Keisuke is not a bad option. He's quick and could score even though he's not lighting it up in Russia! Now getting wingers and moving Kuyt to Striker is a wonderful option. I'm surprised by many saying N'Zogbia is not good enough. He's always in the run of the play, pushing the ball forward and has a very good eye for putting the ball in the box for strikers. Can score as well. Another winger is needed that can cover both wings and even push the ball into the box with creativity. Arda Turan is the MAN! Turkish Idol that has "red blood of LFC" in his heart! When a player plays for his desired club they usually do well! (Keane wasn't given a fair chance. Rafa benched him after fabulous performances. .Made no sense. ie: Arsenal. He also scored 7 goals before Xmas break! Do we have anyone with 7 goals at this point before xmas break?? NOPE). Even a player of Bryan Ruiz (could be a little light weight) who plays up front and on both sides can be a usefull addition to the squad?

I hear Fofana is in the rumour mill! Lads, take a look at this kid. Really plays like Viera and is huge! Wish we spent the 10 mill on Kenwyne Jones during the summer. He's havoc for Prem defenders to deal with. That would surely free up Nando and reduce the pressure he feels!

Rumoured OUTS:
Babel, Agger, Aquilani, Konchesky, Poulsen, Jovanovic and Insua
(Don't freek out about the weakness of LB. If some of us actually watched the reserves, Robinson and Mavinga could move into the prem right away! If Arsene could trust youth and Alex can play youth then we need to trust a position. With a strong Midfield and good run of play with wingers, we can afford to play a yongster! Even Kelly can play on that wing with Aurelio until the summer!)
Mata not coming, unless a team offers him 150K a week, Taiwo already says he wants to stay in France, Contraeo has a HUGE buy out clause and Reto Ziegler could be a very interesting option

SIM THE RED
(Dissagree with any of these? What do you think of our Weak bench and suring up the wings!)

LFC and fat cats? when you sign free players expect to pay huge wages because they came free. Unfortunately we sign names and NOT talented players. Rejects make it to lfc and we pay them to sit on the bench. Sad but that's poor management and nothing to do with lfc supporters. Thats why quality is better than quantity and the age really matters. How can you sign close to 30 and expect the younger players to come through.
Finally RH don't pick on straws, you career at LFC is limited and you know it. All you are doing is creating disunity in the team now.

Why do people insist that Aguero wouldn't want to play for us? His current team is already out of the Europa League and most likely won't feature in next years Champions League. They are currently 6th in the Spanish league and by no means lighting the world on fire. He has two good friends already at the club in Maxi and Torres. Liverpool is a massive club and he has said he is a fan in the past.

If we are willing to pay his transfer and high wages of course there's a great chance he'd like to play for us. There's no reason we can't attract big players if we are prepared to pay what they are worth.

Bentley is a good technical player. Thats where it stops. His biggest downfall is his lack of pace and workrate. The first thing we need is oodles of pace. We have the technical players but need that extra dimention.

I have read old transfer targets of Roy Hodgson, a list of 10 players: Brede Hangeland, Fabio Coentrao, Mesut Ozil, Didier Drogba, Steven Defour, Steven Pienaar, Andres Iniesta, Carlton Cole, James Milner, Luke Young.

The only good player, one who would be a brilliant signing: Andres Iniesta

I say that they sack Roy Hodgson and get a new manager in, new start, he's past it! I'm not sure if Rafa is a possibility because of the players he buys and the defensive strategy mess. If he were to be manager of LFC again, he would have to have agreements with the owners about transfers / get the best players in and asked to form a more attacking approach, would be good.

More:
Klaas Jan Huntelaar has been a target in the past. A brilliant signing he would be too. What about getting Xabi Alonso back at LFC? Kun Aguero would be a great signing also. Luis Suarez, he will develop into being a big name in football as an attacking midfielder or striker, or simply both. One player with a lot of potential is Angel Di Maria - world class, will always be. We need 2 fast defenders who are perfect at accurate tackling. No youngsters in defence. The Hungarian winger mentioned on the page is a good one by the sounds of it, he would be a great signing also. Welliton is a good option. Alexis Sanchez is a top player too. If he wants to play for us he'd be fluent! What about bringing Sissoko back? how is he playing nowadays? Also 1 or 2 top quality English players would be good for the team. Matty Taylor should be signed if he is interested. Aaron Lennon as a winger = a good / very good signing he would be. Gabriel Agbonlahor - Of course! He needs to be signed. 100% top quality player!

A new striker:
Kun Aguero
Klaas Jan Huntelaar
Luis Suarez
Alexis Sanchez
Gabriel Agbonlahor

Midfield:
Luis Suarez
Alexis Sanchez
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Blazas Dzudseck
Matty Taylor
Mohamed Sissoko
Angel Di Maria
WESLEY SNEIJDER

Defence:
2 Fast Defenders

Goalkeeper:
Iker Casillas (unsignable)
A goalkeeper with more eccentricity than Reina, and who is very good at one on ones and just accurate and fast and very good with movement
Reina could be kept though, he's a very good goalkeeper. It's not the money afterall, the one big question is WHO would replace him and be better, I mean much better? It's a big question that.

Transfers:

Out:
Reina £25m minimum
Kuyt £7m
Babel £7m
Aquilani £12m
Meireles £12m
Jovanovic £4m
Konchesky £2.5m
Krygiakos £3m

That's good!

Players that remain from the team, in my theory:

Reina

Glen Johnson
Martin Skrtel
Daniel Agger
Fabio Aurelio (rotation)
Danny Wilson (sub)
Jamie Carragher (sub)

Joe Cole (rotation?)
Steven Gerrard
Maxi Rodriguez (sub)
Lucas

Fernando Torres

Just a few points i would like to raise with everybody. firstly the fact that sergio aguero is in liverpool for xmas with maxi rodgriguez seems very odd to me, furthermore on dani pacheco's facebook today he changed his profile picture to one with kun. evidence perhaps that he may just be trying to settle in? secondly regarding conor wickham, im good friends with somebody connected to ipswich's son and apparently they do not rate him that highly and are happy to sell for anything around 8 million (my friend put me off him though ha ). thirdly and most randomly, steven gerrard and his wife have been spotted twice in recent weeks in cobham, surrey. with any luck he is just buying a nice house in the area and not considering a move to chelsea again! food for thought. ynwa
